Re: ELynah Chat - 14 years ago
Rita Hi, Is anyone else having trouble logging into the chat? It took me several tries to log-in on Saturday night, but I thought that was screw-up because I had the chat loaded on one laptop, but then decide to loaded on my older, smaller one (so I could spend repeated attempts logging into RedCast). Now I can't get in at all. When I click on the chat, I get a log in screen and I type inby Jacob '06 - Hockey

Swampy sah67 Byron Bitz will be playing on Boston's top line tonight against St. Louis, joining Marco Sturm in flanking the just-back-from-injury Marc Savard according to the Bruins gameday blog, Savard had this to say: Marc Savard "I like it," he told the Bruins' official Web site. There's a wrestling discussion going on in one of the other threads and you're saying this about the World Cup? CORNELL Wrestling, you infidel. margolism What's the deal with Boston University? They lost, again, to New Hampshire 4-2 They are 3-7 on the season. They've already lost more games this season than they did all of last season. Looking forward to MSG... I think they lost a lot of people from last year's team and probably have a lot of growing pains as a result.by Jacob '06 - Hockey

mnagowski I guess this TV broadcast was essentially eating up all the bandwidth coming out of athletics and knocked out everything including the media wireless in Newman. This would make sense, given that SportsNet New York didn't show the basketball game as they advertised. When I tuned in I saw a five-second still of Louis Dale, followed by a black screen, followed by an infomercial. I gotby Jacob '06 - Hockey

I got a very long response from Jeremy Hartigan that he wrote at 12:46 AM. I'm not going to copy the whole thing, but basically the problems seemed to stem from the Time Warner TV broadcast of the basketball game. Re: General Wrestling thread - 14 years ago
ugarte Any clue why Perelli wrestled for Nickerson? Before the match, Koll said that he thought it might come down to Nickerson getting bonus points and he was right. Also surprised that Basting wrestled for Kerber. Any clue about that one? The redcast didn't come on until after 125, so I don't think anyone knows. My best guess was to keep him fresh for the tournament, but I guess if Koll saidby Jacob '06 - Other Sports

Al DeFlorio Shades of lacrosse. Maryland ties the heavyweight match with three seconds left and wins in OT to beat Cornell, 18-17 Looked like Arnone had horrible conditioning, looked half dead from the middle of the 2nd period on. He also thought the match was over when he gave up that takedown I think. Then he pretty much just gave up in OT. I feel like conditioning and/or trying to stall awaby Jacob '06 - Other Sports

upperdeck hard to think 100 viewers at such a low bandwidth would cause server issues.. They are broadcasting video for hockey, wrestling, and basketball all at the same time. I imagine they are actually getting a lot of traffic tonight, but I also imagine the problem is between Cornell and Sidearm's servers somewhere.by Jacob '06 - Hockey
Re: General Wrestling thread - 14 years ago
Well Lewnes seemed like he was about to get a tech fall to put us up 14-9 right when the video last froze. Not sure if he pulled off the last takedown or not, but we should be up at least 13-9 after his match.by Jacob '06 - Other Sports

DeltaOne81 Is Stout a good place for a (multi-) family meal before the game? Or is it likely to be very crowded & very loud & more of a bar atmosphere? ebilmes 2. Cornell needed to score on that 5x3 late in the 3rd. (Could barely hold the zone.) They also needed to be a lot more creative on the 5x4 power plays in the 3rd. They kept running the same exact play, passing to gallagher down by the goal line and then trying to stuff it through the middle in to traffic or into the goalies pads hoping to put home a rebound. Re: WHCU Radio Broadcast - 14 years ago
munchkin The WHCU broadcast is in time with the RedCast, does that mean that RedCast is on the 10 second delay? The redcast picks up the audio by putting an extra microphone in front of the broadcasters, or tapping in to the feed out of the arena to the radio station, they aren't picking it up out of the air and broadcasting it. The video is certainly on some sort of delay for the time it takesby Jacob '06 - Hockey
Re: intramural hockey gone :( - 14 years ago
David HardingI wonder how big a specified gift would be needed to restore the program. Can anybody tell me what the format for intramural ice hockey was in recent years? In my day (1968-1978) the interest was high enough and the general demand for ice time high enough that they just ran a single elimination tournament. Half the teams only played one game.
