Re: Cornell "Suicide School" NPR Story - 14 years ago
An article about it made it in to the NY times yesterday also. I'm too lazy to hunt down the link.by Jacob '06 - John Spencer Is Dead

Doesn't seem like there are very many people there. EDIT: I guess they were just showing a section that is pretty empty, the center of the stands are full.by Jacob '06 - Other Sports

Cornell had built up a 3 goal lead, but army pulls back to within 1 with 5:20 left in the game. Army 3 for 3 on man-up situations.by Jacob '06 - Other Sports

Re: Cornell in the Olympics - 14 years ago
jtwcornell91 Tom Lento Swampy Flyers1037 Some good talk about Douglas from the commentators during the Finland game tonight. "... is the 5th player from Cornell to play in the Olympics, the previous 4 all having played for Canada." I'm fairly tired and out of it so I can't elaborate more. Some good hits from Douglas in the game, but playing his normal strong defensive presence whichby Jacob '06 - Hockey

Re: Princeton Post-game - 14 years ago
Jim Hyla As I said on chat, Scrivens has won many games for us, but tonight just didn't have it. However we pushed to come back, and showed offensive spark. Scrivens will not likely play like that again, so overall I'm pleased. Nice to see good play by Garman. It shows how important and difficult a goalie backup has it. This Princeton team is shorthanded but we showed we can play with them. Now wby Jacob '06 - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Princeton. Any info? - 14 years ago
To clarify, when they say SRO only they also mean you can only buy them the day of the game starting at 6PM apparently. I guess we are going to make the trip and take that risk, so it'll be me +2.by Jacob '06 - Hockey

Pretty amazing first period pin by Nickerson, then Grey loses a decision and Dake wins by decision. Cornell up 9-3 after 3.by Jacob '06 - Other Sports
Re: Powerplay problem - 14 years ago
Oat I am surprised that nobody has mentioned our 0-for-21 PP unit yet in this thread. We were 0-for-5 in this game and we definitely should have won by a larger margin. I don't think the 1-0 victory was a STEAL. Perhaps the reason our PP doesn't work anymore is that the opposing teams are beginning to watch our tapes and learn our movement system. I think we need to change it up a bit to makeby Jacob '06 - Hockey

Re: Alumni in the Pros - December 2009 - 14 years ago
redice sah67 Ryan O'Byrne wearing his new #20 is on the ice for Montreal tonight against Bitz and the Bruins. Does anyone know the reason for this number change. When they gave him #3, I thought it might be an indicator that he is well entrenched in their future plans. Does this change to #20 indicate that his stock has dropped? He changed numbers b/c they retired #3 on December 4th.by Jacob '06 - Hockey

CUontheslopes Pretty pricy - $54 and no student tickets...I'm not sure how many people MSG expects to draw...It's a shame they don't have half price student tickets. They're going to have a half full arena. I have a feeling half full is ambitious.by Jacob '06 - Other Sports
Re: RPI Internet Video - 14 years ago
ScrewBU Kyle Rose ustream.tv looks great. And we get warmups! Yeah but imagine how much money they must be losing. Redcast is pay and the powers that be have already made it perfectly clear that they're losing money, we're lucky to have anything at all, and ours is better quality The major difference is that this broadcast is just a port of a TV broadcast. Rita I think Matt has had too many cups of coffee in the NHL and probably is not considered a rookie. You are correct, he is not qualified for the Calder: To be eligible for the award, a player cannot have played more than 25 games in any single preceding season nor in six or more games in each of any two preceding seasons in any major professional league. Re: Cornell-BU @ MSG postgame - 14 years ago
scoop85 MSG was supposed to undergo a $600 million renovation, including widening the concourses. I haven't heard anything official, but I'm assuming it's on hold due to the recession. It is rescheduled to start this summer. The prevailing theory is that the Dolan's were just threatening to try and get the move across the street to happen still, but I think at this point the renovations are juby Jacob '06 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 3 BU 3 (Final) - 14 years ago
I may be entirely insane, but I'm pretty sure I heard Ritchie blow the whistle before the puck squirted out and past the line, and I was sitting right behind the net. Either way, the puck was pretty well invisible underneath Scrivens before it squirted through, and the BU player definitely got it through by pushing Scrivens in some manner.by Jacob '06 - Hockey

Al DeFlorio ugarte Cool video: Freshman Kyle Dake's takedown of #4 and returning All-American Alex Krom in the dual meet: That was an amazing move. Dake came close to pulling that move off at least twice before in the match, but couldn't quite do it. It seems like he was probably doing a lot of Greco-Roman training in the offseason with all the double underhooks he was trying. I'll be interesby Jacob '06 - Other Sports
