Re: "Greatest Hockey Tournament"? - 22 years ago
I agree with having pros in the Olympics. The original olympics were about the greatest athletes coming to compete. If you rule out the best athletes in the sport (ie, the pros), then you certainly don't get the best athletes competing. If I win a gold medal, I want to know it's because I beat the best of the best...not the best of a subset of the sport playing population.by JordanCS - Hockey

Using Opera, you can turn off pop-ups. Also, a good IE and Netscape program is Pop Up Stopper (do a search). It'll kill all pop ups in IE and Netscape. If you want to open a javascript popup with a link, you just CTRL-click it and it'll work. It works very well.by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Cornell VS Clarkson , Saturday Feb 23rd - 22 years ago
I agree that Kotyra was awful. I thought that there were plenty of penalties that should have been called on both sides. It started with that early whistle on the CU goal that wasn't, then the horrible call on McRae that led to the third Clarkson goal, then the horrible call on McMeekin...2 minutes for receiving. After that, it seemed to me that Clarkson was taking cheap shots for a while, andby JordanCS - Hockey
Re: THANK YOU SENIORS! - 22 years ago
Speaking of Underhill, I don't know how many of you saw this, but he came over to the penalty box last night to hug a girl (sorry, don't know her name), and gave her a kiss and gave her his goalie stick! I took some pics (unfortunately, they came out a little blurry)...by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Game DQ for Palahicky - 22 years ago
Also, Flaherty will be out all of next weekend. He had a previous game DQ, so he'll be suspended for 2 games. It'll hurt them to lose their two top scorers.by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Cornell VS Clarkson , Saturday Feb 23rd - 22 years ago
The puck was not shot in off the faceoff. Clarkson won the faceoff, and we just let them have it so they could run the clock out...no one came after the puck. He stood there for a second with the puck, then shot it right into Murray, who I thought was about to kill someone. The misconduct was definitely deserved. Horrible class.by JordanCS - Hockey

There was a 4 page insert on the upcoming weekend in the sun today. In color, no less!by JordanCS - Hockey

Awww...go alone! BTW, the ticket is still up for grabs for anyone who needs one.by JordanCS - Hockey
Anyone need a ticket for friday's game? - 22 years ago
Unfortunately, it turns out I will not be able to attend Friday's game. I'm bummed, but I can't make it. I'll be there on Saturday. So, I have a ticket up for grabs. Anyone need one?by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: ECAC FANS - 22 years ago
Actually John, if you leave your keys in your car, and it's RUNNING, and someone steals your car and kills someone with it, you ARE liable for that persons death. Sort of the big legal version of the "attractive nuisance" clause.by JordanCS - Hockey

Thanks..I knew I was missing something obvious.by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: PWR Today, 2-17-02 - 22 years ago
Excuse me if I'm being thick, since I don't really understand entirely how PWR is used in the tourny selection ( and I know it's not EXACTLY the criteria they use)...but, if we have a PWR of 12 at worst, and there are 12 spots in the tourny....wouldn't we get a slot? The 5 autobids are excluded, leaving 7 at large bids. In what situations would teams ranked #13 and below be able to leapfrog usby JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Perspective - 22 years ago
Murray is definitely not the best skater, but I disagree about Bâby. While obviously not the most agile guy on the ice, I think he skates extremely well given his size.by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: YUCK...WE LOST - 22 years ago
DAMNIT!!! Why the hell can't we beat these guys? It's not like Nick Boucher is a superhuman goalie. He had over 3 GAA coming into the game, yet he stands on his head against us. We outplay them almost the whole game, and somehow, we lose. Gotta hope we don't meet them in the playoffs. On the other hand, I'm almost glad the Red lost one before the playoffs began. If we had swept the remainiby JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Best time and place to buy ECAC tourny tix - 22 years ago
I'll definitely be there for the QF series at Lynah. I'll also be going to LP even if our beloved Red do not pull out a QF win. So, overall, would you reccommend waiting to buy, or buying through the LP office now?by JordanCS - Hockey
Best time and place to buy ECAC tourny tix - 22 years ago
I'm definitely going to Lake Placid this year, but I have not yet bought my tickets. I obviously want to be seated with the rest of the Cornell fans, but I also don't want to risk not getting a pair of tickets. What's the best way to ensure I get tickets with the rest of the CU fans? Should I go through the CU box office, or call the Lake Placid guys?by JordanCS - Hockey
LeNeveu #1 in the nation - 22 years ago
With tonights games, as of 11:39PM on 9 Feb, LeNeveu is now #1 in the country in GAA with 1.45, with a slim .01 lead over Cam McCormick. Keep it up, David!!! Underhill sits 5th at 1.77. I love having two absoultely stellar goalies! LeNeveu is 3rd in save %, and Underhill is 9th. LGR!by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: TSN - 22 years ago
Great article. Having never seen 'Love Story', is there really a concentration on the Cornell / Hahvahd rivalry? Is Lynah in the film? Anyway, I'm printing the article to save.by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: goalies - 22 years ago
Maybe they'll continue playing every other night...including the playoffs. They obviously perform well on the current schedule, and having a fresh goalie for every playoff game wouldn't hurt. I wouldn't be at all surprised if this happens. It's not a lack of confidence in either goalie, it's an overwhelming amount of confidence in both goalies.by JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Krzysztof Wieckowski - 22 years ago
Krzysztof has had an amazing year for sure, but I think that Palahicky will be there as well for most improved. I've seen a marked improvement in his game. He scored 5 points in 27 games last year, and has 9 so far this year in only 19 games. He's also provided a nice physical presence on the checking line. Just food for thought. Re: Cornell v. Brown - 22 years ago
Great game. The Cornell PK was brilliant tonight; they really shut down Brown. LeNevue was spectacular. He made one kick save on a pass to his right that was worthy of NHL save of the week honors. He had about two more that were really amazing saves in their own right, but nothing compared to that one save. I bet that shot would have scored on over half the pro goalies around. Anyway, tby JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Harvard v. Cornell - 22 years ago
This was the best the crowd has been in any of the 6 home Harvard games I've been at. Of course the fish during the game sucked. Palahicky's fake was hilarious...but it looked to me like he was pretending it was stuck in his right glove, while he was holding it behind his back with his left. The crowd was so loud tonight, that I had a VERY hard time hearing the band play Davy after a goal, soby JordanCS - Hockey
Re: Travis Bell Named POTW - 22 years ago
Congrats to Bell. He's always been one of my favorite players, since he shows so much hustle on the ice, and always seems to make great plays because of it. It's nice to see him get recognition.by JordanCS - Hockey
