Quote from: George64Interesting article in NYT on Cornell Tech.

"...a retired lawyer who lives on Roosevelt Island, recently worked with Cornell Tech students to address a daily problem for older people: how to carry a shopping bag when holding onto a walker? They came up with a 3-D-printed hinge to attach to a walker."

So.... it's a hook.

This should mean less competition for Cornell Tech in terms of staff and faculty (sorry, I couldn't resist...I think the situation in the news story below majorly HARVARDS ).

No Amazon HQ in NY

I was wondering if Amazon being there would be good to set up a conveyor belt from Cornell Tech.

Guess we'll never know.  Also, Amazon can die in a fire, I'm glad they aren't coming.

I am trying hard to interpret this article given all the innuendos it seems to include. Was his departure connected to Amazon's pullout of NYC? Did his comments on the campus imply that he was frustrated with the slow rate of completion or vagueness of execution of that vision? The reader is left wondering. ::headscratch emoji::

Interesting NYT article about technology sector in NYC, with several mentions of Cornell Tech.

The Sun gets the story and provides information and quotes. A Sun writer may not have the background (or the moxie / chutzpah / WAGing of a veteran reporter) and doesn't feel comfortable saying, "Dean H was close to Amazon. Sources close said he was disturbed by the anti-tech atmosphere in NYC, pissed at AOC, felt Cornell Tech has been slowing after the initial inspired founding years, and when MIT got wind, swooped in to bring him home to Boston, he took his Red Sox cap out of the closet and called the moving van." Something like that. If that's what it really was. It may be MIT promised fewer hours, a chance to rise higher in coming years. Cornell Tech is in its go-go early years and maybe the pace was too much.

Stanford still has a lead on Cornell in terms of entrepreneurship. At least Cornell is making an effort now.

The Sun can always do follow-ups. Be nice if there was someone assigned to weekly updates on the Chapter House. Of interest to alums maybe more than to undergrads. For the Class of 2019, the Chapter House has only existed as a burned out hulk when they arrived.

Trademark it. Make T-shirts, ball caps, and the short-shorts with one word on each butt cheek.

A truly wealth man who lived modestly and was committed to the common good. In other words, the anti-Trump.

Excellent webinar about  Cornell Tech.  Dean/Vice Provost Morrisett strikes me as an outstanding academic and administrator.  Nice to see the connectivity linking Cornell, Cornell Tech and Weill Cornell — One Cornell.
