Re: Harvard Photos Are Up - 19 years ago
That's down, eh? What was it at the peak? BTW, you get some really great shots in there. I'm no photo aficionado, but still curious as to what equipment you're using.by Killer - Hockey
Re: Harvard Photos Are Up - 19 years ago
Age, how many shots do you usually take at a game to get the 60 or so you've posted?by Killer - Hockey
Re: BC at Harvard (Sucks) - Tuesday, 11/16 - 19 years ago
Yeah, I know. Saw they only drew 1,700 for the Saturday night game aginst Princeton. What a great bunch of fans, eh? My wife's boss, longtime Harvard fan, and uncle of a BC player, expects it will be mostly the oldtimers Tuesday. See you tomorrow night. BTW, think we're hitting Bartley's (sp?) for a bite before the game. Haven't made it there yet, but my daughter (who's now registered onby Killer - Hockey
Re: USCHO User Poll Redux - 19 years ago
I agree. I voted for the freshman from Alaska-Fairbanks with the 0.957 save percentage. Although McKee's SV% is barely behind Rogers', I think it's pretty amazing to achieve that in your first 5 college games. Don't mean to put pressure on you, Dave, but I think that with your skills and the guys in front of you, we're all expecting that your GAA will stay very low. No surprise to us. Where are your seats? Tix came in the mail yesterday. We're in section 19, row A. Ironically, that sounds like it should be your seat. See you Tuesday.by Killer - Hockey

BC at Harvard (Sucks) - Tuesday, 11/16 - 19 years ago
Anyone thinking of going to see BC play at Harvard this coming Tuesday? If you're in the Boston area, it might be interesting, especially since it provides a chance to see #1 BC, whom we'll play in Florida, up against a common opponent. As far as I know, tix are still available, though the Crimson's 4-point weekend might re-energize some of their fans and make them actually consider going toby Killer - Hockey

French Rage Wrote: Also, why does he mention Reese's parents sitting behind you? Does he think it matters? "oh no, his parents are right there, well now i certainly wont yell stuff at him." Re: Clutch-and-grab: unfair rap on Cornell? - 19 years ago
LOL. Afraid I'd do better on a rugby pitch than on the ice. But I'd still be willing to go one-on-one with that Crimson dude.by Killer - Hockey
Re: Clutch-and-grab: unfair rap on Cornell? - 19 years ago
Well, based on that article we were looking at yesterday in the Crimson, "accurately" isn't anything they emphasize. So why not go for "historically"?by Killer - Hockey
Re: Quiet crowd - 19 years ago
Don't forget that Francoma put Pedro back into Game 7 and almost put the Yankees back into the game at the same time. The crowd was revitalized and Pedro got rocked...all to new cheers of "Who's your daddy?" Trust me, if Pedro stays with the Sox, he'll hear it when he goes to NY. In fact, if he signs with anyone but the Yankees, he'll hear it.by Killer - Hockey
Re: Quiet crowd - 19 years ago
I talked with a couple other Harvard people who were sitting with Reese's parents, but I don't know that they'd be the missing piece to the mystery. They were there with their daughter, whom I believe is a Cornell student and may be dating Reese (I think that's what they said). Didn't really notice who was sitting on the other side of the Reeses, or behind them. BTW, what exactly did the artby Killer - Hockey
Re: signs for harvard game - 19 years ago
There were a handful of Sucks fans there, though they were pretty outnumbered. I was sitting in front of Reese's parents. Nice folks, though I think they were cringing at all the abuse he seemed to be getting from people around them. When the game ended, his mom looked at me, laughed and said, "I hate you people." Guess it's good I wasn't sitting by Hyphen's parents. BTW, speakinby Killer - Hockey

