Re: CU & ECAC Tourney on TV - 14 years ago
FWIW: Looks like all games will be available live online, via B2... From the ECAC site: (http://www.ecachockey.com/men/2009-10/news/20101403_ChampionshipFinals) "All games will be televised live via the NHL Network and Fox College Sports (championship game only) and streamed live via B2 Networks. Access to the B2 Networks broadcasts can be gained via the League Web site."by paulspen - Hockey
Re: Whats going on.....TV??? - 19 years ago
Didn't DirecTV block Tompkins County from Empire or NESN in 03? Can't remember, but yeah, I'm worried about this too. Would totally suck.by paulspen - Hockey
Re: Questions for the Coach on ECACHL website - 19 years ago
Rumors are always rumors until they've been officially announced. That said, the ROOF will not be raised, even when the money is.by paulspen - Hockey
Re: Questions for the Coach on ECACHL website - 19 years ago
Athletics campaign is officially over, though there are some remaining funding opportunities. Lynah renovation was never part of that campaign. Roof will not be raised.by paulspen - Hockey
Re: Quiet crowd - 19 years ago
I was in the front row of O (sucks) for the Brown game, and you were the loudest fan I've ever heard at any sporting event anywhere. I thought as a section we were pretty good considering what you usually get from Section O (sucks). You had some woman behind me peeing her pants. Thanks for picking up my Kill Schafer Kill chant at the end of period 2 when he was "negotiating" with Hanby paulspen - Hockey
Re: contacting athletics - 19 years ago
$90 in car costs $100 for the hotel room $50 for dinner, maybe you go out for beers afteward $25 for breakfast, then it's like $305 vs. $285 for the weekend if you're a adult who doesn't crash on somebody's floor. The smell of raw fish at Lynah... Pricelessby paulspen - Hockey

Page blank without login - 19 years ago
Hey Age: Cleaned my cookie jar this afternoon, and when I refreshed the forum home page (php?1), the entire message area was blank. Couldn't view anything until I logged in. Didn't used to be this way so I thought you should know.by paulspen - Hockey
Who to thank for video feed - 20 years ago
Besides Al, (Thanks Al), is there someone in Athletics that we could e-mail to thank for making the live video available. I think all of us who benefitted from it owe them a note of appreciation, with hopes that they will continue to offer it. Even if it was sort of depressing...by paulspen - Hockey
Re: Internet video - 20 years ago
Thanks for the reminder about acceleration. Yeah, I've learned that about following the action and not the puck, but even still, sometimes you want to know where the puck is. Last night from behind Clarkson Sucks bench I missed everything--puck and players--in the near corners. Plus I had to watch the smirk on Nickerson's face every time he came off the ice. The whole team was wearing eye blaby paulspen - Hockey
Re: Internet video - 20 years ago
I can never folow the puck anyway. Gosh how I loved that corny glowing puck from FOX's first attempts NHL broadcasting.by paulspen - Hockey
Internet video - 20 years ago
Since I can't get to the game tonight and need to root from home, thought I'd ask how the quality has been on the prior two broadcasts? Anyone watched via DSL or anything slower than cable with success?by paulspen - Hockey

I'm the hippie who sat a few seats to your left, and I thought your sign was superb. Now...the cop didn't confiscate your sign or ask you to leave, right? You just left--wisely--because the mother trucker was obviously looking for a fight? It seems that Sarge really didn't want to kick anyone out.by paulspen - Hockey

Anyone know why the first Cornell "goal" was disallowed?by paulspen - Hockey
Re: the verdict - 20 years ago
I think they would have given him a longer suspension, but are looking at the possibility of next season starting very late...if at all.by paulspen - Hockey
Re: Goalie fights - 20 years ago
Late in the heimspiel there was a fight in the Cornell zone, where all ten defenders and stuermer held each other on. It was however no genuine fight, until the union goal keeper, came Leor Shtrom, from its area, and a discussion with Cornell Goalie Ian Burt began. The results of this discussion it was that the two should strike themselves without gloves, for which the two were eliminated. Burby paulspen - Hockey

You gotta see this... From last night's inauguration gala. You'll need real player. Skip ahead to 1:27 on the counter and watch the guys "figureblade" and lip sync.by paulspen - Hockey
Re: [OT] ALCS: Red Sox vs Yankees - 20 years ago
Was at the game last night (painful as it was), and saw the perfect retort to your bumper sticker in red letters on a white T-shirt: 1918 Babe Bucky Buckner Need we say more? Go yanks!by paulspen - Hockey
Re: No kids in Lynah? - 20 years ago
WIFE: You missed the damn street. Turn around. ME: I missed it? You have the freakin map. WIFE: I told you it was coming, you were too busy listening to the game. 5-YR. OLD DAUGHTER: It's all your fault, it's all your fault, it's all your fault...by paulspen - Hockey

Re: To Those Going to Buffalo - 21 years ago
What you are essentially demonstrating is the difference between need-based and merit-based scholarships. Cornell awards need-based scholarships. It is all, of course, semantics, but the generous folks who ante up for them can call them whatever they want, and scholarship is the term of choice. Either way, my sign stands: No Athletic Scholarships; Just Athletic Scholars. Since I can't be thby paulspen - Hockey
Re: To Those Going to Buffalo - 21 years ago
True, but in fundraising speak, "scholarships" are awarded; they're just based primarily on financial need and not merit, although some students receive named scholarships based on their major, etc.by paulspen - Hockey

Re: Cowbell Etiquette - 21 years ago
Another trick would be to dip it in polyurethane resin. Give it two or three coats but roll the bottom half in sand after the last dip so it stays in you hands.by paulspen - Hockey

You know how some percussionists play vibes with four mallets, well there's your tactic should the other one break completely. Use both, but by all means the old one MUST be in the mix somehow. Let me know if you have trouble getting it. Post Edited (04-01-03 14:25)by paulspen - Hockey
