Re: Quinnipiac @ Cornell, Game 2 Postgame - 17 years ago
Oatsah67I thought Mugford played a superb game tonight. And yes, even when he led the charge that started the huge fight Mugford sprinted in and pulled a swim move through 3 Q guys... as Davenport stood and watched quietly from the crease. You really want our starting goaltender, arguably the most important position in all of team sports, to risk a game DQ by getting into a fight?by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey
Re: OT: Penguins Moving - 17 years ago
KeithKWhy would anyone voluntarily move a pro-sports franchise to Kansas City? Ever looked at the Royals over the last 20 years? The Chiefs do pretty well both attendance and performance wise. Granted, selling out eight home games a year might be easier than getting a good crowd for 41 games a year.by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey
Re: And I thought we were desperate for Nash... - 17 years ago
johnny923Didn't Reggie Bush just get USC in trouble (again) by contacting the top football recruit in the country? Telling Nash to contact Zajac...not smart. Also, it may just be me, but I don't think the best way to get a kid to like your school is to bash other schools (especially the one that his brother goes to). And...this may just be me, but if you are trying to say "you are&qby Pete Godenschwager - Hockey
Re: game-worn question - 17 years ago
I think in 04-05 the new red jerseys didn't come in until later in the season, and the team wore the previous year's red jerseys for a while. So, in the Fall of 04 Topher could have been wearing Krahn's jersey from the previous year.by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey
Re: Cornell injuries - 17 years ago
billhowardSection A BansheeI know there's a mandatory sit-out time for concussions in the NHL... something like two weeks with no symptoms before they let you play again. I can't imagine what the rule is for college. Is it a concussion or are we assuming since he got knocked down hard and looked woozy that it's a concussion? What by the way, medically, is a concussion? It's not a binary thingby Pete Godenschwager - Hockey

RatushnyFanjtwcornell91Somewhat to my surprise, this seemingly one-sided description of events looks more or less accurate based on the video. The only thing it doesn't mention is that Lindros had his back turned to Murray when Murray's stick clipped him in the back of the head, so he probably assumed Murray was deliberately whacking him in retaliation for the hit. But how ridiculous is fightinby Pete Godenschwager - Hockey
Re: CU Tradition - 17 years ago
mha On the other hand, I wonder if, once we set that precedent, we might not end up overdoing it. Like Duke basketball, who already retired J.J. Redick's number. (They've retired a total of 13 numbers).by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey
Re: Nieuwendyk to be honored Saturday at Lynah - 17 years ago
dag14Remember the length of the college hockey season v. the NHL season....If you are playing less than 30 games a year, even a prolific college goal-scorer isn't likely to have 100 points. But you would think his per game scoring would be through the roof in college given what it was his first two years in the NHL. Heck, he had five goals in only nine games for the Flames immediately after hiby Pete Godenschwager - Hockey
Re: Cornell 0 - Dartmouth 2 (3rd period) 11/11/06 - 17 years ago
jtwcornell91Rita(I only saw 1 door open in the penalty box area). Actually our penalty box is not next to the scorer's table like the other one; it's next to our bench in front of C. There's a red telephone so the penalty box official can call Arthur. On the topic of the scorer's table, has anybody heard anything about the PA system? As in, are they trying to fix it? It sounds awful! Plus tby Pete Godenschwager - Hockey

Re: # all gone (o.t.) - 17 years ago
TrotskyTeams should retire numbers for a set period of time after the player's retirement -- say, 100 years -- then put them back into service. How many single digit numbers are left for the Yankees? 2 (Jeter) and 6 (Torre) are left. I assume 2 will be retired when Jeter is all done though.by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey
Re: Sioux sue? - 17 years ago
KeithKjtwcornell91In a nutshell, they find the ruling unreasonable, but understand that going to court over an athletic logo is silly. It's equally silly for the NCAA to prevent a team from participating in or hosting tournaments because of a logo. So in your opinion the right thing to do is to just give in to the NCAA's institutional silliness? This isn't the civil rights movement of the 1960s.by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey
Re: Sioux sue? - 17 years ago
Just got this email. Looks like W&M won't take the same course of action as UND. So, NCAA, you've won. Nobody will be forced to face the horror of seeing feathers in the W&M athletics logo. Re: McKee Could Dress Tonight - 18 years ago
calgARI '07I remember Sejna played for the Blues when he signed in 03 but was ineligible in the playoffs if I remember correctly. Carle played for San Jose tonight though and his situation is pretty much identical so I have no clue. Senja and McKee both signed as free agents, whereas Carle was drafted by San Jose. Maybe that's why?by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey
Re: Goalie size? - 18 years ago
DeltaOne81las224 Like I said, dumb question, but is it possible? The net is 6 feet wide and 4 feet tall. If you can find someone who's dimensions are anywhere close to that who can get on skates, nevermind get out of bed, good for you. There were a few games in the NCAAs with 6"+ goalies versus guys who were 5'7"/5'8. (keep in mind, this is only 6-8 inches or so of difference out oby Pete Godenschwager - Hockey
