Come on, lighten up and enjoy life.

These are kids like you and they make mistakes. Pointing that out is fine, but calling them names???

Sit back and enjoy a team coming together and maybe producing more than anyone, except diehards, would have thought 3 months ago.

Jim, bud, lighten up and take a joke?

You know me; I'm generally one of the more positive people on here. (Well, unless the drop pass on the powerplay comes up.) Trust me, I'm not "calling people names" in the sense that I'm seriously criticizing 99% of their actions. It's a humorous expression, one I have used before on this forum, to express general discontentment with taking penalties, especially a large amount of them or at inopportune times. Understand that I am, at times, simply Saying Words. And, as far as Saying Words go, crimebaggery is a very fun word to say. ("It's not actually a word" it is now, that's how language works!)

Next you're gonna say we can't call the opposing goalie a sieve...

Sorry, but it was hard for me to realize it was a joke when you use a term that I couldn't even find a meaning for. Then when you mentioned a specific player, well...a joke I couldn't see. I'm sure if I saw you in person I'd understand, but that's also why they make emojis, you can show your human expression better with them.

And yes although I think mentioning sieve was kind of silly, I look at it as hyperbole.

I'd call this a generational thing, since iirc Jim has got to be well past 60 at this point (correct me if I'm wrong Jim).

Not that hard to find a definition that clearly matches stereaxs intent. Google search in Ai mode (bolding is mine for emphasis)

Quote from: Google says"what is the meaning of crimebags in slang"

In general slang, the term crimebags is not a standard dictionary-defined word but is typically used as a playful or derogatory mashup of "crime" and the common pejorative suffix "-bag" (similar to dirtbag, scumbag, or sleazebag).

Depending on the context, it usually means:

A Petty or Incompetent Criminal: It often describes someone who frequently engages in minor or poorly executed illegal activities.

A "Contemptible" Person: Similar to "dirtbag," it can be used to insult someone's character, implying they are untrustworthy or "trashy" because of their lifestyle or behavior.

Comedic Context: In some internet circles (such as TikTok), it has been used as a humorous nickname for pets or people who are "committing crimes" in a non-serious way (e.g., a cat knocking a vase over).

If a word has bag, bags, baggery etc at the end and you've not seen it before, it's likely in that category of derogatory mashup, and not something that serious.

Besides, wasn't it clear that "...calling players crimebags when they are committing needless crimes" was a funny way of referring to taking penalties?

Hell I've  been watching CU hockey for more than 60 years.

And as much as possible I try and stay away from google. Loved it when it started, but they eventually went to the dark side. Found it on duck duck go, but not as well described.
