Thanks for posting it. One of the precious few games I missed in my four years and it had to be that one.

6 years later and I'm still on edge watching that puck roll towards the empty net. And screaming "Ugly!" at the :59 mark. Man, did that game actually freaking happen?

Ah, fond memories of eating scrambled eggs, hash browns and a beer from some trucker-like restaurant on the outskirts of Eugene, OR that 1) got the appropriate channels and 2) was open on at 9 am on a Saturday.

Everything about that play is so, so nice. The faceoff win was so clean, Harvard may as well not have contested it; Vesce put he puck right on McRae's tape; two men got in the way of the Harvard player coming to harass McRae; McRae skated forward until he got an angle and then found an opening to fire it past Hypen.Josh '99

Hands down the worst thing about this clip is that the entirety of Norton's "analysis" is him talking about how Cornell's players picked off the Harvard players.

Also, wonderful audio of the '90s way of doing the goal chants. The "WE WANT MORRRRE" was significantly slower than the cadence of "Davy." Also, note a measured pause between the end of the "Sieve" chant and the beginning of the "It's all your fault!" chant, unlike today. And we all have to agree that "SAAAAANN-CIM-IIINOOOOO" was the beginning of the tradition of echoing the PA announcement of the goal-scorer from that year on. You can't underestimate how hungry that fanbase was to be back in the ECACs. That corner was absolutely packed and BUZZING the entire weekend.
Oh, Tripp Tracy, that GIGANTIC sieve.

I used to have a clip of Iggulden's GWG against OSU (I think) in the NCAA tournament. The goal was right after we killed off a long penalty.
I lost it. Does anyone else have this video clip? ..or at least know what I am talking about?

I have no idea what you are talking about because I couldn't watch the games that night and my DVR conked out when the score was still 2-1. I didn't know if Cornell had won until I switched to the recording of the Minnesota game, already in progress.Oat

Sawada's role in that play is sometimes overlooked: he made the pass that sprung Iggy on his rush up the ice to take the first shot, and then he levelled the OSU player who was about to clear the puck, causing the turnover that allowed Moulson to feed Iggulden for the goal.

Though I feel weird putting it on this thread, does anyone have any footage or URLs from the Cornell vs. UNH game in 2003. I've never had the chance to see a replay of the high stick call on Palahicky and it's always irked me.

I can't bring myself to transfer that damn clip. I should say clips. There was 7 minutes of bullshit and replays before the refs stole the goal. From my armchair analysis of the damn tape there is no way that they could have legitimately overruled the on-ice call of a goal. Hocus-pocus.

when i lived in LA, the guy who would organize game viewings had a VHS tape with some game footage from 86, he put it on before we watched the FF game in '03. I know he used to browse the board occasionally.
Howie, if you're around, any chance of youtubing that footage?

I imagine that it might exist...if only because there's film of the 1969 championship loss to Denver available on DVD:

I've slowly been acquiring films for Cornell's archival collections, in part thanks to some posters here. If anyone knows of more, original film, VHS or DVD copies, they would be gratefully welcomed. Here is some of what has turned up, though there are others that have yet to be cataloged. There is some 1970 footage.
A lot is still on film though and needs digitization.
