Re: Ticket Line Procedures - 20 years ago
Isn't that what the eLynah Ticket Exchange is for? Yeah, but how many face-timers post here?? I do like the idea of Faithful buying out section O. Nothing would help further psyche out opposing teams than their own fans getting drowned out and taunted by Faithful sitting right behind them.by French Rage - Hockey
Re: Ticket Line Procedures - 20 years ago
A few thoughts: - Avash made a good point for people who won't get tickets. Go to Bartels or Lyanh before the games and there will usually be people selling extra tickets, wither in the student section or elsewhere. Ma freshmen year, I got a ticekt for the exhibition game, and then every single game after that I was outside buying tickets from those who were selling. Well, also the usual stuff you'll need to sleep over - tooth bursh, contact solution if you got contacts. Bring some of your textbooks, since you'll be sitting around all Saturday, so it couldn't hurt to get some reading done. Alot of people bring TVs with video games / VCRs / DVDs, so if you and some friends have those that'll also help pass the time. And if you wanna get some exercise, a fooby French Rage - Hockey

I don't know, I'm not proposing a correct way. I'm just saying people shouldn't criticize the biotech line when it's purpose and result was easing some of the troubles inherent in last year's (and this year's, more or less) procedure.by French Rage - Hockey
Re: Ticket Line Procedures - 20 years ago
Mike, the biotech line last year was an attempt to prevent a mad rush at the official line formation time. If you just had groups wandering around the Bartel's area until 4:45 and then bolting to the front of the line, the result would be chaotic and possibly dangerous. At least with the biotech line, there was an orderly procession to the front of the line once the official line formed. I agrby French Rage - Hockey

From what I hear, North Campus dorms lost power, but I dunno if it was just isolated areas or the whole campus. People mock me for living in Virginia, BUT I HAD POWER LAST NIGHT! HAHAHA!by French Rage - Hockey
Re: Leneveu signs with Phoenix? - 20 years ago
IIRC from 2000-2001, which was the last mediocre (though still pretty damn good) season, Lynah was full, but not packed. That is, there werent any gaps anywhere, but it certainly wasnt as full as the last two seasons. You could still get tickets before the games outside (even Harvard if you paid enough).by French Rage - Hockey
Re: tickets - 20 years ago
I'm pretty sure the hike doesnt apply to student season tickets. IIRC, the Student Activity Fee subsidizes ticket prices to an extent, which is why our tickets are much lower than for students of other schools (i.e. Minnesota, UNH, Michigan, etc).by French Rage - Hockey
Re: tickets - 20 years ago
the problem's not getting in line, it's getting kicked out of the field house area time and again by officers and athletics staff who tell you the earliest you can come back is 4pm, and showing up at 4 with 150 people lined up at the biotech building. -mike 04-- lining up for tickets by one shitty procedure or another, 3 yrs and running Well, the biotech line worked pretty well because it alloby French Rage - Hockey

Re: Randy Jones jumps from Clarkson - 20 years ago
Nah, I agree, first time I looked at it I thought "wait, didn't they miss a letter there... oooohhh" . I have a hunch we won't be seeing much of that one. They would really have to make a hockey stick of the L, and not an L of the hockey stick. Also there should be more space between the C and the A, which would indicate more easily that the stick is a letter, rather than a stick stuckby French Rage - Hockey
Re: Leneveu signs with Phoenix? - 20 years ago
I agree with Tom. While we may not be the national title contender we were last year, we will still be pretty damn competitive this year. Not to downplay the loss of LeNeveu and the seniors, but I feel that the sophomores will continue on their great pace and our highly-touted freshmen class will be able to make a contribution. Re: NHL Draft - 20 years ago
Just remember it in a few years when either fluctuations or the swing of the pendulum reverses the situation and some Clarkson/SLU/UVM/RPI fan starts mouthing off about how the Ivies (especially Brom and Darmouth ) are dragging the rest of the ECAC down. Especially since this year, Brom's and Darmouth's schedules have many games against Anybody, but few against Nobody and Cupcake.by French Rage - Hockey

Re: OT (sort of): Jason Kuczmanski - 20 years ago
According to the Pitt-Bradford site he is from DePew, NY, while the Cornell Hockey Database thing lists him from Cheektowaga, NY. A quick Mapquest search reveals that these two towns are both suburbs of Buffalo that look to be right on top of each other. Thus, unless two Jason Kuczmanski's live in neighboring towns, which is even more unlikely, it is the same guy. One of the Google search siteby French Rage - Hockey

Re: As god is my witness I will get a jersey before i graduate - 21 years ago
Most definitely get a game-worn jersey, that's what I did (Vesce!!!). As Mike said, paying the extra 30 bucks is well worth it knowing you have the actual jersey that the player wore in the game, rather than some knock-off with inconsistencies.by French Rage - Hockey

Re: TV?!!!!!!!!! - 21 years ago
Yeah, sound's off, so listening on radio, which is a second or two ahead. Actually creates an interesting effect. I'm especially pissed about this. I wasn't getting the channel in my house, so I went down to WSH to see if they had it. On the way, a car pulled out and hit me, meaning I missed all of the first and most of the second. Re: WTF??? - 21 years ago
I agree with DeltaOne. You win a championship by beating the good teams. If we are a national championshio team, then we sure as **** can beat a team like Mankato. Instead of bitching, we should welcome the challenge of a tough #4 seed. At least it'll stop the UND assholes from whining about how easy we have it.by French Rage - Hockey
Re: Section B - 21 years ago
I was in B and had no idea a player was down, until some RPI bandie was looking at us all shocked. Furthermore, the cheers were not taunting. the first was some guy, who obviously was at first game, yelling "give me a C, give me an O,...". The second was the "RPI...sucks", which I view as aimed at the whole team, and not just that player. Furthermore, RPI had given out cheby French Rage - Hockey
