It worked for me this morning. Wow. That guy had no chance against Doug - I don't think he got his arms up to protect his face, let alone return any fire.

The Sharks version [www.sjsharks.com]
[q]...On defense Doug Murray made his season debut as Josh Gorges was given the night off.
...
Minutes after the Sharks made it a 2-0 lead, Patrick Rissmiller looked to make the smart defensive play and chip the puck out of the Sharks zone. As soon as he cleared the puck, Lightning defenseman Cory Sarich took a run at Rissmiller, knocking the winger to the ice much to the chagrin of Murray. Sarich, who had sent Thornton to the ice in the first period with a vicious elbow, was challenged by Murray who had clearly seen enough. Murray clearly had the upper hand in the fight, landing several punches and eventually taking Sarich to the ice....

Too bad college players are too "soft" for the NHL... :)

The sharks website has a video recap of the game including the fight... I wouldn't want to fight Murray

Currently on Versus (0-0 in the first).

I think I missed something. When did Doug change to number 3?

Whoa, I missed that, odd.

Doug has 4 minutes or so so far in the first.

Announcer mentions a great play by Murray stopping at the top of the offensize zone to pull a back-checker to him and away from the play along the boards.

He looks good, save one bad giveaway at the begining of the game.

Did a web search on Doug and found this on opentopia
[q]Doug Murray (born March 12,1980 in Bromma, Sweden) is an NHL hockey player, currently playing defense for the San Jose Sharks. A stay-at-home player who can dish out bone-crunching hits, he was drafted in the 8th round, 241st overall by the Sharks in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
From the 1999-2000 season to the 2002-2003 season he played for Cornell University. While at Cornell, he served as Captain his senior year and was twice named a first team All-American. In the 2003-2004 and the locked-out 2004-2005 season he played for San Jose's minor league affiliate, the Cleveland Barons, and contributed both offensively and defensively, leading the team in plus/minus and being second on the team in points for a defenseman. He also served as an alternate captain. [/q]
