even having all the upset teams win

If its correct now.

Playing with it a bit:

If we win out, we finish 7th.
If we win Friday but lose Saturday, we finish 9th.
If we lose Friday, we finish 11th.

I couldn't find any variant that had us in any other position.

If we're voting, put me down for a vote to win out.
Seconded!

I agree, but there is a downside.  If we finish 7th, that means we'd be bracketed with the 2-seed.  That's North Dakota, which means we'd be playing in Sioux Falls.

If we finish 9th, we're in Michigan's regional.  That's going to be in the east.

If we finish 11th, where we end up depends on Denver.  We'll be in MSU's regional, but the location of that regional can vary.  If Denver wins NCHC, they finish 5th.  They'll play in Western MIchigan's regional, which would be in Loveland, so MSU's regional will be in the east.  If Denver loses, they finish 6th, which puts them in MSU's (and our) regional.  So that regional would be in Loveland.

And FTR, I couldn't find a variant where an ECAC school finishes 8th and we finish 9th.  So there's no scenario where we finish 9th but have to be swapped out for another 3rd-band school.

Doesn't the committee often not strictly follow seeding and instead aims to increase attendance?

My "vote" for winning out is 5% about wanting a two-seed in the tournament and 95% about wanting a third straight Whitelaw trophy.

That comes and goes like the weather.  If it's a Hockey East school, they'll move them to help with attendance.  But otherwise generally not (No, I'm not jaded).

Additionally, Loveland and Sioux Falls won't have any attendance issues.  So there's no incentive to move western schools out of an eastern bracket.

Just confirming we are locked now? I can find results that yield a very narrow difference between us and Wisconsin (55.16 vs 5.09). Not sure if there's a way to get it even closer than that or flip the advantage entirely.

Right, but what about moving us to Albany or rearranging the bracket in some other way to boost attendance out East?

Certainly possible, but the committee doesn't usually do that if it will help the ECAC in any way.

Told ya.  I'm jaded.

As per CHN's matrix, the lowest we can fall is 11. Still running but I think we're locked into the NCAA berth.

That was my conclusion.

I just found scenarios where we finish 6th.  If we win out and Denver beats UMD, Denver finishes 5th and we finish 6th.

That means we're in MSUs regional and stay east.  Best of all worlds.

We'd play either Penn State or Wisconsin.
