Re: WTF??? - 21 years ago
At least we don't have to worry about the team overlooking the first round. They should be fired up to prove their talent on big stage.by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: WTF??? - 21 years ago
I was thinking the same thing: We got totally screwed. I would say we likely have the toughest draw in the entire tourny, and yet, we're the #1 seed? What the hell? Isn't the whole idea for the best team to get the easiest draw? In all honesty, I'd swap with Harvard in an instant...I think they have an easier draw, and truly, probably just as tough a first round. Jordanby JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Game videos available - 21 years ago
I don't have the ability to make duplicates, but I will pay pretty much anything within reason for a copy of this weekends games on tape. Listening to the Harvard - Cornell final was heartstopping enough, now I actually have to see it.by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Cornell-Harvard(score) - 21 years ago
I will pay serious money to anyone who taped this game who will be willing to send me a copy of the tape.....btw, please let me know (jcs33@cornell.edu)by JordanCS - Hockey

CORNELL WINS THEIR 10TH ECAC TITLE 3-2, SAM PAOLINI!!!!!! HOLY CRAP...I'M SCREAMING AND IT'S 3:48 IN THE MORNING OVER HERE!!!!by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Cornell-Harvard(score) - 21 years ago
And we go to OT......again. Let's hope for a different outcome than the last OT ECAC final. And....the final score that Becky and Jayson predicted (3-2) will definitely come to pass...let's hope they're correct about the winner too! GO GO GO GO GO GO GO RED! YES YES YES YES YES YES!!! CU Scores with less than 30 seconds left in regulation!!!!by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Cornell-Harvard(score) - 21 years ago
This is a bad dream all over again. Harvard takes the lead on a goal by, yup, Kolarik (sp?). Same guy that scored the GWG last year.by JordanCS - Hockey

Re: Cornell-Harvard(score) - 21 years ago
On the other hand, the Cornell crowd sounds absolutely amazing. They've got the Pepsi center rocking! I wish I could be there so badly. And to think, I'll be back in the states in only 3 days....just a bit late!by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Cornell-Harvard(score) - 21 years ago
I feel the same way, Tom. I'm sitting in my house in Germany biting my nails and drinking beer to lessen the nerves. I'm on my 3rd half liter of "Das Schwarze" in the last 45 minutes. Hopefully I can celebrate in about 35 minutes or so. Jordanby JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Cornell-Harvard(score) - 21 years ago
Found the site....who's doing the play by play...he's a very very, um, non action oriented announcer. On that last no-goal, it took me 45 seconds to figure out who even shot the puck...practically no description of what's going on.by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Cornell-Harvard(score) - 21 years ago
Is there a netcast for tonight's game?by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Brown-Dartmouth - 21 years ago
Do you guys realize that Moy and Blaeser have correctly predicted every game of the ECAC final four so far, including the exact score? That's just weird. Well, I won't be disappointed if they hold for all four games: That means a 3-2 Cornell victory is coming up!!! LGR! Post Edited (03-22-03 18:27)by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Travesty - 21 years ago
Before the awards, in a post that Rich's above reply is in response to, I said the same thing...but after learning that Brown stopped 75 pucks in 2 consecutive shutouts, I have to say that he earned it. At least Dave got a mention this week. The good thing is that Dave is consistently good, and I'll take that over the occasional great week (not that Brown isn't also having an oustanding year).by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: TBRW Statistical Reflections on the 2003 RS - 21 years ago
I just want to make things a bit clearer, since I didn't say it explicitly earlier: I would rather have an ECAC Championship (tourny) than the Cleary Cup any day. I was at the final last year, and it was agonizing. However, my point was that I view the RS 'champ' as probably the league's best team. If they lose in the tourny, they weren't the best on that day, but are still probably the betteby JordanCS - Hockey
Re: TBRW Statistical Reflections on the 2003 RS - 21 years ago
As far as the RS ECAC 'title' and tourny title being compared to the President's Trophy and the Stanley Cup, I have to say it's a bit different. The Stanley Cup playoffs are 4 series of 7 games. It's nearly impossible to knock off a top seed simply because you got lucky. You need to get lucky 4 times. That doesn't happen very often, and so if a team wins after finishing the RS poorly, theyby JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Saturday results - 21 years ago
I almost hope we are NOT #1. We don't need that target on our backs come the opening of the ECAC playoffs. BTW...did the goalies even show up to play that game? 15 goals in a game does not happen very often....that's a goal every 4 minutes! Jordanby JordanCS - Hockey
Re: TBRW Statistical Reflections on the 2003 RS - 21 years ago
Very cool info there, Greg....it's hard to believe our offense was more inept than this year's Princeton squad just 2 years ago. (oh, and either your GA or the GAA for 2002 is way off...I think it's the GA, since I know our team D was incredible last year too)by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Cornell 3 at Yale 0 FINAL - 21 years ago
If 54 of 55 shots, a 0.50 GAA for the weekend, plus breaking Ken Dryden's all time school record and setting an ECAC RS record for shutouts in a season in a 31 save performance doesn't net Lenny USCHO Defensive PotW honors, then there's something wrong. Did you notice he wasn't even one of the finalists last week? He hasn't even gotten a mention in that category all year...yet he is dominatingby JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Cornell 2 at Yale 0 (3rd period) - 21 years ago
Lenny with #7 - And he's still got some games to go this season. Wow. I bet he didn't think he'd have 7 SOs this season. Amazing job, especially with the amount of shots he faced tonight....what was the final total?by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Cornell 2 at Yale 0 (3rd period) - 21 years ago
That's kind of what I meant about bad reffing...the 6-2 penalty edge to Yale seems a bit off, since we usually don't take that many penalties. Just wondering if we were getting a bit too physical, or if they were kind of bogus calls.by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Cornell 2 at Yale 0 (3rd period) - 21 years ago
What's the deal with all the penalties tonight? Is the reffing bad, or are we extraordinarily undisciplined tonight?by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Cornell 0 at Yale 0 (1st per.) - 21 years ago
Well, I can't get the broadcast, so keep me in the loop.by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: CU-Princeton - 21 years ago
I hope the Red can light a fire under themselves. Getting outshot by Princeton is pretty pathetic...even if it is only for one period. If we come out like that against any team in the NCAAs, we'll get smoked. Hopefully Schafer let them know what's up during the intermission...with Pegoraro scoring 2 minutes in, it sounds like that may have happened. Jordanby JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Stupid Selection Committee Tricks? - 21 years ago
Rich, being in a strong conference will make no difference, since only out of conference games are being counted in the "good wins" criterion.by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Lenny for Player of the Week? - 21 years ago
Dave deserves it. Also, looking through all the "Players of the Week" for all of D-1, we've only had one the whole season: Moulson 2 weeks ago. I find it kind of odd that no player from the nation's best defense, with by far the best goaltender, has won defensive player of the week.by JordanCS - Hockey

Murray is on the ice, in uniform, skating, for senior night...he skated out well, and looks to be ok.by JordanCS - Hockey
