Re: Alumni in the pros - March 2014 - 10 years ago
Moulson was serenaded by Islander fans during the game, nice to see that he was appreciated. He had some comments on his trade from the Islanders as well. Moulson comments Nash had 18:30 of ice time last night on 25 shifts - this is the most ice he's seen this year. Picked up an assist playing the right point on the power play. He's consistently getting shots on net every game since the Olyby RatushnyFan - Hockey

I think he's a rental in MN if Vanek wants to be there. GMs usually go for top-end skill versus grit/determination/going to those dirty goal spots when they have a choice. I was actually wondering if Moulson would head back to the Islanders to play with his buddy Tavares. Seemingly Garth Snow closed that door, I heard him "defend" the Vanek trade on the NHL radio network yesterday,by RatushnyFan - Hockey

I went to Michigan for grad school and really liked the university and the hockey team. They copied our cheers but Yost was a nice environment when I went there and half the team made it to the NHL. What about Union? They've built up quite a program in my view. Not sure what the fan base is like. Ylae is also coming around, no? Sure, they're a rival, but they drawing some excellent recruiby RatushnyFan - Hockey

Moulson has to move today..........Kings? Blues make another deal in a Cup or bust gamble? He's not at the Sabres morning skate today.by RatushnyFan - Hockey

Mark Morris has been the Manchester Monarchs coach forever. Are they grooming him for when Darryl Sutter goes back to the farm/blows a gasket or is he stuck?by RatushnyFan - Hockey
Re: Recruits 2014 - 10 years ago
I was one who thought he would be a real star...........saw him play as a midget, he was a sniper. For whatever reason, it didn't translate at the next level, probably a speed or strength issue. Maybe he'll come around, and scoop I'm sure he still wants to come (who wouldn't) but I think it's at least a question mark now as to whether he'll make the team. I hope that he does, he seems like a gby RatushnyFan - Hockey

Hard to believe that Rauter will be there next year. Looks like he's no longer on a USHL roster, he's moved on to the NAHL. Rauter statsby RatushnyFan - Hockey

Re: Recruits 2014 - 10 years ago
You can call him Darren if that makes you feel better. He's an interesting story.......from the moribund U Illinois-Chicago program which was shut down to Lynah rink, how about them apples? I was at Michigan getting my MBA in '95-'96, that UIC team was awful.by RatushnyFan - Hockey
Re: Favorite Harvard Game Memory - 10 years ago
ugarte 1990? 1991? Cornell wins a draw in the Harvard end with about a minute to play and a Tim Vanini slapshot from the point ties it up. Don't know why this means more that the Paolini/McRae heroics but college memories are sweeter, I guess. It was 2/9/91. Remember how badly Harvard beat us in prior games: 12/4/88 Cornell 1, @Harvard 9 2/10/89 @Cornell 2, Harvard 4 3/11/89 Cornell 3, Harvaby RatushnyFan - Hockey

ithacatKenny Agostino went to Delbarton. His senior year he scored 50 goals and had 33 assists -- looks like Otterman is at 24 and 15 (fwiw).Exactly, very different numbers. Agostino is the exception rather than the rule. Kenny also played with the New Jersey Colonials travel club team from Mite C through U18, I would argue that the Colonials were responsible for the bulk of his development, noby RatushnyFan - Hockey

SwampyYes, but BRPH lists him as 2015. Our very strong current class of juniors will have graduated by the time Chad arrives on the hill. Among those slated to enter next fall, Yates (Deefield/NV) is averaging 1.6 ppg; the next highest, Vanderlaan (AJHL), is averaging 0.59 ppg. Among those slated to enter in 2015 or 2016, Ott (USPHL) is averaging 0.81 ppg; Otterman (Delbarton), 1.6; Sternscheby RatushnyFan - Hockey

Josh '99It takes a lot of effort by the defenders to get out of the way of so many shots so they could get to Scrivens! It takes an utter lack of possession for one side to attempt 100 shots.by RatushnyFan - Hockey

Trudat. Darren Dreger reported via Twitter that Greening was being considered in a trade: "No match between Sens and NYR on Del Zotto. Told Ott made Gryba, Greening and Condra available. Fit wasn't right for NYR."by RatushnyFan - Hockey

He's only played a couple of AYHL games so far this year.......2 goals in 2 games.Sam's stats This is the same league that Joakim Ryan (Devils), Eric Sade (Little Caps) and recruit Alex Rauter (North Jersey Avalanche) came from, although I think they "committed" much later. Back to 11/2 Quinnipiac...........how did the Clifton brothers look (on the ice, playing hockey, for you literal folks)? Connor looked like a beast as a junior player. My son sometimes plays spring hockey with his younger brother, I'm just curious how they looked at the D1 level.by RatushnyFan - Hockey
