Re: Swedish (Warning: bad language) - 22 years ago
We have to do that! PS--I found a RealAudio of "Du Gamla, Du Fria" on the web, but it was a really uninspiring rendition.by jtwcornell91 - Hockey
Next poll - 22 years ago
Does that mean the ECAC site poll idea was not inspiring?by jtwcornell91 - Hockey
Re: Next year's schedule - 22 years ago
Although Sunday afternoon will be a bit tougher for folks who live way too far away and need to be back for work Monday. (Last flight I could find out of Ithaca connecting to New Orleans was 6:50pm.) But then the schedule is not designed around us.by jtwcornell91 - Hockey
Icing non-call - 22 years ago
There was a post on HOCKEY-L (by a UNH fan) which said that while the icing wave-off looked mysterious at the game, on the replay it was clear that Haydar's clear had gone off a Cornell skate. Anyone with a tape want to check on that? Here's a link to the post:by jtwcornell91 - Hockey

The bear heads got replaced a few years ago, and IMHO the old ones were a lot better-looking.by jtwcornell91 - Hockey

But Grady, please tell us... ...Are you sure it was chicken?by jtwcornell91 - Hockey
Re: Next year's schedule - 22 years ago
Any idea whether the BU games are Friday-Saturday or Saturday-Sunday? From a purely selfish point of view, the former would make it a lot easier for those of us who'd be flying in for the weekend to make it.by jtwcornell91 - Hockey
New Poll Topic? - 22 years ago
Is it time for the annual poll? The ECACs should be held in ( ) Lake Placid ( ) Albany ( ) Worcester ( ) Hartford (Last option added for Hayes's benefit.)by jtwcornell91 - Hockey
1997 - 22 years ago
You're right, this was totally different than 1997. That team hung in as long as possible and lost respectably to a substantially better team. Yesterday we played UNH even, in a battle of college hockey powers which had to take the naysayers by surprise. I fear we will forever be playing the "what if" game about this season. What if we had pulled out the ECAC final against Harvard,by jtwcornell91 - Hockey
Farewell to Joe Momma - 22 years ago
Parting is such sweet sorrow. Will you come back occasionally and tell us how David is doing in his post-Cornell activities?by jtwcornell91 - Hockey
Albany vs Placid - 22 years ago
Oh no, not this holy war again. Count me in the camp that finds Placid completely magical and wouldn't trade that magic for the convenience of Albany in a million years.by jtwcornell91 - Hockey
Re: NCAA Game 2: UNH - 22 years ago
First of all: THANK YOU SENIORS! Despite the disappointment of only getting two of the three expected banners, you had a great season, and impressed the hell out of everyone this weekend. (And Dougie Murray, please don't turn pro. Greatness awaits, and we want to practice your national anthem.) Okay, now, if anyone finds themselves stranded in Baton Rouge for a key Cornell game, may I recommeby jtwcornell91 - Hockey

Volonnino - 22 years ago
We ran into him in Placid, BTW, and he's actually a nice guy. Harvard needs more fans who are passionate about their team (not the "DO ME DOV" girls, who seem to be passionate with a particular member of the team), but understand that coming over and trying to fight the entire Cornell section is not the way to show it. Kudos to Harvard for making a good showing against a Hockey Leastby jtwcornell91 - Hockey
Re: A Newman-Potter Thread - 22 years ago
But isn't Tom actually your uncle by blood and marriage, or something like that? (It's kind of late at night to work out Newman genealogy...)by jtwcornell91 - Hockey

Game times - 22 years ago
Cornell and RIP played the late semi because RIP had played the night before. With the death of the PIG they will likely go back to giving the #1 seed the choice of semi times.by jtwcornell91 - Hockey
Chatting during Hahvahd-Maine? - 22 years ago
Will anyone be on the Lynah Chat for the early game? I'll be trapped in a conference, but may keep an eye on the chat through the wonders of the laptop.by jtwcornell91 - Hockey

Melissa wrote: JTW, you are forgetting the better side! Damn. Wish I hadn't trashed that! All that effort for nothing! Just think, you could have used it to cheer for him in Worcester. (Hmm, wonder if the original "DO ME DOV" girls will be there.)by jtwcornell91 - Hockey

Du gamla, du fria - 22 years ago
I have to say that, knowing no Swedish (but too much English), I have an issue with the translation. "Ye": is a second person plural pronoun in English, and "du" uis clearly a fsecond person singluar, so the appropriate translation would be "Thou free, ancient country" instead. (Cf. "O Canada, we stand on guard for thee."by jtwcornell91 - Hockey
Judy's Birthday - 22 years ago
Somehow I think birthday cake will be more popular in the stands than smoked salmon (especially smoked salmon on a Thin Mint). So are we wishing you a happy birthday today or tomorrow?by jtwcornell91 - Hockey
