Re: Michigan-Cornell@MSG - 11 years ago
Kyle Rose jtn27 Kyle Rose The problem there is the white pants. I don't see anything wrong with it from the waist up. The white pants obviously don't help, but I think it's the shirt that's the problem. There's too much going on. Plus, it's a little difficult to read the team name. Forgive my naievete, but... isn't that the point? I don't think so. I think the writing is still supposed to be leby jtn27 - Hockey

Re: Michigan-Cornell@MSG - 11 years ago
RM 08 Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but from an MSG Network press release: "Cornell, which is expected to wear camouflage jerseys during the second period of Saturday’s game in support of The Wounded Warrior Project..." Should be pretty interesting. Red camo or regular camo? I hope they look nicer than the Padres' awful camo uniforms, which might just be the worby jtn27 - Hockey

billhoward There's also the failure of basic math and geography. The Big Ten won't have 10 teams Basic math failed a long time ago. The Big Ten hasn't had 10 teams for over 20 years.by jtn27 - Other Sports
Re: Mouth @ Cornell - 11 years ago
The sad thing is that this 1-1 tie was probably the best full game of hockey they've played since the CC games, and it's definitely the best result since the first Colgate game.by jtn27 - Hockey
Re: Hahvahd @ Cornell - 11 years ago
Jim Hyla ECAC tries to show replay of the 2006 Harvard @ Cornell game. However it seems to stop before Kennedy's game winning goal. I've emailed them about it. Also thru the ECAC, here's the Harvard Crimson article on the weekend. “It’s huge,” Fallstrom said. “It’s going to be a packed barn, loud, probably not a single Harvard fan in the stands. It’s going to be fun though.” I guess they canby jtn27 - Hockey

Weder billhoward Please, Lord, let Emrick not bring Chico Resch to do color. It's supposed to be Pierre McGuire, which, well... Too bad the benches aren't next to each other in Lynah.by jtn27 - Hockey
Re: Schafer involved in a SUNY Oswego journalism student's suspension - 11 years ago
marty jtn27 dag14 You wouldn't find it offensive that someone you don't know contacts you by email asking you to dish dirt on one of your colleagues? Kudo to Coach for saying what he thinks. That's certainly an understandable reaction, but how did Oswego find out about the email? Schafer must have forwarded it to someone who works for the University. To me, that seems like he took it too far.by jtn27 - Hockey

Re: Schafer involved in a SUNY Oswego journalism student's suspension - 11 years ago
Seems to me like Schafer slightly overreacted and SUNY Oswego greatly overreacted. (Although I can understand wanting to punish him for lying about his affiliation, but the other stuff is nonsense).by jtn27 - Hockey
Re: Gate @ Cornell - 11 years ago
When would hear if there were any suspensions resulting from the fights? Is it safe to assume that because none have been announced yet there won't be any, or could they still be forthcoming? I figured any announcements would come today.by jtn27 - Hockey
Re: Gate @ Cornell - 11 years ago
CUrafter Also, who was the 3rd string goalie on the bench without a name on his jersey? Someone they pulled off the club team? Chris Hogan, call up from the club team.by jtn27 - Hockey
Re: Gate @ Cornell - 11 years ago
redice Al DeFlorio flyersgolf Where is Esposito and Gotovets?According to College Hockey News, Espo "had a setback in practice this week." This is what I heard at the game Saturday: Gotovets: ankle (stepped on a puck in practice) Espo: Shoulder ("setback" would lead one to think it's his ankle again. I think shoulder is a new problem). So to sum up, Esposito either suffby jtn27 - Hockey
Re: Gate @ Cornell - 11 years ago
We're definitely getting some suspensions for that little "incident" after the handshake. I think Miller might be one of them; he delivered a few good punches, plus tackled someone during the game.by jtn27 - Hockey
Re: Red Cast Really Sucks - 11 years ago
Jim Hyla dag14 I paid %5.95 to watch/listen to the Colgate b'cast and enjoyed it very much. Loved the comments about the "packed Starr Rink." Was it really packed? It is hard to tell watching the video stream but I would have sworn there were lots of empty seats. Announced attendance was over capacity. Certainly empty seats, and late comers; much like Lynah. It was pretty much fuby jtn27 - Hockey

