Re: New Recruit - 19 years ago
calgARI '07 Wrote: Just out of curiosity, how did you find this out? USHR? As I said "a usually reliable source". USHR mentioned that Clarkson, Cornell, and RPI were in the hunt for Greening some time ago. They haven't mentioned him since then. Congrats to Cornell for getting him. From everything that I can determine, he is an excellent player.by ursusminor - Hockey
Re: New Recruit - 19 years ago
I just found out from a usually reliable source that Cornell has received a commitment from Colin Greening of Upper Canada College (a prep school in Toronto). I suppose that I should be happy that he's going to an ECAC school, but I am not since Cornell beat out RPI among others. last year's stats from USHR 32-41-73 LW 6' 1 180 03/09/86 St. John's, NL Canadaby ursusminor - Hockey

A projected recruit listed on , Matt Beca of Oakville. I think they are saying that they think he will commit to Cornell, not that it has happened.by ursusminor - Hockey

Why not just put them one position above Union because we all know that "Q" is always followed by "U".by ursusminor - Hockey

I don't think that this evaluation of BCHL players has been posted yet: PLAYER GP G A PTS PM SKATE SHOT PUCK HANDLING PHYSICAL SIZE BORN Doug Krantz 40 10 21 31 39 3.5 4 3.5 3.5 6'3, 195 1983 Bulldogs left defenseman....... big defenseman with great skating ability.. moves the puck very well and has a good shot from the point...plays the man and can clear the front of the crease... goodby ursusminor - Hockey
Re: Cornell legacy signs with RPI - 20 years ago
Will, No problem with RPI jokes. Considering Dan Peace's stats in NAHL, not the best of leagues, I don't expect him to play that much for RPI as a Freshman either. We'll see. There is more discussion about him on the RPI Off Season thread at USCHO. BTW, also in RPI's Class of 2008 is Jacob Schuster whose father Jon played for Harvard ('77 I think), and Tyler Eaves whose father Murray playeby ursusminor - Hockey
Cornell legacy signs with RPI - 20 years ago
This probably isn't worth a thread of its own, but I didn't find an appropriate existing thread here, and it may be of interest to older Cornell fans. RPI signed a few days ago Dan Peace of the Toledo Ice Diggers (NAHL), son of Cornell's Dave Peace '75 (and nephew of Bob Peace).by ursusminor - Hockey

Former NHL coach Kevin Constantine was a goalie for RPI. Let's say that he left RPI under less than optimal conditions after his Junior year.by ursusminor - Hockey
Re: Goalie Recruit - 20 years ago
Chris Heisenberg is showing that Cornell has recruited Troy Davenport a goalie for Green Bay in the USHL, 5'8 165 1-5-85. (And on 1/5/85 RPI beat Dartmouth 5-2 for its 9th consecutive win in what became a 30-game winning streak that season and a 38-game unbeaten streak over two years. ) Edit: Green Bay's site states that he is 6'-1" 170 lb.by ursusminor - Hockey

Re: Goaltending Recruit - 20 years ago
FWIW, I know that Jordan Alford who will be at RPI next season was also recruited by Cornell among others. He turned down a visit to Ithaca and only visited RPI and BU. I found this out from a reliable source -- Jordan's father. Anyway, this shows that Cornell is looking for a goalie.by ursusminor - Hockey

Raymond Sawada was selected as the BCHL Coastal Division ROTY and Doug Krantz was selected as the Coastal Division Top Defenseman according to this thread on the BCHL message board .
