I can only "listen" to the live stats, but only until 5:00 pm. Then, I have to go to an early dinner party.

Yep; sat out against Harvard too. Hopefully he can recover over the next couple weeks before the playoffs.
Also, Trevor Clay is NOT in goal for Princeton (the goalie who got the 2-1 W vs. Hahvahd). Their other kid is; forget his name now....

.5292 Western Michigan (2-0)
.5198 Yale (2-0)
.5188 Dartmouth (1-1)
.4992 Brown (1-0-1)

I hope the Red can light a fire under themselves. Getting outshot by Princeton is pretty pathetic...even if it is only for one period. If we come out like that against any team in the NCAAs, we'll get smoked. Hopefully Schafer let them know what's up during the intermission...with Pegoraro scoring 2 minutes in, it sounds like that may have happened.

OK. Back from the game. First game in a few years, and it felt damn good to see the Red in action. I felt like a kid again, and loved everything about the atmosphere. All of the chants, all of the cheers, all of the songs. And of course the cowbell. (I had a fever, and . . . nevermind.)
From singing My Old Cornell before the arena filled up (never would have guessed that I'd remember the lyrics - I had to look up the name of the song (thanks JH '98)) to the countdown at the end of the game it was a blast. Even Macho Man.
And for all those who think that the crowd has fallen on hard and desperate times with a current student body that relies too much on "Sucks", I say nuts to you. Maybe it is just the Travelling Faithful, but the band and the students were great. The player specific songs are new to me, and a great addition. (S-V-O-B-O-D-A is dadaist and spectacular - glad I was at a game where I could hear it.) Kudos to the guy in the back row of the band for "The Ghost of Hobey Baker called . . ." and to the guy in the back of the neighboring section who hauntingly intoned "And I want you out of my rink!" after we all told the goalie what ol' Hobey thought of him.
And finally, for the Hitchhiker's Guide to the ECAC, there is a great little ice cream Parlor at 183 Nassau Street. You can skip the Thai restaurant a little further up Nassau ("up" meaning away from the rink), but the liquor store across the street had one of my favorites (2001 Toasted Head Chardonnay) for a good price (and chilled), and they seemed to have a good selection.
I'm looking forward to tomorrow's Yale game, and now I wish I had a Live at Lynah CD to play as I watch. Thanks to all of you in the pep band. Hope we see each other again in an Eastern regional.

back home and barely alive...
and i can't understand why the 4 away games i've seen this year (with the exception of first period at harvard(sucks!)), we play like crap!
dartmouth, brown, harvard, and princeton.
(sorry, a moment to vent)
dartmouth - first game i see of the year and the team i had heard about wasn't there. boucher (bastard) says bend over, and the guys say okay.
brown - memory's a little hazy right now but they definitely were not playing like i know how the could play
harvard - the first period was nice, and then i think they forgot who they were playing and lost focus. if they had kept it up, the score coould've been run up to 6 or 7 goals before the game was thru...instead...
princeton - one of the things that sometimes bother me about our team is that sometimes, they only seem to put in as much effort as they feel they need to get a win... and if it means playing at a lower level... someone (don't remember who) put it best tonight that we won and we sucked but it was only cuz they sucked more.
we play like this tomorrow and we will get our asses kicked all the way back to ithaca.
cleary cup...where is that thing anyways? anyone wanna trade it for a whitelaw...?
otherwise, it was nice to hear the cheers done the 'proper way'
oh how i miss 'DIE!' - short, sweet, and to the point.
and was definitely a fan of the "ghost of hobey called" series.
sleepy time...been up too long...

oh yes, that's right
union was fine, though it did get boring quickly in the first period
but you must admit, rpi was a little scary too.
sorry everybody, i was just very very upset last night after the long drive and seeing that...game...
USCHO front page..."First, Cornell didn't back into the Cleary Cup, but the Big Red might have felt like it after a difficult 2-1 win over bottom-feeding Princeton."
yup. Anyone remember the SLU(T) game last year? their archives said it was a tie and that's how we got the damn thing last year.

Sorry for the late post - got back in very late Saturday night/Sunday morning from the roadtrip. Did want to note that I spotted the Cleary Cup being taken to the team bus after the Yale game. Was being carried like any other piece of equipment. I don't have to state the obvious that the team will take the trophy but it's not what they're after.
Disappointing that Providence wins the tiebreaker with BU and hosts BU. Would have been a great series to go watch next weekend with us off. Guess I could alternatively route for Merrimack at BC and hope Merrimack goes all the way to displace a team. Alright its early I must still be dreaming.
