* Maybe more of us have streaming on our TVs whereas five, certainly ten years ago we were likely to be streaming on our desktops or laptops.
* The eLynah user experience is less optimal on a phone, which is what we'd be likely to have on the couch with us.

I went to the Army -- oops, Army West Point -- site to look up their scores this season and found this. It's possible my graphics memory was low. But I was thinking, maybe Jack Teixeira (the Air National Guardsman now incarcerated) left a couple tripwires.

Quote from: billhowardI don't get why grad students are not considered students. It would be up to them to determine if they can manage academic workload, practice, and 7-8 road games a year.

I never thought that was reasoning.
"When we came off, [Bitz] said, 'Thank God you scored that goal,'" Moulson said. "He would've killed me if I didn't."

what he's saying is "start a game thread on your phone" instead of having a season thread on a topic as active as lax

Individual game threads would be good. It might clutter the forum with additional threads but by season's end they'll drop to the second page so, no harm done.

2 games left In reg season.

Brown who I hope we play on the RD better than we did vs Harvard.
Princeton for the Ivy Reg season title most likely on SR day.  They also lost 2 players for the season vs SU  the other day.

I watched Brown lose to Yale today 16-10. Brown jumped out to a quick 4-1 lead, but Yale led 9-8 at halftime and held Brown to 2 goals in the second half. Brown's faceoff man dominated, winning 22 out of 30. But Brown's defense was shaky, and Yale scored at least 3 goals in transition, including one play where Chris Lyons, who had 7 goals, came in alone on the goalie.
Like Harvard, it's a game we should win. But we didn't do the job at Harvard, and hopefully the same thing won't happen at Brown.

A couple of thoughts: If we shot like we did against Penn State or Harvard, we would have lost to Army. The team is moving the ball and getting some confusion in the defense. If they do that well, eventually someone will come open, and it doesn't matter who.

I like the spread offense and moving Kirst to the crease attack position. I wonder what would happen if we moved him to the top of the zone more, as we did in a previous game. Or even sent him to X. Moving him around would take the defense out of the schemes they practiced.

Second, we can beat anyone in the country. We are that good this year. On the flip side, we can lose to a lot of teams as well because of the parity. So the ILT and NCAA tournaments should be a hoot.

I will say I'm especially concerned about Notre Dame. They do a lot of things well and they look tough.

Still at number 6, RPI of 5.  Looks like the top 5 is immutable.

Week 10 in the D1 media poll (4/17) and Cornell is 6th again. (graphic below)

Teams above us win, they gain a position (Duke, Maryland). The team we beat, Army, drops a position, from 7th to 8th. Notre Dame, the only one-loss team, remains atop the polls. Duke took over second place this week, with a 15-14 win over visiting Virginia, which dropped from 2 to 4.

The remaining two teams on the Cornell schedule:  at Brown, not receiving votes. Then 4/29, Princeton, receiving votes. Penn and Yale, possible ILT opponents, are 15 and 19.

In RPI (link: NC$$) has the top ten as:
1.  Duke
2.  Notre Dame
3.  Virginia
4.  Hopkins
5.  Cornell
6.  Maryland
7.  Georgetown
8.  Penn State
9.  Yale
10. Penn
...
18. Princeton
21. Army
31. Brown

No USILA coaches' poll as of midday Monday. [edit add Monday 5 pm] USILA poll has Cornell sixth again this week. See screen grab bottom of screen.

The NCAA selection committee revealed their top 10 on Saturday:

1. ND
2. Duke
3. UVA
4. UMD
5. PSU
6. JHU
7. Cornell
8. Army
9. Rutgers
10. Georgetown

Big surprise here is Army, which was #19 RPI at the time. H2H over Rutgers in the only plausible explanation for this, but it's a real departure from the official criteria.

My takeaway: this committee is whack!
