I thought they said Derraugh would be around through next weekend? Maybe I misheard. Anyway, the Dartmouth game is the only one this weekend since Harvard has covid issues.by Weder - Hockey

mountainred Weder dbilmes For as long as I can remember, Cornell opened its Ivy season against Columbia, playing one weekend in NY and one weekend in Ithaca. Is this the first year that the schedule has changed? Yes, though it was supposed to start last season. The goal was to reduce the number of back-to-back games. Part of the issue had to be that every other league starts in-league plby Weder - Other Sports

scoop85 Al DeFlorio Ken711 Syracuse Will Face Cornell on December 29th Instead of Georgia Tech. Syracuse basketball's game against Georgia Tech was postponed from Wednesday, December 29th, but the Orange has already found a replacement opponent for that day. Syracuse will face Cornell, which was originally scheduled for December 21st. That game was postponed with both teams facing a COVID-19 oby Weder - Other Sports
Re: Cornell announces universal vaccinate-or-test mandate for athletics event attendance - 2 years ago
marty French Rage Good. They didn't do this already? When I read it I thought it might be an updated version of the policy. Is the wording regarding a vaccination option for younger fans new? I think previously they were requiring proof of vaccination only at events where they were allowing 100% capacity (men's hockey and wrestling). Due to COVID-19 concerns and safety protocols within the Clarion women's and Hartford men's programs, the Big Red basketball doubleheader on Dec. 28 has been canceled. Both Cornell teams are actively looking for replacement games. #YellCornell— Cornell Big Red (@CornellSports) December 22, 2021by Weder - Other Sports

Trotsky BeeeejThey have officially given Section C back to the studentsThis is great news. I loved my C seats, but it was a shame that the students were broken up, and it fucked up coordination between between AB and DE. I will look forward to sitting across the ice and watching an entire wall of students cheering in unison. After the Plague. Visiting team tickets have been in E for a few seby Weder - Hockey

mountainred No idea what happened to Collin. Those teams had some amazing guard depth (Dale, Reeves, 'ski, Gore), but Collin would have played some big minutes. Coury let me tell folks the Big Red had a guy coming off the bench who started at Kentucky! For some reason, Billy Gillispie would start Mark each half, pull him at the first TV timeout, then not play him for the rest of the half. iby Weder - Other Sports

Re: Yet another collegetown bar bites the dust - 2 years ago
Iceberg billhoward At some point this will be a dead forum because how many bars remain in Collegetown that can still go under? Hardly any. I was there last month visiting a friend in grad school and all the spots I had in my head (i.e. Ruloff's) were gone. We actually had to go somewhere downtown for a relaxing place that wasn't an undergrad hangout spot. It's really too bad that bars such asby Weder - John Spencer Is Dead

Cornell played pretty well in stretches against Q, but they need more offensive threats other than the top line. The win over Princeton isn’t looking quite as good a couple of weeks later, but I think Cornell will continue to get better as the season goes along. The D is really young as well and will improve. CU2007 Do we really tarp off the stadium because of low attendance?! The Ivy League’s Jacksonville Jaguars It doesn’t look terrible, to be honest. It’s several rows at the top of the Crescent. (It’s at least better than the tarp with the Under Armour ad that they have/had at the Yale Bowl.) Who knows how it will look after an Ithaca winter, though.by Weder - Other Sports
Re: Cornell Football 2021 - Sun editorials, op-eds - 2 years ago
upprdeck Yup. the fact they dont let these kids compete for a NC when all the other sports can is beyond dumb.. it would help attendance all over the ivies as well as better players would come if given a chance for a NC. The Ivy rules are completely random. Basketball starts at the same time as everyone else and plays the same number of games, yet almost every other Ivy sport has later startsby Weder - Other Sports

billhoward From Mark Wolcott '83 in the Cornell Daily Sun this week, more on the perceived deterioration of Cornell sports and facilities than football. Mark Wolcott Cornell soccer has had a spectacular season and are nationally ranked. The only problem is that our soccer facility is located almost next to the Vet School and they rarely draw more than a couple hundred fans. For years Corneby Weder - Other Sports

David Harding Does anyone know whether there is significant attendance from out-of-town? I live in Illinois but typically spending Thanksgiving with my sister in the area. This was first year with an MSG game that I decided I just didn't want to travel. I assume there is a decent number of folks in the Boston-DC corridor who go. Rita lhayes Listening via WHCU. No engineer? Ads interrupt the game, interviews - like they were scheduled/programmed in advance. Missed the second goal. Jason doesn’t seem to know. ESPN plus broadcast isn't perfect either. had a close up of the cornell bench and missed like 20 sec or so of on ice action. weird. Iceberg Well, in some odd scheduling, Sucks is hosting a conference game against Brown tonight. And throughout the week pretty much everyone else in the conference will have at least one OOC game (mostly against HEA teams). Would be nice if the conference came out with a positive record by the end of this week. Harvard does this to account for the Beanpot. (Avoids playing 3 games in 4 nights.)by Weder - Hockey
