Friday's out of town scoreboard:

ECACHL
Harvard 3 Clarkson 4
Dartmouth 4 SLU 6

Non-Conference
Brown 1 St. Cloud 4
Wayne St. 2  Union 2
Western Mich. 2 Colgate 2
Holy Cross 3 RPI 2

And Yale is getting spanked 8-1 at UMD still playing in the 3rd.  I'm listening to the Duluth announcers who are typical midwest homers ("7-1 good guys!") and they're having a grand old time rubbing it in.  "I don't know who the player of the game is...I think they all are."  "Is there anybody who hasn't scored yet?"  They went off on how Brown playing St. Cloud is about as exciting as Brown's concrete arena.  The arena PA guy announced a penalty for Yale as being for Harvard.  "All Ivy's look alike anyway."

And UMD makes it 9-1, "dogs" on their 56th shot.  Someone should tell them that the team they're playing are also the Bulldogs.

Other games of note:
BU beat Denver 1-0, Minnesota knocks off Michigan, and UMass beat CC 4-3.  Good week for UMass already, with 2 wins vs. top 5 teams.

That really amuses me.  Our radio announcers are better than that, though, right?  Most nights, I don't get to listen to them (given that I'm at the game ;-)  ), so I can't say for sure myself.
Is next year here yet?

D'oh!  Thanks Rich.  Going back and forth so many times on the scoreboard, figures I'd make a dumb mistake.  Now I guess I see how cell-phone delivered results can be wrong.

To a UMD graduate they do.  They look like "employers." :-D

PU 3, QU 2 2d Intermission. I turned the game on just in time to see the 2d period end with Q on the PP. They have an extra man for ~1:30 to start the 3d.

Interesting.  QU was up 2-0 on two 5x3 goals.

Princeton killed the PP to open the period, killed another that immediately followed it and then scored on the first shift after the penalty kill. A few minutes later they scored again, this time on the PP themselves.

5-2 Princeton, 11:15 to go.

RPI leading Providence in the consolation game of their own tournament.  3-1 with about 8:00 left.

Announcers just commented that RPI is playing a "Cornell-like strategy" of increasing the pace of the game if you have the lead in the 3rd.

I think that Colgate won in OT, after tying the score in the last 5:00.
The Rodent-Sparty game ended in a 2-2 tie.

Brown showing some spunk vs. St. Cloud.  Tied 4-4 right now.  I swear that all these midwest broadcasters are clones of each other.  They sound like the exact same people that did the Yale-UMD game last night.  The color guy is "oohing" and "ahhhing" with each SCSU shot.  I also find it amusing how the Minnesota state schools all plug into the rink PA microphone when they announce something.

BU had a nice comeback to force OT vs. CC after being down 5-2 in the 3rd.  CC's Sterling got both a hat-trick and the OT winner.

#2 Wisconsin beats #1 Michigan with a goal with about 2 minutes left.  Michigan gets swept this weekend at home.

Brown and SCSU going to OT

Brown ties St. Cloud 4-4.  Good praise for Brown from the SCSU announcers.  Even the color guy whose general comment after each shot, save, or penalty was "Daaaaooohhh..."

With that, the ECAC(HL) goes 6-4-3 out of conference for the week.  2-3-2 vs. "Big 4" teams.
