Re: Harvard 2 @ Cornell 3 postgame thread (11/10/06) - 17 years ago
I think in order for college hockey to remain a factor in producing future pro-level players, the NCAA rules need to reflect the NHL rules (including the soft hooking, intereference, etc.). It will be very hard for schools to recruit high quality talent if the pro-teams don't think college players can make the transition, and therefore don't draft/sign them.by Cactus12 - Hockey
Re: Harvard 2 @ Cornell 3 postgame thread (11/10/06) - 17 years ago
Agreed... the PP was horrible (esp. first unit). I can never figure out why we refuse to set a big forward right in front of the net. College hockey goalies just don't appear to have the experience to stop much of anything through an effective screen. Also with the tight officiating, if they try to push us out, there's a good chance they'll take an additional interference or crosscheck call or w/by Cactus12 - Hockey

From our side (sec A), the Bitz trip was pretty blatant... While on the ground he extended his stick (trying for the puck?) and caught the Harvard guy's skate. It was a bad penalty to take with less than 4 min left in the game.by Cactus12 - Hockey

At the end of her dance (which we students find very enjoyable) she does the arm cross flip-off to the other team's bench or fans: the arm motion can be observed on this angry sailor that's what they got mad about...by Cactus12 - Hockey

The sharks website has a video recap of the game including the fight... I wouldn't want to fight Murrayby Cactus12 - Hockey

I've been entirely unimpressed with clarkson. Every time I've seen them play here it's the same undisciplined nonsense. I wish we didn't play into it as much as we do. Note* The point of this statement is that I don't anticipate any different this season.by Cactus12 - Hockey

LeNeveu is in San Antonio (AHL). He hasn't been recalled yet this season.by Cactus12 - Hockey
Re: Section O - 17 years ago
I heard half of G. I didn't think this would be true, but during the York "game" i saw a bunch of people towards the front rows who were not particularly happy each time we scored (just sat there, no clapping)by Cactus12 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 11 York 1 - 17 years ago
My sentiment exactly. It's great to win a game 1-0. But a team needs to have that ability to win 6-5 sometimes. (esp. with tight officiating) To answer your question, York was significantly worse than U18. Nevertheless, I don't think last year's team scores 11 goals on them.by Cactus12 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 11 York 1 - 17 years ago
I think a few things stood out, despite the slaughter (and it's my belief that you can take some things from these games). Our offence was much quicker. Granted York's defence was not challenging us, but we were making nice, quick passes and better decisions with the puck in their zone. Our defence started off shakey, but seemed to tighten up as the game progressed. Goaltending was fine. I thiby Cactus12 - Hockey

Re: Sea of Red/White Out? - 17 years ago
Last season, we had a painfully slow and painfully annoying, repeating "siiiiieeeeevvvveeee" chant going in section A for about 10 minutes straight. Not exactly creative, but we saw the opposing goalie glance up a few times- it was def. getting to his head.by Cactus12 - Hockey
Re: Message from the Ticket Office - 17 years ago
Athletics is a mess. They sent that email twice to all the students with line numbers as well. Then they sent a correction email saying to ignore the initial messages.by Cactus12 - Hockey
Re: List of current Pros - 17 years ago
Ok, I've got the facts in order now... Daniel Pegoraro - Texas Wildcatters (ECHL) He played for a little while with the Hamilton Bulldogs (AHL) but was released and now plays for Texas.by Cactus12 - Hockey
Re: List of current Pros - 17 years ago
EDIT: He scored against Toronto... apparently I can't read Pegoraro - Hamilton Bulldogs (AHL)??? He scored a powerplay goal in their season opener (unless it's a different Daniel Pegoraro). Doesn't appear on their roster thoughby Cactus12 - Hockey

So they actually chose in front of everyone?by Cactus12 - Hockey
Re: Reminder - Hockey Ticket Preregistration - 17 years ago
Are you actually sure they gave both zero and one equal chances of being drawn for the first digit? I was under the impression they just chose one of the full, preregistered numbers at random (not using a digit by digit system). Or alternatively they could have had 8 zeroes and 4 one's, for example in their drawing pool for the first digit.by Cactus12 - Hockey
Re: Reminder - Hockey Ticket Preregistration - 17 years ago
Were there any major problems with the system two years ago (04-05)? It seemed to have worked descently (at least from my perspective having not gotten tickets in 03-04). I thought that last year was just poor location selection.by Cactus12 - Hockey

There are plenty of real hockey fans on Long Island too. (Just for the sake of clarity). NYR in 07!by Cactus12 - Hockey

The red zamboni is in fact shiny and new. It first appeared last season.by Cactus12 - Hockey
Re: Reminder - Hockey Ticket Preregistration - 17 years ago
I think one way to reduce this is make everyone with a line number actually wait in line (no holding four) and also display their Cornell ID (matching the line number). It would take a really good friend to wait all night for tickets and then give them away... it'll happen, but to less of an extent.by Cactus12 - Hockey
Re: Reminder - Hockey Ticket Preregistration - 17 years ago
calgARI'07 They know about it, but appear to think there is something strategic about getting late numbers. Not necessarily... I think a good amount of people will preregister and never pick up line numbers. (Perhaps they didn't realize the price or the fact that they would have to wait on line or whatever else)by Cactus12 - Hockey
