Re: Duke to forfeit games to Georgetown and Mount St. Mary's - 18 years ago
Jordan 04 Or an election to win. The case certainly won't die yet; I believe the primary is the first week of May and the election is at the end of May. The facts and validity of the case nonwithstanding (and I am not going to make a judgment on that here), Nifong has a very strong motive to keep this case -- and his name -- in the paper for 6 more weeks. The Ivy League, seldom known for its football talent - at least since the 1920s - got some attention this season when former Harvard quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick emerged from obscurity and appeared in four games for the St. Louis Rams after injuries plagued his position group. TrotskySo, the lobby floor will be at the same level as the current concourse? If the only reason for the big hole is that they're building a box on the south side for the lockers, couldn't they have the lockerrooms at ice level and just carve tunnels straight from the lockerrooms to the ice, with no climbing? Is that too low a ceiling? That's what I assumed they would be doing when the firstby David Harding - Hockey

From the NCAA rule bookAppointment of Officials SECTION 1. All games shall be officiated by a three-person officiating system. The on-ice officials should be the referees, assistant referees and linesman; the off-ice officials should be a game timekeeper, official scorer, two goal judges and, for tournament competition, an instant-replay official. FWIW, not related to the captain(s)'s role in motivating the team, communicating with the world, and so forth... Captain of Team SECTION 2. a. BeeeejRichHsockralexRichH Thanks for that link, since someone over there has put up a video clip of the SportsCenter coverage. I can't find it. Granted I haven't searched through it very thoroughly. Can you please post the sports center clip link? It's also been posted on the USCHO forum. Who knows if this guy has a bandwidth limit. It's about 9.5 Mb. KeithKNow, I'm not going to disagree with you strenuously here (or, really, even at all), since I agree with you that the NCAAs are overpopulated with teams that really haven't done anything but do reasonably well in difficult leagues (UNO, UNH, CC, maybe us?), but isn't part of the fun of organized sports the possibility that, even towards the end of a reasonably unsuccessful season, you can puby David Harding - Hockey
Re: 2006-7 Schedule - 18 years ago
nyc94TrotskyYep, it's almost certainly too late to get on any tier one schedule for 06-07, and maybe even for 07-08. I'd love to see Cornell and Colgate do a traveling pair to Denver/CC, for example. If there's any way of making any of this happen within budget, Schafer will work it. Is travel budget much of an issue? Serious question as I have no idea. TCHL8842Great game This game was a little hard to take since it went 3ots. Hopefully none of the non-seniors leave, but I have a feeling we can see Pok, McKee, and OB leaving. The little I read it seems that our incoming freshmen are pretty good. Does anyone know who we are playing next year? billhowardAging alumni who remember 1973: Which hurt worse, this game where we played our hearts out as the underdog and it would have been a challenge, but a welcome challenge, to play in the title round in two weeks ... or the 1973 NCAA semis where Cornell was up 5-2 on Bucky and managed to allow the game to be tied in the final minute ... with a loss about ten minutes into OT? Re: CC/Bemidji/Wisconsin cheering - 18 years ago
finkCC takes courses on a block system (as opposed to semesters), as apparently the students are only able to handle 1 course at a time. And it only lasts for 3.5 weeks. I'm having trouble coming up with a cheer/sign for that, but there has to be one in there somewhere.Interesting. That's the same system that Cornell College uses. billhowardSo doing this over the summer seems feasable. Cornell just needs the rink buttoned up by fall. Actually, it needs to be skateable again by summer if the annual hockey school is being run.
