Proofreader? Anyone? Anyway, has anyone successfully contacted this person for tickets to this year's actual banquet? Thanks.

I successfully contacted her back when I was under the misapprehension that the banquet coincided with the award ceremony this Friday in Buffalo. But I definitely can't go to Minnesota just for the Hobey banquet two weeks after the Frozen Four.

So is that a coded message to indicate that there is a banquet in Minnesota separate from the awards ceremony in Buffalo? Because if I knew something like that, I probably wouldn't post such a dorkily confused note. Do you need tickets for both, or can you just show up for the awards ceremony?

I believe you need tickets to get into the Friday announcement at the Hyatt Regency. The tickets are "free," but they are distributed and required in order to control the size of the crowd. I can't tell you where they are being distributed.

In past years you have not needed a ticket to attend the announcemet of the Hobey. I haven't heard anything about this year however.

There was a ticket requirement in 1998 at Faneuil Hall in Boston because it is so small. I think this was an exception but don't know the size of the venue this year.

There were no tickets required at Albany in '01.
