The most obvious is that Cornell didn't make the Frozen Four.  The slightly less obvious is that it also wasn't "this season."
To be fair, they didn't say Frozen Four. They said "Frozen Four Tournament", which I supposed could be a silly name for the NCAA Tournament as a whole.

The "this season" and "College" are good catches.

Is it worth mentioning that it should be ECACHL?

It was Dryden not McKee during the 29-0 season?
It was Cropper, not Dryden in goal for the 29-0 season.

The Rancor

from NHL.com:
"Giguere's backup was former Cornell University goalie David McKee, who was called up on an emergency basis from the Augusta Lynx - Anaheim's developmental affiliate in the ECHL. Ilya Bryzgalov was unavailable because of what the club described as a lower body injury."

The Rancor

a goal and assist last night make Moulson a 17 5 5 10 +9 on the season. I thought he would be doing slightly better scoring-wise, but Its good to see him with such strong +/-. He is getting plenty of PT, but he needs to score if he wants a shot at the New NHL.

QuoteDavid LeNeveu's days with the Coyotes appear to be numbered.

LeNeveu practiced on Tuesday and may even dress for tonight's game against New Jersey, but the Coyotes still are pursuing a trade for another backup goalie.

Meanwhile, prospect Josh Tordjman stopped 55 of 57 shots and won Tuesday night for the team's top affiliate in San Antonio with Coyotes General Manager Mike Barnett in attendance.

Barnett may bring Tordjman back to Phoenix with him today.

Coach Wayne Gretzky pulled LeNeveu from his last start on Saturday, then publicly criticized him for giving up three goals in 27 minutes. The next day, Gretzky spoke publicly about acquiring another backup goalie in a trade.

As of noon Tuesday, the two had not spoken privately about the situation.

LeNeveu (2-1, 4.09 goals-against average) has heard about Gretzky's remarks and is puzzled. Yet, he's not moping.

"My head's held high," LeNeveu said. "I feel confident and I feel good. I'm just going to come to the rink every day and do my job and see what happens from there."

LeNeveu, 23, is not hoping for a fresh start with a new team.

"Why would I want to be traded?" he said. "Phoenix is a great city and a beautiful city. Wayne Gretzky is the head coach, and I'm playing with guys like Curtis Joseph and Jeremy Roenick and Shane Doan and I could keep going through all 22 guys."

You obviously haven't been reading Bill's posts for very long.

According to the HF Boards there is a blurb in the Augusta paper stating that McKee has been recalled to the Ducks for a game against the Sharks tonight.  He will be the back up.  There is speculation that that this move might indicate that the Ducks are getting ready to move Bryzgalov.
... because Ilya's not doing well, or the media complained his name was too hard to spell?
Was this one of those jokes just sitting there on a tee that you can't help but swing at? Because ... whiff.
Many people feel that's why Bernd Pischetsrieder, pronounced, geez, never mind, got bounced from BMW and then Volkswagen.

Plus: No fair cross-linking (alleged) joke threads.

[Edit] Plus, you connect on one of three, in baseball you're in Cooperstown. With jokes, maybe you get to work a Carnival Cruise.
And if you connect on zero of three jokes, you go write for PC Magazine?

If you hit one of three you do not get the (well-paid, I've heard) cruise work. You just need to hit on almost all of your jokes. You just can't work blue - or even swear.

A six-letter acronym for an athletic league is...well...silly.

French Rage

Smart move by Pheonix, because replacing the backup goalie is clearly the move to make when the rest of the team blows.

Agreed and agreed.  But I don't believe the writer of that article made the conscious decision to drop the HL.

But it is on the 2005 ECACHL championship banner in Lynah.
