someone else will remember who this was but there was a player when I was at Cornell who had no goals his entire career. Senior year, he lined up an empty-netter and a teammate vultured it by redirecting a shot that was already on target. Burke?
I remember a game, possibly a senior night, but certainly very late in a season where we were handily beating someone, and they sent a senior with no goals out for about 4 shifts in a row at the end of the third period.  Everyone was doing everything they could to set him up.  After about the third shift, he skated over to the bench, absolutely gassed, but nobody would let him on the bench - all the players were just waving him back into the ice.

In the movie version, he scored on that 4th shift.  Alas....

When I hear "Cornell player with no goals in his career", the name that comes to mind is Christian Felli.
That sounds about right - I'm certainly old enough!  The last two home games that year were a 3-1 win and a 4-2 loss,  neither of which fit my memory of a relatively meaningless situation in a relatively decided game.  My memory has been known to be less than 100% reliable, however!

Sans the empty-netter thing, which I don't remember happening, this does sound like Felli.  His senior season was 1994-95, and Cornell's last home game that season was an 8-2 romp over Union.  I do remember him getting a lot of ice time toward the end, with the Lynah Faithful cheering for him like crazy, but he did not score, in large part because he and several of his teammates couldn't stop laughing about the whole thing.
If you lead a good life, go to Sunday school and church, and say your prayers every night, when you die, you'll go to LYNAH!

yeah, that's the one.  I had him as a '92 instead of '95 for some reason.

He wasn't a senior, apparently, but i'm pretty sure the guy I'm thinking of was Dave Burke. Didn't score until late in his Junior year despite basically playing 30 games a year from his first year on campus.

I didn't realize how anxiously everyone was awaiting my thoughts on last night's game! Sorry to keep everyone waiting.

Without further ado...(drumroll, please)...

Last night's effort was probably the most complete performance by Cornell in any game I've watched this season. They got pucks to the net, had guys in close for tips and rebounds, the defense tied guys up and boxed guys out, the goaltending was solid. The only game I watched this season where Cornell may have played better was the Lynah East game (which Cornell lost). I am especially happy for the seniors, who have been through so much.

upprdeck

pretty much the same game as the first clarkson effort..  they have played Clark/Quin/Harv/BU/ND all pretty well this year.. its the bottom feeders they have let the guard down.. pretty much what Coach said in the pre-game.. too bad had they finished off those teams they would have had a  great record,

Some of that is that they have nice group of players.. still way too young, but they also dont really have that dominant player who turns those close games around in a good way.

I graduated  in 1978 and have no recollection of Jeff Roche. That was a high-scoring era of college hockey, so to score that few goals in that many games back then would have been pretty tough to do.

I remember the name.  I don't remember his play at all.  But TBH, there were plenty of stars on the '78-'79 team.

In my memory, it's Blair Ettles, who could barely skate because of a knee injury earlier in the season. Maybe it was both of them? Man, Union was awful.

I never realized Jabob MacDonald had so few goals. Of course, he's also had some NHL appearances so obviously goals aren't the only important metric for a defenseman who gets to that level. And Kirill never did strike me as a goal scorer when he played so not surprised he showed up on this list.
