2nd period just ended. BTW, heard BU is up 4-1 now (?)by Killer - Hockey
Re: Game thread: OOT Brown 2-1 - 20 years ago
Brown just went up 2-0. Oops Make that 2-1 a few seconds later as I was writing the postby Killer - Hockey
Re: Game thread: Merrimack 1, Maine 0 (end 1) - 20 years ago
That latter score has big implications. But Fields is gonna have to come up with another 40+ save night to hold them off. And if another pattern holds, BU will only have about 12 SOG themeselves all night.by Killer - Hockey
Re: Game thread: Merrimack 1, Maine 0 (end 1) - 20 years ago
Figured as much. Thanks, Al.by Killer - Hockey
Re: Game thread: Merrimack 1, Maine 0 (end 1) - 20 years ago
Merrimack is up 1-0 over Maine after 1. If the patter holds, Howard is not in goal tonight. Anyone know?by Killer - Hockey

Working on it. See edits to the previous post. It's a start.by Killer - Hockey
Re: Around the ECAC - 20 years ago
Sucks certainly "jammed" it past Yawn Danis tonight. Sleep well, Danis boy. You know, if Brown survives and we play them again, and if it hasn't been done already and I'm just behind the times, we just might need to write a "Danis-Boy" song to serenade his ass in Albany... Oh, Danis-Boy, the pipes, the pipes are failing you, From off our sticks, the pucks are everyby Killer - Hockey
Re: Clarkson @ Cornell game 1 2004-03-12-FINAL 5-1 Cornell - 20 years ago
Figured as much. Didn't really expect that Merrimack would challenge Maine, regardless of who was in the net.by Killer - Hockey
Re: Clarkson @ Cornell game 1 2004-03-12-FINAL 5-1 Cornell - 20 years ago
Maine won 2-1 over Merrimack. Haven't seen anything to tell me who was in goal. Anyone know if it was Howard?by Killer - Hockey
Re: Clarkson @ Cornell game 1 2004-03-12 - 3 P 5-0 CU - 20 years ago
Looking like that "3/4" comment may be the definitive assessment.by Killer - Hockey
Re: Clarkson @ Cornell game 1 2004-03-12 - 3 P 5-0 CU - 20 years ago
Or Brown, for as long as they lasted.by Killer - Hockey
Re: Clarkson @ Cornell game 1 2004-03-12 - 2 P 4-0 CU - 20 years ago
Hmmm. I picked them in 3 over Brown. But I guessed Danis would come up big tonight, then they'd blow the next 2. Whatever. Long way to go.by Killer - Hockey

Re: Cornell BC ncaa Game winner - 20 years ago
Avash '05 Wrote: eh, I wouldn't do that if I were you/anyone.... (imagine the potential backfires) Agreed. It was a great moment, but let's just savor it ourselves for now. Even if BU manages to stun BC in another, I'd refrain. I mean, we're not sitting with 30 wins in our bank this year. Let's focus on the next two, then the two after that.by Killer - Hockey

Bahnstorm Wrote: I think Dave's was 1.20. I believe that is the right number. With Howard now down to 1.18, we definitely need some help. Unfortunately, I don't know that Merrimack is likely to do it for us. On the positive side, though, it's highly unlikely that Merrimack is going to bump Maine off with a couple of 1-0 wins, and end Howard's season (let's hope he doesn't throw a couplby Killer - Hockey

dss28 Wrote: Killer, hope you can make it!! It all depends on whether I can sell my daughter on it. She's coming back from a week-long school trip to DC Saturday morning. If she's up for the game, I'm there. But she may want to just chill. BTW, for those thinking of catching Sucks in action against the Cats, their loyal fans filled 1,627 of the 2,776 seats Friday night. Now that'by Killer - Hockey

Re: first round playoff scores - 20 years ago
Anyone go to or listen to the Clarkson-Union game? I looked at the box score and saw that Clarkson had 2, not 1, but 2, ENG SHGs midway in the 3rd. Union must have gotten desperate, being down 5-1 after 2, and pulled the goalie for a 2-man advantage when they got a couple of power plays. Not often that you see that, but then to actually have it backfire twice in 1:10. Amazing.by Killer - Hockey
Re: LeNeveu's GAA record in jeopardy? - 20 years ago
With 13:00 left in the 3rd, Howard is throwing a shutout at BC, even surviving 6 PPs. Come on, Eagles, get with the program! ---------------------------------------------------------------- ...and he finishes it off at 3-0, 21 saves.by Killer - Hockey
Re: ice quality - 20 years ago
ninian '72 Wrote: Reminds me of an old story about Ned Harkness when he was coaching at RPI. Apparently, he would adjust ice temparature to compensate for opponents' capabilities. When they faced a team with a lot of speed, the ice temperature would go up, making for a slower surface, and vice versa. It may not be true, but it's fun to believe it is.