Well, I usually wear my old Cornell letter sweater to the games, so I guess I have the "C" covered.by Killer - Hockey
Re: Harvard-Brown weekend - 19 years ago
I scored 6 of the Section O tickets through the Harvard Ticket Office - 4 through a Harvard buddy and 2 more when they went on sale to the public. We have 2 in Row 3 and 4 in Row 4. Any idea how many total tix went to Harvard? It's sounding like CU representation in the Harvard section will be pretty much like it is in Lynah East.by Killer - Hockey
Re: contacting athletics - 19 years ago
Yes, they did. And it appears that they sold pretty quickly once it was known. BTW, just after I bought mine, a friend of mine cancelled, so they became extras. I agreed to sell them to someone I'm meeting just beofre the game. Our agreed upon price is $29 for the pair. That's face value plus the $3 handling fee I was charged by Harvard. Seemed fair to me.by Killer - Hockey
Re: If the Sox can do it, how about Cornell? - 19 years ago
Nice try. But it's not the Yankee fans who have to get over the curse. It's the Sox. Maybe they'll break it this year. Sure looks good for them right now. But like I said, I'll accept them winning once every 86 years.by Killer - Hockey
Re: If the Sox can do it, how about Cornell? - 19 years ago
Well, you're not there yet, so there's still hope that the curse will win out. And if you do manage to pull it off, don't be surprised next year to hear "2090...2090...2090". Yep, that would be the next time you'd be expected to win it all. You know, that 86-year cycle. Dang, Halley's Comet would still come around more often than a Sox WS win.by Killer - Hockey
Re: Red jerseys at home? - 19 years ago
That's right, and I remember that when I first started attending games in 1971, the home color was red. But a couple years later they switched to the white home uniforms because everyone agreed that it was easier on road teams not to have to clean their whites while traveling in order to look decent.by Killer - Hockey

I'm going to be in RI as well, but down in Wakefield. Might join the in-laws for a game at URI. I don't think I can sell a trip to Brown, but who knows?by Killer - Hockey
Re: If the Sox can do it, how about Cornell? - 19 years ago
Unfortunately, I don't think Torre had much in the way of options. Yes, there was Vazquez or maybe El Duque, but neither of them had much in the tank either. Hey, given the number of decent innings he got out of Loaiza, maybe that was his move for a starter. Still, the Yankees forgot to show up last night, so regardless of who was pitching, they were in trouble. It's too bad that the one gaby Killer - Hockey
Re: If the Sox can do it, how about Cornell? - 19 years ago
What a depressing game. Pedro's appearance was the only highlight. What goes through Francoma's mind sometimes? He has the game virutally wrapped up, the crowd is dead, he only has to get through a couple innings, and he goes and makes the one move guaranteed to get the crowd back into it and potentially ignite the Yankees...and it almost worked. Wish we had some pitching, but I'm sure glad wby Killer - Hockey
Re: Cowbell Auditions - 19 years ago
Could he be thinking of someone from the opponents at an away game? Might there have been any weak attempts by the other side to duplicate it? I know that in my deep, dark past, I've heard a few bad renditions from the competition.by Killer - Hockey

Brown Hockey Tix - 19 years ago
Just called the Brown ticket office to find out the scoop on getting tickets. They have no info at the moment and said that they don't expect to be doing anything until at least late October. Does anyone know if it's tough to get tickets to see us play there?by Killer - Hockey
Re: Lynah East 2005 - Single Tickets on Sale 9/20 - 19 years ago
Got mine this morning as well. It took about 6 tries getting the "call back later" message, followed by being on hold for about 3 minutes when I got through. After exchanging pleasantries, the next words out of the mouth of the woman who took my call were, "How many tickets to the Cornell hockey game would you like?" I laughed and asked how she knew that I wasn't calling foby Killer - Hockey

Many thanks to those of you who supported us on the ride. It truly was a wonderful experience - over 4,000 riders; more than 2,000 volunteers; incredible weather; a route lined with people cheering us on, displaying signs of encouragement, sharing their stories, handing out water and snacks. And the best part? The fact that when all is said and done, this year's ride is expected to set a newby Killer - Hockey
