If the ECAC's web site is to be believed, Schafer is now 35 ECAC RS victories short of the all-time record.

272 Len Ceglarski
270 Joe Marsh
256 Tim Taylor
255 Bill Cleary
238 Mike Schafer *
236 Charlie Holt
226 Bob Gaudet *
211 Don Vaughn *
196 Mark Morris
190 Mike Gilligan

503 Joe Marsh
460 Don Vaughn *
432 Len Ceglarski
423 Mike Gilligan
418 Mike Schafer *

The relative positions of Schafer and Gaudet on those two lists makes me so, so happy.

BTW, after scratching my head for a while I figured out that Schafer's loss total on the ECAC site is off by 100 (and the GP is off by 2). His all-time record in ECAC games is currently 238-127-53 .633

If you wondered, he aint catching the tie record (Gaudet has 90!) or the loss record (Taylor had 274).

Gaudet is about 5 years older, and Vaughn just a couple years older, than Mike. (I was surprised Gaudet is not over 60; it just feels like he's been around forever.)

Given the longevity of guys like Mason, Parker, Taylor, and Cleary, it is not impossible that a decade from now all 3 of the "deans" still be coaching. (Mike of course with a couple NCAA titles to his name...)

In passing: Pecknold has also been coaching at Q for 19 years, though of course not all of them in D-1.

That should be 120 losses, right?

He'd better not be over 60. He was a student when I was! (I believe he was a senior when I was a soph).

Mark Morris has been the Manchester Monarchs coach forever. Are they grooming him for when Darryl Sutter goes back to the farm/blows a gasket or is he stuck?

The class of '05 was part of 29 shutouts in 138 games. That's a shutout more than 21% of the time. Wow.

A big part of that was this. Check out those shots per 60 minutes faced by LeNeveu (21.0) and McKee (23.1).

By comparison, this year Cornell has given up 28.6 shots per 60.
