To answer John Garrett's question - So far 8 Cornell goalies have played at least one game in the NHL:

Ken Dryden          1971-1979         6 Stanley Cups
Brian Hayward       1983-1993
Darren Eliot        1985-1989
Doug Dadswell       1987-1988
Corrie D'Allesio    1993
Parris Duffus       1997
Jean-Marc Pelletier 1994, 2003-2004
David LeNeveu       2006

Not a bad list!!
LeNeveu got some starts in 2005, too.
Btw, call it the best case of right place, right time ever.
Ignoring the goaltender-only discussion, P.C. Drouin also has to get on that "right place/time" list, as he was used as a pawn in the pissing match between Adam Oates and the Boston Bruins' management in 1997.  In a move designed mostly to show up the disgruntled All-Star, they called up Drouin and played him on the first line with Oates.  The following article is still floating online:

http://www.lcshockey.com/issues/64/feature2.asp

[Q] Of course, Harry and Mike can say whatever they want about a player - call him a floater, lazy, washed up, and that is "management's prerogative." They vilify Oates for non-specifically saying that some of the Bruins players aren't as strong as players on other teams, and then Mike and Harry blithely ship the same players down to Providence with no pangs of guilt whatever. In fact, this is exactly what Oates was complaining about, rather than the player's skills themselves. Listen: "A guy that was on my left wing three days ago just sat out a game in the minors. Is that any way to treat people?" Oates is talking about P.C. Drouin, a rookie who went from first line in the NHL to benched in the AHL three days later. Even though this is the kind of stuff you see in Dilbert's Book of Bad Management, they say Oates is the one disrespecting Bruins players? Please. [/Q]
I can't find further info, but there's one report that McKee has been sent back down to Augusta.  Not a surprise.

Leafs traded Tellqvist to Phoenix, so Leneveu's probably going back to the AHL
Leafs traded Tellqvist to Phoenix, so Leneveu's probably going back to the AHL
That's great, Wayne.  The backup goalie is clearly the biggest problem your team has.  ::cuss::

Wonder if any Cornell goaltenders besides McKee have been to the NHL without playing in a game. For instance Dave Elenbaas '73, who spent a half-dozen years in the AHL and several years had the lowest GAA.

I'm reasonably sure Jason Elliott spent some time on the Detroit bench in a similar situation.  I think he was even their third goaltender during one of their Stanley Cup runs, but obviously never saw any ice time.

Elenbaas was called up to Montreal briefly under circumstances similar to McKee's.

But he did get his name on the Cup and take it to Houston (he was with the Aeros in the IHL).  I was hoping he'd take it to Chapman, Australia.

I'll bet you could have been there if you hadn't tragically lost your jump.

Hmmm - which is funnier?  Beeeej with his name on the cup, or Beeeej as a playa'?