Hurricane Sandy could affect March's ECAC Hockey championships in Atlantic City Mostly just speculation and not much content, but still somewhat interesting nonetheless.by jtn27 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 2, CC 0 (game 1 Friday) - 11 years ago
andyw2100 I noticed we dressed a third goalie last night. He wore number 30, but did not have a nameplate. Checking the roster currently, he is still not included. Is it safe to assume that this was just someone from the club team that Schafer chose to have available on the bench last night? He is indeed a call-up from the club team. I had actually heard about his call-up before the Brock gameby jtn27 - Hockey

Re: Cornell 2 - Brock 2 (Final) - 11 years ago
On the first goal, we all thought that Iles covered up the puck and that the play was dead, but then a Brock player forced it in. A few minutes later, Cornell scored what looked like the tying goal, but it was disallowed and I couldn't hear the explanation given as to why. So in summation, the revised final score was 3-1 Cornell.by jtn27 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 6 USMNTU-18 2 (FINAL) - 11 years ago
nyc94 How did the power play look? I see we were 1 for 7 and gave up a shorthanded goal. Like last year, they didn't take very many shots during the power play. If this game is any indication, that will once again be an issue for us this year.by jtn27 - Hockey
Re: New recruit - 11 years ago
As I'm sure most of you already know the US Mens's Under 18 team that we play tonight has a player, Michael McCarron, who has already committed to Cornell for next season (in fact, it's probably already on this thread somewhere, but I don't feel like looking). This roster lists where all the players have committed to, but four of them (Goalies Thatcher Dekmo, Curtis Frye, and Hunter Miska, and deby jtn27 - Hockey

Ben Swampy Ken711 jeff '84 Looks like 41-38 Cornell. Minute left. What happened to Matthews? Neck injury from the Harvard game. The Press newspaper said he was day to day but was improving, and being this was a non-conference game probably wise to let him heal fully before the start of the 5 remaining Ivy on the schedule. Nice to know his backup can put up Matthews-like numbers. Do you sby jtn27 - Other Sports

Ben Thomas LarsonThis undefeated run has to end soon, right? DON'T SAY THAT WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT -edit- That sounded angrier than it should have. Either way, defeatism is punishable by death. Yale is next, they're pretty mediocre. Because threatening him with death sounds a lot less angry than hitting caplocks.by jtn27 - Other Sports
Re: Preseason - 11 years ago
RichH I guess my only problem with Union hoisting four banners is the redundancy of having separate "NCAA Regional Champion" and "Frozen Four" banners. We should have Frozen Four Banners in addition to the NCAA Tournament (appearance) and National Champion banners.by jtn27 - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Harvard in football - 11 years ago
TimV Yeh... I paid ten bucks for that and it was awful. Lots of dropouts, silly graphics, repeated buffering pauses, and they never showed anything but successful Harvard offensive plays. And worst of all you gave Harvard money.by jtn27 - Other Sports

Aaron M. Griffin Anyways, while we are disparaging Union, let's do it regarding something more concrete: 2012-13 Union Media Guide While sharing a conference with six Ivy League schools, the Dutchmen consistently shine brighter in the classroom. Is this a classroom where they teach how make up blatant lies?by jtn27 - Hockey

marty Redscore Uscho has run out of things to talk about. What next, the best non paid but not really full time and not really paid assistant, associate, teaching, coaching, semi-coaches? Re: Collegetown apartment-rental sleepover lines - 11 years ago
RichH billhoward The Lynah ticket line sleepover gives way to sleeping overnight outside a landlord's door to be first to sign for fall 2013 housing in Collegetown. Some students who spend the night, however, expressed frustration with Eiding’s group’s early start. It was “almost ridiculous” of them to start so early, Arnav Sahu ’15 said.“We had a plan of probably going there at around midnby jtn27 - John Spencer Is Dead
