Those last two power plays were horrible. It really sucks playing a team like BU because they have all the skill of one of the best teams in the country but you get none of the credit in the NPI. But, we outplayed them and still haven't given up more than two goals in a game, so some stuff to be positive about. Sweep next weekend please

Tough loss, but we had every chance to win that game. We should have had more than one in the 2nd period, and not capitalizing on some of those chances bit us in the rear end.

Hiscock third star. Yegorov second. Eiserman first.

hard to complain that much about a power play that got a clean shot that hit the post flush but also yikes

I've seen enough of these BU games to know what to expect. Always close with a lot of stuff going BU's way. I've seen BU have plenty of meltdowns over the past ~10 years and it's part of the reason they haven't won anything since Parker was a coach, but for whatever reason, they play their best games against Cornell. That said, there are two very winnable games next weekend in the North Country to close out the fall part of the schedule.

They do match up well against Cornell, for whatever reason... recruiting profile and overall talent level is different from most ECAC teams... BU tend to play a little more pro-style while Cornell is more of a fundamentals grinder... we can be a little more predictable at times, not as much room for creativity.

My cope: If we have to split with them I'd prefer we win the NCAA meeting.

Yes.  We could have gotten daylight and did not.

Teachable moment for a young team.  One takeaway though: we can skate with a very fast and talented team.

Ding ding ding.

Good game overall. Small mistakes - for the most part. Yegorov being hellbent on killing us didn't help. Great saves from both goalies; good effort until the last few minutes by our guys. That kind of effort will win you a lot of games overall. Didn't tonight, but it was still fun as hell.

My cope: Cournoyer didn't get scored on by a guy named Hiscock. So like, who really won here? ;)

Cornell totally outplayed BU. BU was a dumpster fire aside from its goalie. How much of that was due to Cornell I'm not sure. Anyway, obviously Cornell lost despite this and will be in (at best) perilous at-large shape for the rest of the season. I'm impressed with the players and Casey though. Better than I expected given the turnover and uncertainty.

I certainly was thinking this too but my brain didn't go to the Anthony Angelo "these two are likely to meet later this year" level.  Anthony seemed fine for a first timer.
"When we came off, [Bitz] said, 'Thank God you scored that goal,'" Moulson said. "He would've killed me if I didn't."
