Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
W. Hockey Recipe for Success? They eat a pregame meal! - 16 years ago
From today's Daily Sun. I hate to pick on them too much but sometimes... How can you write and publish this stuff! Apparantly, the Women's Hockey team does something very special before each home game--it's become something of a tradition. They eat lunch together at a dining hall! What's on their menu? The answer may shock you...chicken and pasta! What's more? They drink lots of fluids tby Josh 03 - Other Sports
Re: Date Change for Clarkson Game - 16 years ago
Does anyone have information about whether a Cornell-Harvard game (or any additional ones) will be televised. Someone e-mailed me asking if I would be organizing a game watch in DC. Don't know if that meant that they knew something I didn't, or if they were just assuming that one of these games would be televised.by Josh 03 - Hockey
Re: Cornell Lacrosse Tailgate Party and Pep Rally - 16 years ago
Bump. And, yes, thank you to those generously supporting the tailgate financially. I'm really looking forward to it and the games!by Josh 03 - Other Sports

Re: Lax Final Four Tickets - 16 years ago
Just called the Ravens for more ticket info. They said that single-game tickets go on sale the day before each game. L-J's post would reflect the prices they're charging. All-sessions are available for $65 in the lower bowl (goalline) and $55 in the upper bowl (18 rows up sideline).by Josh 03 - Other Sports
Re: Lax Final Four Tickets - 16 years ago
I don't think it's that hard to justify. It's pretty standard for athletes to be given a limited number of tickets. Above that, you hear stories about them buying large blocks (from ticket offices or open market) all the time. I think it's really unacceptable to issue a press release about ticket sales to your fans, and then NOT SELL ANY TO THEM!by Josh 03 - Other Sports
Re: Lax Final Four Tickets - 16 years ago
I just got the same voicemessage. I'm on hold right now to talk to Gene...he was talking to someone else explaining what happened, and I think by now I've gotten disconnected. Did anyone here that "ordered" tickets from Cornell actually get to buy tickets from Cornell. I called right at 10:00 on Monday, when the box office was supposed to open. (Truth be told, it was 9:55; I cheby Josh 03 - Other Sports
Re: Lax Semis: Where2Watch - 16 years ago
For Washington, DC folks. I'll be in Baltimore for the game. Anyone that cares should be there too! I'm going with some friends, but if anyone in DC wants to talk to me about carpooling and extra tickets (if I have any), send me a PM. For folks that want to watch on tv in DC., our watching spot the last 2 weekends has been Ventnor in Adams Morgan. There may be an e-mail or two about it gby Josh 03 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell/Albany - where2watch. - 16 years ago

Re: How crazy would this have been? - 18 years ago
Aside from the fact that Jacob '06 has pointed out that this can never be, and Section A Banshee's points about the team being tired, but not rotting corpses... I'd imagine Chabot (or most any goalie) would get completely leveled and injured as soon as they stepped onto the ice. The goalie isn't used to getting checked, and I'm sure an opponent, as tired as they could be, could flatten a backby Josh 03 - Hockey
Re: WHERE TO WATCH: Directory of places showing CU-Wisconsin in regional final (updates needed) - 18 years ago
Can't make the trek across the river? No there aren't NoVa plans! DC area people will be in DC (Grand Slam Sports Bar). French RageFor the DC area people, are there any plans in NoVa as opposed to DC?by Josh 03 - Hockey
Re: WHERE TO WATCH: Directory of places showing CU-Wisconsin in regional final (updates needed) - 18 years ago
CU at Grand Slam in DC. People may be there watching George Mason if you get there early, but the back is reserved for hockey at 5. I plan to be there early watching the basketball and East Regional Final. Go Patriots! And BIG RED! No cover charge.by Josh 03 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 3 Colorado College 2 - 18 years ago
Ah, though nothing beats the feeling that comes from celebrating a goal like Gleed's GWG tonight, checking ELynah to read the celebratory real time goal posts almost comes close! LGR!by Josh 03 - Hockey

Re: NCAA Tournament on tv - 18 years ago
Also, please keep your ears peeled and keep me posted as to satellite coordinates. Last year versus Ohio State, if I remember correctly, the game didn't come on Altitude Alternate at the time we were expecting, and we had a bar full of upset Cornell fans. But the bar had an old fashioned satellite dish, and as I was armed with the Ithaca Time Warner satellite coordinates, the manager was able tby Josh 03 - Hockey
Re: DC Viewing this Weekend - 18 years ago
Posting at 11:39 pm. then don't bother hoping on the metro and trying to find the place! The game is over and Cornell won! But hop on the metro on Saturday night and head to McFadden's. Orange or Blue to Foggy Botttom/GWU. Northwest side of the circle. Not hard to find at all. Let's Go Red!by Josh 03 - Hockey

Re: DC Viewing this Weekend - 18 years ago
UPDATE FOR FRIDAY Cornell Hockey fans will gather at Mister Days in Arlington to watch the ECAC Semifinal Game vs. Colgate at 8PM. We will no longer meet at Buffalo Billiards. Mister Days has promised us a big screen TV. Seating, spaciousness, and volume are not guaranteed, but we have a place to watch. Try to arrive by 7:45 to ensure our numbers are great enough to warrant the reservedby Josh 03 - Hockey
DC Viewing this Weekend - 18 years ago
Friday, March 17th, 8PM Buffalo Billiards, 1330 19th Street NW (Dupont Circle) ECACHL Semifinals vs. Colgate We can't reserve a room, but will be able to get the game on at least one TV. If we achieve our standard numbers of 100+, they have told us we should be able to take over a private room. The more people we have, the earlier they get there, the better of we'll be, so if you can, pleaseby Josh 03 - Hockey

Re: cornell v golden showers, game 1 - 18 years ago
Maybe this has been covered and I missed it, but after the McCutcheon goal, listening to the Cornell PA announcer in the background, it didn't sound like Arthur. Anyone?by Josh 03 - Hockey
Re: Heart Association link for Feb 3 - 18 years ago
Was so excited when I got amass mailer from work just now that I was the first to realize this conincidence. But sadly for me, I was beaten to the punch. My e-mail even came along with a quote from the First Lady! On Friday, February 3, 2006, Americans nationwide will celebrate the third annual National Wear Red Day by wearing red to show their support for women’s heart disease awareness. Thby Josh 03 - Hockey
Re: Jerseys? - 18 years ago
How can Bâby's Red 21 still be sitting there?! Seems like fate tempting me to switch my order. If only red weren't cursed.by Josh 03 - Hockey
Re: Jerseys? - 18 years ago
Thanks, dshaw, for starting the post in desperation, and for KenP for posting the info this morning. Dshaw...did the desperation to get a jersey keep you in the know? Anyone that wasn't on the ball this morning seems destined for a Red jersey. Glad I signed on this morning! I ended up with #17, Matt McRae. And Krantz too.by Josh 03 - Hockey
