Izcornellastateskyl?Apparently all Corn. U. "scholars" have to "busy" themselves with?..well, great minds think alike!..... What? I'm considering reposting this on my new favorite Facebook group, I judge you when you use bad grammar.by Liz '05 - Hockey

billhowardLord knows where students and alums would find affordable hotel space, but they won't lack for things to do. There are plenty of students from the NYC area, and even more recent alums. I can't believe that any student would have a problem finding a place to stay, and if they want a hotel room, they won't care about splitting it 7 ways. Like I did in Floridaby Liz '05 - Hockey

jtwcornell91Nice bit of continuity for someone in TV land to have a non-endless wardrobe. Meredith Grey of Grey's Anatomy wears her Dartmouth t-shirt a lot, and carries the same tote bag.by Liz '05 - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: Cornell at Clarkson Post-game - 17 years ago
minwho is in charge of the offense these days? Apparently Mitch Carefoot, the only Cornellian to score this weekend. I don't think he'll ever have a Vesce-esque seven points in one game, though, so we better figure out who else can score.by Liz '05 - Hockey

Beeeej Who would I complain to in real-time about the quality of the video? Why would you complain about free video?by Liz '05 - Hockey
Re: Cornell Vs. Clarkson - 17 years ago
sah67Twice now, Potsdam's finest have pronounced McLeod as "Mick Lee Uhd" Kind of stupid of them not to read the pronunciation guide, but I'm pretty sure the first time I encountered that name in writing I tried to say it that way. However, that was in, oh, elementry school.by Liz '05 - Hockey

Seems like we've managed a stronger pp this time around. Though it's hard to tell, we've definitely spent more time in their end than in earlier periods.by Liz '05 - Hockey

Re: All-access failure for Sacred Heart - 17 years ago
I just tried to load the video and am not having any problems. I'm also pleasantly surprised at 1) the presence of video this early, 2) the lack of Loch Ness/truck rally commercials, and 3) what looks to me like a slightly improved interface. And as I finish this post, I get a "This event has not yet begun." Maybe I spoke too soon.by Liz '05 - Hockey
Re: Jersey - 17 years ago
ftyuv I wouldn't be surprised if the bizarre stripes and fonts were done purposely to get people talking about how much they don't like it, so that at least when Nike rolls out the final versions, which will look more or less like what people are used to for their team jerseys, the name "Nike Swift" won't be forgotten. If true, that's messed up. Shame on them.by Liz '05 - Hockey
Re: Duke to forfeit games to Georgetown and Mount St. Mary's - 17 years ago
ugartenyc94Duke University says it has invited 2 lacrosse players back to school Two? Why only two? Was the third the one who transferred to Hofstra to play under his father (or something like that)? The third player graduated just before he was charged. I think you're thinking of an incoming freshman released from his commitment...but I'm really not inclined to track down why I think thatby Liz '05 - Other Sports

Hey New Hampshire, the Old Man of the Mountain called, and he said, Ahhhhhh! (with hands on face, then pulling down, as if face was falling off)by Liz '05 - Hockey
Re: Cornell-UNH Postgame Thread - 17 years ago
jtwcornell91las224 On another note, props to whoever started the "live free / die" chant. I enjoyed that one, even if I had to explain NH's motto to those around me before they got it. The New Hampshire fans we hung with during the consolation game were amused by the Old Man of the Mountain cheer. We got creative at the @Dartmouth game last year. It took two periods before I realizby Liz '05 - Hockey
Re: Jersey - 17 years ago
My biggest problem with the jerseys is the font. The nameplates especially have narrow letters that make them difficult to read from a distance. I think the consensus was that we didn't mind the new cut or fabric as long as it was classic styling. It wasn't that far off from the usual Cornell uniform though, unlike UNH's, which had a weird horizontal light grey stripe under the numbers on thby Liz '05 - Hockey
Re: Cornell-UNH Postgame Thread - 17 years ago
We were WAY better than I expected, which makes me very excited. 1. The penalty kill was reliable, even killing off several 5x3s. Some of the calls leading to those 5x3s were questionable...the roughing penalties all resulted (in my eyes) from a UNH player's decision to wrap his arm around a Cornell face...but we responded well to all of them. It seems the time off has allowed Schafer to fby Liz '05 - Hockey

Re: Alumni in the Pros -- December 2006 - 17 years ago
billhowardKarlmooseWent to the Binghamton-Rochester game last weekend, which Rochester won 10-4. Vesce had a goal and an assist, including a nice tip-in, and Cook had a very interesting goal in which he broke in on a partial breakaway, had his shot stopped, and then literally shoved the goalie Anderson into the goal with his stick. I was more amused than the fans around me, who would have probablby Liz '05 - Hockey

Me! Though my flight is such that it looks like I'll probably miss half of the WMU-Maine game. (Interesting that UNH-Cornell gets top billing, despite the later start time, on USCHO's schedule page.)by Liz '05 - Hockey

Re: BU players attacked - 17 years ago
Jim HylaLiz '05billhowardNot to blame the victims, but 4 am is kind of late to be out. And by saying that, you're placing some of the blame on them. I doubt it's much more likely to happen at 4 am than 2 am on a Saturday night/Sunday morning, and most students/recent grads here could tell you that Collegetown streets are packed at 2 am on a weekend. But that's the point, crowded streets, regardby Liz '05 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 6 Union 0 postgame (12/2/06) - 17 years ago
Cactus12I always like to remind opposing players that they're not living up to their own team's legacy. For example... telling Mrazek that he's a disgrace and that Union never got blown away like this when Mayotte was around. I love it! I'll have to remember to do that (perhaps in Florida? hmm...I may need to study for those games)by Liz '05 - Hockey

Tub(a)You kids and your crazy facebook schemes. I could never imagine using the facebook for hockey related taunting purposes Seriously. You young'uns need to go past the poking and dig deeper into their profiles. Find some pictures of, say, a bunch of Clarkson players in a small hot tub (or something).by Liz '05 - Hockey
