I get the F, I think. What's the P?

Instead of the usual "FYP" - Fixed Your Post - it was Fixed USCHO's Post.

So apparently there was a line last night in Bartels to scoop up Harvard tickets that were still for sale. The Alumni Association (on Facebook) called them: "devoted Lynah Faithful"

Well, at least it's a natural ticket line for a real reason, rather than the choreographed slumber parties that have been organized in recent years.

Ok, I need help. I'm bringing down a couple of SU grads for the game tonight. We'd like to eat somwhere convenient to get to the rink, where we can watch the beginning of the SU-ND basketball game. It starts at 6 PM, so I figure we can see the first half-hour, or so, of their game. So food, convience, and TV with SU bball ae the requirements. Any suggestions?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think The Chapter House has food anymore, other than awesome popcorn. I would suggest Ruloff's or CTB, which are even more convenient to the rink. And getting even closer, I'm pretty sure you can get food in the Regent Lounge at the Statler hotel as well, and they have TVs around the bar.

This is my opinion only if Harvard sucks, which I neglected to mention.

Thanks, the Regent Lounge seems the best idea yet. Especially if no food at The Chapter House. Having graduated in '67, how do I know? But I called the Regent, the game will be on, we can park first and walk to the game later. Everyone's happy.

Thanks again, I knew I could count on all of ya.

On another note, this article was just posted to the ECAC website. I am happy that there is still room for honesty in journalism:

Harvard really does have a spectacular record of fail in the Beanpot.

Since 1999 they are (1-12) in SFs. Needless to say they lost their only final in that span (in 2008). 1-13 .071 in title-contention games. Nice job, boys.

Harvard A's are easy, but they're anything but "cheap."

In a shocking development, the Crimson are losing in the third period of their BP SF.

Harvard audio is at WHRB's site. The announcers sound prepubescent but the sound quality is about 9.3 BSRs (British Standard Redcasts).

The only guy complaining is the trophy maker. He had to scratch "Harvard" off of the 4th place line where he engraved it before the games started figuring it was efficient. He also engraved "Boston" on the 1st and 2d place lines, so don't feel too bad for him. Not everything went to waste.

As we wait for the obligatory, why are you worrying about PWR, we have to win the ECAC to get a bid.:-D And that's probably correct. Even if we beat Union in 2 weeks, if we then lose the ECAC, we'll probably be back where we are now. And that's not good enough to get a bid.

Even if we have a chance at an at-large bid by beating Union, it does not eliminate the need for Cornell to make a very deep run into the ECACs to even have a chance at the NCAA Tournament. I've got tickets to AC, so I'm not complaining.

Can we just stipulate that if I spent long enough with the calculators, I would be be able to find a scenario where Cornell gets an at-large bid, or are you going to make me go through the motions? :)

I vote "Make him go through the motions."

Really? We're tied for 15 right now (falling to 17th on tiebreakers). We only have to move up 2 places to get an at large bid, past teams we're already tied with, since in my what-if scenario only the AHA auto-bid will come from outside the top 16. If our only loss is in the ECAC championship to a non-TUC (easy enough) while I make all the teams around us lose all their remaining games, it seems pretty obvious to me that we'd end up in the top 15.

Look, don't get too serious about this. I said I doubt it, in a play on your words. This was a joke, following Age's long running comments. I still doubt it, mainly because every time you have someone lose, someone else wins, and that gums up everything. I didn't say it was impossible, just that I doubt it. I say that somewhat in jest, and more based upon my feeling that there is not a reasonable path for us to get a bid by losing. If it happens, I'll be ecstatic, but I'm not counting on it.

Oh god, see, now you got me being serious.scared I've got to stop before I really end up trying to defend a point that I made in jest and that I don't care about. I'm bolt

What an excellent discovery! I have found a rare Harvard fan. This endangered species rarely ventures out of its natural habitat in order to attend a sporting event. Similar to a beached whale, this one must have gotten lost in order to end up here at eLynah.

Ill-advisedly throwing fish would never come back to haunt us.

Aside: For those who listened to the Yale-Harvard broadcast, it was nice to hear a certain level of respect from Harvard for Cornell and the other ECAC teams as opposed to the fans of other ECAC teams who apparently forget their history from more than three years ago.

Friday's ECAC semifinal will mark Harvard and Cornell's 11th ECAC Tournament encounter in the 17 years of the Schafer Era, Harvard won three of them (2002, 2006, & 2008). Cornell prevailed in the other seven (1996, 1997, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2005, & 2010).

Union seems to forget that it does. Their fans refer to programs like RPI and SLU as "bottom feeders" because two years in a row Union has won the Jell-O Mold. Their bloggers have them already hoisting the Whitelaw "trophy" (as they call it) in Boardwalk Hall. They seem to forget that they have had a program since 1975 that took 35 years to accomplish anything of note.

I remember that. It was my freshman year.

It was back in the day when the fish were thrown between the 2nd and 3rd periods. Also, they let people in for free after the second period. When they opened the side doors, two guys rushed down the aisle between D & E and threw that thing onto the ice. Spectacular.

Okay. bnr24 and I will join in with it. I will print off several copies of it to pass around for the Harvard game. I have a large printing quota at my law school and I have not begun to use any of it, so I can think of no better use. If it is as easy as people say to move around in Boardwalk Hall, it should be easy to pass them out to have a decent density of fish pictures before the game. Plus, printing off fish pictures is easier than getting a sizable volume of The Cornell Daily Sun to AC.

It’s not like I walk into a classroom and everyone starts clapping. It’s still Harvard. People clap for A’s on a test, or want to.

Their hands must be awfully sore and I never thought of Harvard as such an uproarious place as it must be.

Cornell Sucks
Harvard is going to kick the shit out of Cornell.

Now, now, why are we all so dismissive of this erudite commenter? I'm sure that he has something that he can offer. Perhaps he would be kind enough to pick some fish up from the hahbah for all the Faithful. We all know that we will need them.

Kidding aside, DO NOT THROW FISH IN ATLANTIC CITY or any place other than Lynah.

Do what I do for non-hockey Harvard games: bring a sign with a picture of a fish.

How many people join you in that? It's a good idea. It keeps the tradition alive at neutral sites and does not punish Cornell's team.

So far.... 2. And we've only done it 2 or 3 times.

Okay. bnr24 and I will join in with it.

I will be bringing newspapers. I like the fish idea, could it be for when they come on the ice, just like when they are thrown? If that happens, it would be great in Boston as well, and I think it would make a impact there. I'm not sure there will be enough Harvard fans in AC to annoy them. However, I still like newspaper for the intros. We can have both, and could coordinate distribution.

I like the idea of both!! I'm sure Aaron will chime in at some point, but coordination is definitely possible!!

Why does it have to be The Cornell Daily Sun? Surely The Atlantic City Trashy Celebrity Sex Scandal and Sensationalized Crime Daily Tabloid (or whatever it is they call the local paper) would work just as well?
