Re: "Voices of the Faithful"- New Pep Band CD - 20 years ago
Does the Pep Band have a home page? I had a link to the old home page which became inactive over a year ago.by marty - Hockey
Re: nieuwendyk retire?? - 20 years ago
I think that Joe doesn't care what I think. But I hope he hangs around for a few more years.by marty - Hockey
Re: Playoff DVDs revisited - 20 years ago
Do you need a digital copy or could a high quality SVHS or VHS copy be of use?by marty - Hockey
Re: Recruits - 20 years ago
I agree with you Jim. I also think that David wants a degree! I hope I'm right but my clairvoyance leaves a lot to be desired.by marty - Hockey
Re: Recruits - 20 years ago
I'll go on record that The Big Red will be one of the top three teams in league. The only way this won't happen is if they stop playing as a team.by marty - Hockey
Re: Donations - 20 years ago
Some of the E Lynah group have traded a few tapes. Jim suggested that we donate money for each trade. A nice idea. See: Post Edited (05-16-03 23:34)by marty - Hockey
Re: Greatest Goalie of the '70s - 21 years ago
Does anyone on the forum have a tape of 60's (or 70's) Cornell highlights? Post Edited (05-13-03 02:52)by marty - Hockey

Re: 2004 frozen four - 21 years ago
I didn't receive anything in the mail. Even though I have been at three since 1998 I was only listed as the buyer this year. I am assuming I will have to print out the application from the NCAA web site in May when the lottery applications are taken.by marty - Hockey
Re: More Best Moments... - 21 years ago
I try to keep seeing my cup more than half full. This year the cup was much more than half full on and off the ice. The contrast between college hockey at CU and so many sports at so many colleges makes me very proud!by marty - Hockey
Re: Midget - 21 years ago
Yes, Juneau did complete his degree in three years and did grad work as a Senior. However, he also had some advanced placement credit due to the Quebec school system having a 13th grade (or something like that). But Juneau was also alleged to have learned English while at RIP in addition to his engineering and on ice accomplishments. Does anyone know if the language barrier was a fact?by marty - Hockey
Re: Donations for Cornell tapes/DVDs - 21 years ago
As long as we are on this subject could someone please recap the need for donations for the recruiting trips. It was mentioned in a thread this year and likely will be the reason that I make a restricted gift.by marty - Hockey
Re: The Single Funniest Moment... - 21 years ago
Greg, you probably did deserve that umbrella... And that little girl, if she ever hunts you down might give you a kick. I was at Lynah in '96 sitting in the only seats available in that year before the sellouts became the norm. There was a nice lady, a little older than me, in the crowd who seemed intensely interested in the game. I did some listening and realized it was P.C. Drouin's moby marty - Hockey
Re: Lynah Poll - 21 years ago
Jim, Does "enclose the open end" mean to add seats to the (west?) side that currently is seatless? In the other thread you mention the dreaded idea that such a change could necessitate bringing the building up to current code levels. Isn't there a chance that an improvement at that end of the rink would essentially bring the rink up to code for handicapped access? Are there other iby marty - Hockey

Re: video - 21 years ago
I would like to trade a copy of either of two tapes that I have for the Mankato game (the Saturday game from Providence). I can send either a copy of the UNH game (in the 6 hour SLP mode) or a copy of the YES rebroadcast of the ECAC final over Harvard (in the 2 hour SP mode on a T-160 tape). Please email me at the lynahred email address above without the .notspam in the address if you can sendby marty - Hockey

And...when the UNH fans started leaving after that goal... Obviously grad students who did their undergrad work at RIP!by marty - Hockey
Re: Thank you Mike Schafer - 21 years ago
Second, if I remember correctly, it appears that your son worked TOO hard in high school and ended up at a school without a real hockey team. So Anne has to be careful. Martin P.'s third year of hockey "away" games included three in Boston (Frozen Four). We made a side trip to a very nasty place in Cambridge. He and I enjoyed the anthro lecture but he wisely chose a nicer place to tby marty - Hockey
Re: Gophers - 21 years ago
Imitation = flattery. Also... I have a confession to make. I never personally invented any of the cheers used at Lynah. But, I did yell at the Jumbo-Tron to "Focus somewhere else" just one commercial before the booing began on Thursday. For those interested in the booing, it made the Buffalo News in a feature that included many short topics.by marty - Hockey
Morning - 21 years ago
Sunday morning to be exact. Gerry York's BC team took four trips to the Frozen Four before breaking through in Albany in 2001. We have to look at the whole year in perspective. The Cornell hockey program is on an upswing. The feeling is great because the team is great. To paraphrase our coach's remarks to his players: ENJOY THIS, IT"S FUN!by marty - Hockey
Re: Thank you Mike Schafer - 21 years ago
I also want to thank the coach but for more than just a great year. In '95-'96 he started his tenure with high hopes and a hell of a lot of hard work. Toward the middle of that season many of us knew something special was happening. My family made its first hockey weekend visit to a less than sold out Lynah and enjoyed a great weekend. A few weeks later we enjoyed Cornell's return to NCAA acby marty - Hockey
Re: What up with Hobey Tickets? - 21 years ago
There was a ticket requirement in 1998 at Faneuil Hall in Boston because it is so small. I think this was an exception but don't know the size of the venue this year.by marty - Hockey

Re: Saturday commitments - 21 years ago
Who's to say if, without that anniversary event, I would really have understood how much Cornell hockey (and especially the Harvard game) really means to me? Sometimes you have to break a few eggs to make an omelet. I like this post Beeeej. We all arrive on different roads.by marty - Hockey
Re: For sale: 2 tickets to the Cornell/UNH game, lower level - 21 years ago
The transaction is NOT talking place in New York, regardless of your domicile. The transaction is taking place over the internet, where there are no laws regarding ticket transactions, despite whatever policies ebay or others may have. Eliot Spitzer, you are lurking, right?by marty - Hockey
Re: Border hopping - 21 years ago
Anyone who is a passenger rather than driver and potentially without a driver's license, should bring a picture ID or birth certificate. I don't think a college ID would do it, but really don't know what type of ID they like to see.by marty - Hockey
Re: Michigan Daily's feature on C. Gartman - 21 years ago
I agree. Why the heck would we taunt him? There are more important people to harass. We want the Big Red Bear to beat up on Wildcats and Gophers or Wolverines. And speaking of the Bear. Do you think the Skating Bear will bring his female partner? It is the end of the season, after all and a short trip to Buffalo.by marty - Hockey
Re: Attn: Dave - 21 years ago
No need to feel sorry. We are just trying to help you. If you have an email account at work or home use it to contact the people who are posting here. Most have email addresses for direct contact. I tried to email you but the address that you have isn't enough to send a message. Good luck getting your tickets. Let's Go RED!by marty - Hockey
