not good for Lenny. I wish he would get traded to a better team.
Yeah, where he can play for a better coach that won't chew out his rookie goaltender after one bad period (after 3 stellar outings) and coddle his veteran netminder who has been pretty awful all season.
To be fair, after all that coddling Joseph has been good as of late.

I've often found myself wishing for Leneveu to get traded to a team with better defense, but Phoenix is one of the only clubs in the league where he'll get significant ice time.

Maybe Gretzky said it as a challenge to motivate his young goaltender.

I saw someone somewhere mention him possibly getting traded to the sharks for nabby, but I think cujo's better play lately has been put that to rest.

Maybe so, but I doubt it.  On Nov. 3rd, Lenny relieved Joseph at the start of the 3rd period after he let in 5 goals on 21 shots in a game against the Ducks.  In the final 20 minutes he recorded 13 saves on 14 shots.  The next night, Joseph starts and gets yanked after giving up 2 goals on three shots. Lenny comes in and makes 38 saves on 40 shots and is named the 1st star of the game.  After Lenny shined in both games that weekend, you'd think he would get the next start, right? Wrong.  Gretzky gave Joseph the next start (and the 3 after that).  What kind of message does that send Lenny? I'm not entirely sure, but it certainly wouldn't motivate me.

"He didn't get the job done.  I know he's a better goalie than he showed last night"
-You had a bad game. I expect you to do better.
-->this sounds more like a challenge

"He's not getting the job done.  I know he's a better goalie than he's shown."
-You're underachieving.
-->Gretzky can't really back up this statement, and it sounds more like he has it out for him, he is just using Dave as a scapegoat, or he is frustrated.  In any case I thought it was a poor choice of words, and it appears to me to be indicative of a greater problem.
I saw someone somewhere mention him possibly getting traded to the sharks for nabby, but I think cujo's better play lately has been put that to rest.
And anyway he wouldn't play much if he got traded to the Sharks either.  They'd be dealing Nabokov because they've decided Toskala is the guy they want to use as their starter and Lenny would be cheaper than Nabokov as a backup.

Postscript:  CuJo allowed 5 goals on 29 shots last night.  If you're getting equally mediocre play from both of them, why not give the young guy a legitimate opportunity to develop?  It's not like Phoenix is going to the playoffs.
"They do all kind of just blend together into one giant dildo."

According to the HF Boards there is a blurb in the Augusta paper stating that McKee has been recalled to the Ducks for a game against the Sharks tonight.  He will be the back up.  There is speculation that that this move might indicate that the Ducks are getting ready to move Bryzgalov.

... because Ilya's not doing well, or the media complained his name was too hard to spell?

Many people feel that's why Bernd Pischetsrieder, pronounced, geez, never mind, got bounced from BMW and then Volkswagen.

Plus: No fair cross-linking (alleged) joke threads.

[Edit] Plus, you connect on one of three, in baseball you're in Cooperstown. With jokes, maybe you get to work a Carnival Cruise.

The most obvious is that Cornell didn't make the Frozen Four.  The slightly less obvious is that it also wasn't "this season."

It was Dryden not McKee during the 29-0 season?
