Re: Polls - 12 years ago
Trotsky ajh258 Sullivan finally wrote an in-depth analysis for this year's team; Schafer received high praise as well. The coach is an adaptor; don’t be fooled into thinking otherwise. He has outgrown the battering rams and has adopted more decisive methods of taking the castle. Just call him trebu-Schafer.So, Sullivan plays Civ. He really like to play Risk and Monopoly, I've never seeby munchkin - Hockey

Re: Jersey Mockups - 12 years ago
One of the very nice things about Cornell having jerseys that have been very similar over the years, is alums can wear the game worn jerseys from their time (name plates help confusion over which #26 or which #4 you're wearing), and still match, or very nearly match, the current players. That said, I do have one of the Pink at the Rink jerseys, and would likely buy another of the charity ones, buby munchkin - Hockey
Re: Jersey Mockups - 12 years ago
What don't you like about the current jerseys? They are classic, understated, but very RED. Having huggy bear makes them, in my opinion, cartoonish.by munchkin - Hockey
Re: Other News Around the ECAC - 12 years ago
My two cents having gone to Frozen Fenway and the Winter Classic game at Fenway. You can't see anything. Fenway's seats have such a slight up angle, that unless you're in the upper deck or out in the bleachers and really far away, all you can see is their upper bodies. You can't see any sticks or puck handling. The game is up on the high def screen (Fenway *finally* upgraded this past year),by munchkin - Hockey
Re: "Fighting Sioux" nickname may stick at N Dakota - 12 years ago
Currently they have not chosen another name and they are asking to simply be referred to as North Dakota (that's not likely, too many syllables for play by play and other announcer types for continued use). As well, via twitter, the ice hockey team will continue to wear to Sioux jerseys until late in the season as the new ones will not be ready until then.by munchkin - Hockey

I just sent the link to this thread to the Programming Committee chair for the CCOB. I know he's not on ELF and wouldn't have seen this, but it's brought to his attention. Edit: His response is below. This means if you want it to change, get a lot of people to call Cornell and say, poor choice. > Thanks for sharing. Anyone going to Brown from Boston on Saturday/Roll Call? - 12 years ago
While taking the Commuter Rail is certainly an option, it would be nice not to be tied to their schedule (especially at the end of the game), so I"m wondering if anyone is driving down to Providence from Boston on Saturday. Anyways, I'll be going down regardless and look forward to seeing those of you who I haven't seen since last season. Contact: mbm47 <-- that's best since I'm iby munchkin - Hockey

Re: Football stadium hockey: Shark-jumping 101 - 12 years ago
I can tell you from having gone to Frozen Fenway #1 with BU/BC, the sight lines are absolutely horrible. Hockey needs much steeper seats to be able to see. Most people were watching the play on the jumbotron since you could only see the players from the waist or knee up depending on where you were.by munchkin - Hockey
Re: ECACs to Providence? - 12 years ago
Providence is easy to get to for those without a car (assuming the journey doesn't start in Ithaca). That's definitely a plus. Commuter rail from Boston is a wonderful thing, especially since the station dumps you almost within sight of the arena.by munchkin - Hockey

Swampy You're right, so let's take the discussion in a slightly different direction. Why does it seem that so many of the people on this board studied in the College of Engineering? I'll point out that I was Econ, Gov't, and Math in A&S (yes, that's right, all three). Like the engineering students, I didn't get to take very many electives because I was filling out the requirements for tby munchkin - Hockey
Re: cornell 2 - brown 3 OT - 13 years ago
Al DeFlorio upprdeck brown wins.. shot from way outside isles makes toe save and the puck sits for ever and finally gets swept in. bad loss considering brown played well for all of 5 shifts in the game..I don't know what game you were watching, but sitting in Meehan it was clear Brown was all over Cornell from the opening faceoff until the five minute major. They beat Cornell to the puckby munchkin - Hockey

Rita Roy 82 Rita If you are bored and need something to do especially now that Robb has so nicely worked out Cornell's playoff seeding possibilities, go to the Ottawa Senators' home page and vote for Colin. On the lower right side of the page is a poll for "which Sens prospect are you most excited about". Colin is at 12% of the vote. Maybe if he scores 2 goals in Buffalo he can get tby munchkin - Hockey

marty Robb Interesting - I had never noticed this streak before: Ivy Champs: 04 - Brown 05 - Cornell 06 - Harvard 07 - Dartmouth 08 - Princeton 09 - Yale 6 different winners in 6 years. Don't you feel left out now, Columbia and Penn? That was exactly what I thought as soon as I read the list. Too bad Dartmouth and Harvard weren't flipped with each other.by munchkin - Hockey
