Re: Dartmouth AD apology - 17 years ago
My favorite parts of the article RichH posted: There also have been accusations that...the crew team held a party with a "Cowboys and Indians" theme. (At the risk of sounding insensitive and racist myself Seriously? As if a Ghetto party isn't similarly offensive. It's just a theme party, with bad timing, considering recent events on campus. Al DeFlorioKeithKLiz '05Al DeFlorio Error #2: It's the Eastern College Athletic Conference. Is it worth mentioning that it should be ECACHL?No. Because that still sounds silly. A six-letter acronym for an athletic league is...well...silly. Agreed and agreed. But I don't believe the writer of that article made the conscious decision to drop the HL.by Liz '05 - Hockey
Re: Quinnipiac's new rink - 17 years ago
Cop at LynahThe top 3 rows on the south side have obstucted views of the corners. Sections A/B can not see corner by F/G and vise versa. Is this obstruction from, for instance, rafters or the press box? Because when I was in B in 03-04 and 04-05, I could never see the F/G corner. I doubt anyone under 6 feet could.by Liz '05 - Hockey
Re: Quinnipiac's new rink - 17 years ago
ugarteKeithKRich SKudos to Clarkson for making improvements to Cheel since its opening. You can hope that Lynah will be replaced, when the time comes by the "perfect" arena, but that rarely happens. You're right - a replacement for Lynah would almost certainly not be the perfect arena. That's why I want them to keep Lynah as long as possible - better to keep the great place that we doby Liz '05 - Hockey

billhowardQ: Is this cool for the players or what? A: They may get to go home for Christmas for a day or two but if they do, they often wind up flying back on Christmas Day or the day after, and there are no non-stops Vancouver-to-Fort Myers. They get like one day at the beach after the tournament before heading north. A few families just have Christmas in Florida.by Liz '05 - Hockey

redhair34Any word from the Qunnipiac announcers on how Davenport looks? 3 GA on 15 shots doesn't sound all that stellar. There was a scrum at the end of the 2nd penalies forthcoming? scannonhttp://quinnipiacbobcats.cstv.com/ there's a headline link to the radio page there, follow your nose. Thanks for your (and everyone's) help. Re: All-Access - adopt a player's parents - 17 years ago
Jim Hyla Afterall, if you hear once that someone from Canada wants to sign up for your hockey service, it should ring some marketing bells in your company, thus leading to a fix. Oh well. Unfortunately, I doubt they think of themselves as a hockey service.by Liz '05 - Hockey
Re: All-Access catalog of woes - no instant replay - 17 years ago
billhowardHow hard would it be to have the field engineer (there is somebody besides the two camera people?) stick in an index mark that automatically replays the previous, say, 10 or 15 seconds? This is less a "woe" than a "it would be nice to have." I suggest focusing on the lack of consistent feed and the so-called encoding issues that pop up in the middle of games beforby Liz '05 - Hockey

Re: Cornell 5 @ Yale 2 (Final) - 17 years ago
msphi81It looks like this is a team that can win on the big Olympic ice rinks. ...We clearly have the speed to skate with the teams out west, while Bitz, Carefoot, Mugford, Nash, McCuthcheon, and Krantz give us tremendous size and power as well. I couldn't figure out a way to put it without woofing, but I agree. Last night, I was thinking, "If only the Minnesota fans saw us now!" Wby Liz '05 - Hockey
Re: CSTV - call to complain last year, sue 'em this year? - 17 years ago
I'll be calling tomorrow and asking for a credit. York: no video (not planned, either, but I won't bother telling them that). RM: success! at least for me. RIT: no video for the second period Brown: no audio until the second period Yale: no audio at all That's five games down, four to go (one of which will be televised) in my month-long subscription period. Re: other games 11-3 and 11-4-06 - 17 years ago
nyc94 No, you weren't woofing. But calling me touchy when you fly off the handle at the mere mention of your team in anything less than glowing praise, even when it is obvious to everyone that the comments were in jest is pretty hypocritical. It's a little unfair to bring that up in this thread, where the only mention of Clarkson is that they won. Rich S doesn't deserve that tonight.by Liz '05 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 5 @ Yale 2 (Final) - postgame - 17 years ago
evilnaturedrobotbillhoward NOne other nit: Davenport (goalie Davenport) seems to spend more time out of the crease slowing down pucks behind the cage and he doesn't get back all that quick. Did anyone else notice that? I too noticed this, Davenport's stickhandling skills don't enthrall be either. All in all, I'd preffer it if troy spent alittle less time out of the crease.
