Re: Bracketology Starts - 6 years ago
I'm sure you're right. But even though I am not a Notre Dame fan, why should they have to travel to New England two years in a row? Driving wise from South Bend, Bridgeport is not all that more of a drive for fans than Allentown. Maybe 11.5 hour drive for a local fan over a 9.5 hour drive. Bridgeport is more friendly for Irish fans in the New York and New England hubs to attend than Allentowby Josh 03 - Hockey
Re: Bracketology Starts - 6 years ago
Adam also says he would bet the committee follows a different path than he is. So... “Of course, I've been wrong before going this route in my assumptions. In fact, if I had to bet, I'd say the Committee does flip this around and get the Minnesota schools here and Northeastern somewhere East. But I wouldn't not do that, personally.”by Josh 03 - Hockey
Re: Bracketology Starts - 6 years ago
Dafatone So the question is, does the committee think that an eastern regional or a western regional is more "home" to OSU and ND? I would think Notre Dame to Sioux Falls. Their campus is about halfway between Sioux Falls and Allentown. Ohio State is significantly closer to Allentown so they make more sense there. Then doesn’t really matter if St Cloud is in Worcester or Bridgeport.by Josh 03 - Hockey
Re: How to get tickets. - 6 years ago
Seems wise to me. Most students aren't going to stick around. So this way sections of tickets don't get stuck with people that aren't going to use them, so the program can try to sell them to people that will. And for students that may be inclined to stick around, they can easily buy a ticket.by Josh 03 - Hockey
Re: Frozen Four Tickets 2018 - 6 years ago
I think it's also due to the emergency of StubHub and other such sites. Buying on the secondary market is so secure and easy now that there's less and less reason to loyally buy tickets year after year to improve your standing. Or to even buy tickets in advance at all. For the 2003 Buffalo Frozen Four, I had to scour the Internet to buy tickets from someone I think the Gopher Hockey Forum. Donby Josh 03 - Hockey
Re: The Frozen Apple - Cornell vs. Michigan @ MSG on 11/24 - 11 years ago
Ok, when you buy the tickets, it's more clear what you are buying (the diagram is accurate, the sections listed on the initial ad are not, at least for the presale). Josh 03 But the prices and diagram doesn't match up. The diagram gives the impression that the $57 seats are back of the 100 level and center of the $200 level. And that the $29/$18 purples are also on the 200 level. Diagraby Josh 03 - Hockey

Anyone catch what tim the said the Cornell/UHN game is on Friday?by Josh 03 - Hockey
Re: ECAC Game Viewings - 14 years ago
Yeah, DC at Penn Quarter Sports Tavern. We'll be there for BBall and sticking around for hockey. They're always accomodating, but the GM is different from last year, so a new person to have to convince that groups really will come out to watch college hockey, even during college basketball season. There will be 2 NCAA BBall games going on at the same time, but there not huge draws. Anyway,by Josh 03 - Hockey

Re: The Abbotts - 15 years ago
It could be the slow motion, but the goalies and defense in this league look pretty bad. Like that goal at 0:36. It's like the defensemen just back off and the goalie taps the (slow mo) shot right in front of the other side of an empty net to be buried.by Josh 03 - Hockey

Re: SUCCESS! - 15 years ago
Though I feel weird putting it on this thread, does anyone have any footage or URLs from the Cornell vs. UNH game in 2003. I've never had the chance to see a replay of the high stick call on Palahicky and it's always irked me.by Josh 03 - Hockey

Re: ECAC on TV - 15 years ago
Any updates on TV for tomorrow? Seems like only B2 on the Internet for live. Hoping that there is a change. Pretty pathetic that the ECAC couldn't get this game on TV... LGR!by Josh 03 - Hockey
DC Viewing for ECAC Semis (and BBall) - 15 years ago
Big Red Friday! Friday, March 20th, 2009 3:00pm – 10:00pm The Cornell Men’s Basketball team has made the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row. The Cornell Men’s Hockey team skates in the ECAC Championship Tournament this weekend. Both teams play this Friday and the Cornell Club of Washington will host a gamewatch for both games in Downtown Washington DC. 3:00 – 5:00 Corby Josh 03 - Hockey
Re: RPI @ Cornell (Pregame) - Game 3, 3/15/09 - 15 years ago
The ECAC HL website as well as recent histroy, refutes what Jason said. On Friday, March 20, the No. 4-seeded team will face the No. 1 seed in the first semifinals contest, followed by the No. 3 seed versus the No. 2 seed in the second semifinals game. http://www.ecachockey.com/men/tournament/index In the past, the #1 team had a choice of when to play and typically chooses the early gameby Josh 03 - Hockey
Re: BU at MSG 2009 tickets on sale this Friday - 15 years ago
Hopefully we'll hear something from Cornell before then. I think two years ago you could order from the Cornell Box Office which got you out of being hosed by Ticketmaster fees. Of course, this comes at a pretty bad time for the Cornell ticket office, handling NCAA BBall, and the ECACHL playoffs.by Josh 03 - Hockey

Re: Cornell @ NoDak, Friday, Nov. 28, 2008: Washington DC - 15 years ago
CCW's game watch organizer is in NY for Thanksgiving and tough to organize something during the break. For Washington folks interested in the game, I suggest gathering at Penn Quarter Sports Tavern. They are very eager for college sports business, including ours. They're at 639 Indiana Avenue by Archives Metro Stop. We did the Harvard playoff game and this year's Princeton opener there. Re: 2009 Frozen Four in DC - 15 years ago
LaJollaRed, whenever the Men's hockey team is on TV, I organize a game watch on behalf of the Cornell Club of Washington. Locations vary. Trotsky was thinking of Grand Slam Sports Bar at the Grand Hyatt, which is always a good location. Last March we had the Mens BBall tourney game there and the Men's semi game at the Penn Quarter Sports Tavern the next day. We are/I am looking forward toby Josh 03 - Hockey

I (along with probably everyone else from the Capital Region to NYC to Ithaca), am sure hoping for DC! Looking forward to helping put something together (read: pre and post game designated bar) if it's here in Washington. Is it Selection Sunday yet!by Josh 03 - Other Sports
