Taking Gary Glitter away for a little while will make the swearing go away. for those who don't know, at Cheel after the "1 Minute of play in the first period" announcement Clarkson fans yell "OOOOKay and still sucks". This seemed to be fine with everyone until large numbers of people would add "Dick" to the end of it. The Arena Management, possibly under instby Dpperk29 - Hockey

ugarteTrotskyKeithKMaybe so. But the kid has a history of dangerous hits. If it's not malicious then he simply gets so frustrated that he stops caring. I'm not optimistic that another suspension will be enough to make him start thinking out there but the league has to penalize him severely for it.Hey, granted. Context matters. Re: OB back in the Habs line-up - 15 years ago
RitaIt would be an interesting sight to see OB and Martin St. Louis battle in front of the net (or even along the boards). how is that even a battle? I think little guys can do very well in pro hockey, but battling along the boards and infront of the net are two spots where size does matter. Josh '99 Either way, I was getting at the notoriaty surrounding the fans in philly. if I remember correctly (I was young when it happened) they cheered while Michael Irvin lay motionless on the field after an akward head first fall onto the incredibly hard playing surface (asphalt covered with astroturf). In the interest of fairness, it should be pointed out that Michael Irvin IS a criminal and aby Dpperk29 - Hockey

Re: Cornell 4 Clarkson 1 Postgame - 15 years ago
BMacWe'll have to agree to disagree. I think playing for a full minute while a guy is literally not moving on the ice (not moving- not writing in pain, but not moving) is 100x worse than calling said players assholes. Agreed, but I firmly believe that both actions are bush league. When considering different events, just because one person is wrong, doesn't mean the other isn't also wrongby Dpperk29 - Hockey

daredevilcuDevin, I take full responsibility for that. It was a powerplay starting for us, I started Jailhouse, and I didn't see the player down. As soon as we realized it, we tried to stop everyone from finishing the song. Relax. Fair enough man, we all make mistakes.by Dpperk29 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 4 Clarkson 1 Postgame - 15 years ago
cornell was better than Clarkson in pretty much every facet of the game, end of story. I would also have no problem with cornell telling the clarkson Pep Band that they aren't welcome at lynah rink next year (I know it won't ever happen). I don't care who it is, when an opposing player is on the ice hurt you should sit/stand there and hope he is okay. When he gets up, you should clap/cheer. noby Dpperk29 - Hockey

Jim HylaBeeeejDpperk29 I only have two concerns about this weekend. 1.) Clarkson plays well 2.) BMacClarkson's uniforms have apparently gotten even uglier. Although I strongly support green-and-gold uniforms in certain occasions, hockey is definitely, definitely not one of them. BMacOK, quick question: if someone scores an own goal (say, Clarkson's Shea Guthrie on Friday at Lynah), WHAT DOES THE ANNOUNCER (in our case, Arthur) SAY? I'm assuming it would be: "The first Cornell goal... was scored by number 91, Shea Guthrie! (GUTHRIE!) Assisted by number 15, Collin Greening (GREENING!) and number 14, Riley Nash (NASH!). Re: Cornell @ North Dakota 11/28 Post-Game - 15 years ago
Jordan 04 It really sticks in my craw when the ref standing right next to the play and watching it doesn't call anything, but the penalty comes from a ref halfway down the ice. Often times the plays that happen right infront of an official are the hardest to call. when you are close to the play, as an official you have to be much more aware of where your feet are, where all the players are, wby Dpperk29 - Hockey
