Quote from: jkahnBrenden Locke of the Cobourg Cougars (OJHL) has committed to Cornell.  Per the Cougars' website he's a forward (Heisenberg has him at L/C) 16g-18a-30PIM in 41 games and is 5'10" and 176 lbs.
Congrats and welcome to Brenden.
He has gaudy scoring numbers albeit at a low level.  He also retweeted this: https://twitter.com/BonksMullet/status/569889749206331393

Quote from: Jim HylaNHL Central Scouting's mid-term rankings have NCAA connections aplenty. Cornell recruits Matthew Caims (#93) & Kyle Betts (#157) make the list.

Yeah, and 5 out of the top 10 NCAA players either already play for or are committed to play for BU.

BU's recruiting lately has seemingly been off the charts

Quote from: scoop85New recruit -- Cam Donaldson, F, The Gunnery School.

Here's what Jeff Cox from the SB Nation College Hockey Blog said about Donaldson last December:

Cameron Donaldson, Jr., LC, 7/14/98 - Despite being undersized he had the most upside of any player on the ice all day in Exeter. He flies around the ice, he's got great speed and good hands and is agile on his feet. He was the catalyst of a very good young line that Chris Baudo threw out there with '99 Zach Pellegrino and '98 Matt Danner. Donaldson does a terrific job of distributing the puck and being patient enough and skilled enough to draw defenders his way before finding open teammates.
The local newspaper had an article on Cam Donaldson, who is second in scoring in New England prep hockey, and whose coach calls him "one of the top players in all of New England."

Can't wait until the drills to train him to be a fourth-line grinder.

You mean like we did with Anthony Angello this year.:-D

Do others reading eLynah have a hard time believing this?

Quote from: some Eli trying to channel George PlimptonAnd then there were the athletes. After fierce pressure from the athletic department, I had to admit a highly sought-after French Canadian hockey recruit. He had crappy grades, dismal scores, and his essay consisted of one sentence scribbled hastily in pencil: "I want to bée a great hockey player." To add insult to injury, he decided to go to Boston University.

Which I found in this excerpt.

I don't know where he's headed next in his diarrhea diaries but his second offering was also featured in the the Post.

I apologize to anyone looking for info regarding our recruits here as this post could fit in the "John Spenser is" Forum or in many other threads.  We don't have or need a Yale sucks thread.
"When we came off, [Bitz] said, 'Thank God you scored that goal,'" Moulson said. "He would've killed me if I didn't."

Hard time believing? Not for a minute. My take is he had to change some details to protect the guilty.  It was really a Texas football player who chose instead to go to Harvard.::moon::

Cornell recruit Cam Donaldson is one of several college recruits mentioned in this game write-up.

"Donaldson, a '98 senior left wing committed to Cornell, was the best player for the visitors. He's very quick and crafty and has continued to get better. He was a very nice pickup for the Big Red.'

We all seem to have missed this commit from 6 weeks ago: Morgan Barron, F, St. Andrews Prep.

Getting towards the end of their season, we do seem to have some potential scorers in the pipeline.  It's anybody's guess if it will translate into D-1 production, but:

Proj Player, GP, G, (Proj: projection of player's G/GP percentage over a 35-game season)

32 Donaldson, 32, 29
23 Barron 65, 43
18 Malott, 50, 26
17 Betts, 57, 28
17 Mullin, 63, 30

What's the coefficient you have to multiple Proj by to get their D-1 production?  .7?  .5?  .3?  We'll see.

Well, according to the System(TM) c = (26-N)/26, where N is the alphabetical ordinal ranking of the first letter of Head Coach's last name (e.g., A=1, B=2, etc.).

I wish that would work.

Well, then the projected numbers would be:

8.6 Donaldson
6.2 Barron
4.8 Malott
4.8 Mullin

Not terrible, but not particularly impressive either. Be careful what you wish for.
