Re: Cornell @ North Dakota 11/28 Post-Game - 15 years ago
Cornell95from the TV coverage (I didnt have audio, apparently sports bars are doing Friday night Karaoke these days?)... you wouldnt have known there was a single Cornell fan, or even anyone wearing something red There was that lady wearing a red UND sweatshirt. Apparently she didn't know the colors of the other team playing.by Liz '05 - Hockey

I'm not sure what you could possibly do with this, but UND has a kick-ass aviation program. Perhaps a fight (Cornell)/flight (UND) joke?by Liz '05 - Hockey

tretiakwhat's the appropriate time for the first "where is richter" chant? starting line-ups, first goal? i'm making up a list of notorious harvard alumni who cheated... 1. richter, who cheated on a test 2. teddy kennedy, who cheated on a spanish test 3. eliot spitzer, who cheated on his wife 4. former enron ceo jeffrey skilling, who cheated people out of their savings 5. mark zby Liz '05 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 4 at Colgate 1 Post-game Thread - 15 years ago
TrotskyFrom the "Oddities" file. Schafer as coach has a perfect record in Game 3 of the season (14-0-0). This is true of no other game, and hasn't been since he lost a Game 21 in the 2003-04 season after being 8-0-0. It scares me that your statistic-keeping is such that you know this. On a side note, moving to California has thrown off my Cornell hockey schedule...I missed this gamby Liz '05 - Hockey
Re: Spitzer - 16 years ago
RichH Now, I live in central CT, and I'm struggling to comprehend the obsessive provincial compulsion of many locals to associate with the concept of "New England" here. Not only is this place nothing like VT, NH, and Maine, but most absolutely laugh at the idea that Central NYS could have things like fall foliage, maple syrup, outdoor activities (both lake and mountain-based), and harby Liz '05 - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: NOT TRUE - 16 years ago
Josh '99jtwcornell91This sounds like a whole lot of FUD. We know almost nothing about the new service and yet you're convinced the sky is falling on the customer service front. OTOH, CSTV explicitly designed their webcast last year to work only on a single browser/OS combination, sticking their finger in the eye of Mac and Linux users. At least we know the new system is supposed to work on a wby Liz '05 - Other Sports

Re: McKee - 16 years ago
ForkEmDevilsIt is time that everyone must realize McKee was the product of a defensive orientated system at its height. I can't speak for everyone on this board, obviously, but what you're saying isn't much of a shock to me. Leneveu and McKee both left Cornell with at least one season of ridiculously good numbers, and have struggled some in the professional ranks. We knew that Cornell's skateby Liz '05 - Hockey

ugarteCornellFanhttp://content.hamptonroads.com/story.cfm?story=130402&ran=54629 2010 and 2011. Cornell's commitment to fledgling programs goes beyond hockey. If I'm in Norfolk in 2011, I'm going. Who's with me?by Liz '05 - Other Sports

ftyuvWhat I want to know is... is he getting two minutes for hooking, boarding, spearing or roughing? And is the woman getting a matching minor for holding the stick? Speaking of matching minors.... I'm pretty sure she was the one hooking.by Liz '05 - Hockey

Re: New Recruit for 2008 - 16 years ago
SwampyBig Red Puckhead is reporting another recruit, Vince Mihalek (5', 10", 175) of the USHL Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, has committed presumably for 2009. Here is the link http://www.bigredpuckhead.blogspot.com/. That looks like a fun name to shoutby Liz '05 - Hockey
Re: Bill Gates Hall > goodbye Hoy Field? - 16 years ago
jtwcornell91Liz '05Oooh, then maybe Upson will have more than one women's bathroom. Not that I particularly minded getting to leave math class for excessive amounts of time, but it was annoying when I was on crutches. But really, what about Cornell is not annoying when you're on crutches? (Other than history majors who let you lean on their shoulders as you walk them to the library ) Excellby Liz '05 - Other Sports
Re: Bill Gates Hall > goodbye Hoy Field? - 16 years ago
nyc94It looks like I am going to get my wish with the proposed demolition of Carpenter Hall. Mechanical, aerospace, civil, and environmental engineering would move into a new building on the site of Carpenter. Admissions, administration, and the library would move into a renovated Upson. Also expect a serious overhaul of Hollister. Unfortunately Kimball, Thurston, and Bard are spared. Expectby Liz '05 - Other Sports

DILLIGAFFrom the blog by the Swift Current Broncos play by play announcer... Sometimes NHL teams prefer their high end picks to get used to the NHL grind by playing in the Western Hockey League or the CHL in general. The question did come up in the scrum. Lowe says he's ok with the College route but would "pick him up himself and deliver him personally to the WHL if Nash ever considered iby Liz '05 - Hockey
Re: UMass? - 16 years ago
rediceI was able to open the link this morning. Now, I cannot open it. When I looked at this morning, it showed UHN's 2007-08 Men's Hockey schedule. I found no mention of Cornell in that schedule. I wonder what ithacat saw that I did not. I think ithacat just meant that UNH's schedule looked set. No mention of Cornell, no TBAs. So it wouldn't be possible this (upcoming) year, though Scby Liz '05 - Hockey

Re: NCAA Lax Semis - Cornell 3 @ Duke 10 (3rd) - 16 years ago
DeltaOne81Oh well. Our offense is sucking today. We haven't scored in 30 minutes. Loftus made some great saves, the Duke D is very impressive, and we try to make one-man plays from 80-degree angles. I like the new theory of trying to shoot more straight on. It seems to be working. Actually, I think what we mostly need to do is make Loftus make the saves. Kind of like what ugarte said, butby Liz '05 - Other Sports

I was about to start this thread saying pretty much the same thing. The white-haired pudgy guy on the right is particularly annoying. Luckily, he won't be calling the game or doing color duties.by Liz '05 - Other Sports

David HardingebilmesIt looks like signs/banners are permitted, so long as they aren't attached to poles.and fit into a freezer-sized zip-lock clear bag? It's a blanket, I swear. It just happens to also say Schoellkopf South (or whatever the correct spelling is) on it.by Liz '05 - Other Sports

Re: On to the semis: Cornell 12, Albany 11 (recap thread) - 16 years ago
My favorite play of the game (already mentioned on the game thread): Max Siebald chasing down an Albany player and diving to take Albany and his stick down, somersaulting to get back up while Cornell picked up the ball and ran it in on offense. AMAZING play. AMAZING game. Totally worth the drive Oh, and I now totally understand why Siebald is a Tewaarton finalist - he did everything todby Liz '05 - Other Sports
