Stephen Bâby's Chicago Wolves are leading Cincinnatti 1 game to none in the second round of the AHL playoffs. They have dressed the same team for the first six post-season games. They have one RW (Bâby), one LW, one C, 4 D, and 2 G on the roster but not playing. Charlie Cook's Philadelphia Phantoms are leading their second round series 1-0 over Wilkes Barre/Scranton. Re: How fast can you shoot a lacrosse ball? - 19 years ago
Thanks, Ben. I was wondering how much advantage a lacrosse player got from the extra lever arm compared to a baseball pitcher. It's not a perfect comparison, especially under game conditions, but not totally unreasonable either, so I'm somewhat surprised that it isn't a bit faster. How fast can you shoot a lacrosse ball? - 19 years ago
I'm doing a physics of sports presentation. As I looked at the speed at which various projectiles can be propelled, I realized that you must be able to shoot a lacrosse ball pretty fast, but I don't see any claims with a few quick Googles. Does anyone know the record recorded speed?by David Harding - Hockey

If we accept our standard reference ( ), up to the last listing, Miami University won the belt from University of Nebraska Omaha on 1/22/05. The next loss I see for Miami is to Western Michigan on 2/5/05. Northern Michigan took it from them 2/12/05. Western Michigan regained it 3/11/05, but turned it right back to Northern Michigan the next night, 3/12/05. Alaska-Fairbanks took it from themby David Harding - Hockey

As someone, I think Age, noted, Ithaca->Philly->Minneapolis on USAirways is $1100+. We're two months too early. In May Northwest starts flying out of Ithaca and it'll be Ithaca->Detroit->Minneapolis for a few hundred dollars. (Thank you, Larry '72, for your work on that!) Take a look at flying out of Syracuse. There's one non-stop to Minneapolis and a bunch of connections. Oby David Harding - Hockey
