Re: NCAA bracketing affirmative action style -- loosen the rules? - 18 years ago
I appreciate your sentiment. But as long as the definition of national champion is "won 4 games in a row against opponents determined by the NCAA seeds" you could say the regular season is already devalued. We'd have to go back to the bad old days of 1-team-represents-a-conference to change that. I see your point, which is why I was clear to say NCAA champion and not say best team.by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey

heykbChris '03...It's like a play-in game for everyone. Yuck. You wouldn't want to see Colgate vs UNO? or Clarkson vs Michigan St? OK, there would be a few stinkers, but I see a lot of teams that are good enough to make the higher seed grumble about what a tough game they're playing in the first round. I think it would be a hoot. Even if we wind up playing a UNH or LSSU in the first round.by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey

I tried a couple other stations that were on the list provided by Westwood One, and none of them have the game.by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey

TrotskyPete Godenschwagerhttp://www.1460thefan.com is on the Westwood One list of stations that are supposed to carry the game, I'm listening to it right now. The game isn't listed on the website's schedule, though. We'll see if they switch over. They haven't switched over, and I now recall whey I hated Colin Cowherd so much when he did his mind-dumbingly boring schtick as a local yokel in Portby Pete Godenschwager - Hockey

Anybody know if the USA/Finland game is being broadcast on the web? I saw that Westwood One has the game on the radio, but I didn't see any links to any radio webcasts.by Pete Godenschwager - Other Sports
Re: PWR: 'Splain this to us again? - 18 years ago
The only thing I noticed was that since you haven't explicitly stated the AH/CHA bids, their TUC status isn't factored into the PWR. That's not necessarily wrong, though, since it would only be a guess as to what those teams would be anyway.by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey

Jason LBCrespiThe traveling Faithful getting some recognition as Moy moves the 4-seed to the Albany regional to boost attendance. yeah except when they add bonuses, WE'RE NOT EVEN IN THE TOURNEY Well, we're in with the .003/.002/.001 bonus. If the bonus gets bumped up to .004/.0025/.001, then we're out.by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros -- Jan 2006 - 18 years ago
BrianWhat happened to Iggulden last night, 19 minutes in penalties! What is a face shield penalty? I think the face shield penalty refers to fighting while wearing a face shield. If you saw Murray's fight the other night, he quickly took off his helmet before his scrap to avoid this. Edit: Apparently, this penalty is only applied if the person wearing the shield is deemed the instigator.by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey

Yep they dropped one to RIT, but I'll look past that... Especially since they outshot RIT by something like 60-15 in that oneby Pete Godenschwager - Hockey

Your best bet, if you're in town, is to go down to Teagle and talk to Bill in person. I didn't have much luck with e-mail either last year.by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey

Re: sun article on hockey fans - 18 years ago
I'm amazed that NO ONE has left a calling card on the Sun site. However, I don't think we should get too worked up over this. I suspect he did write this on the last publication day of the term intentionally, as a pompous, peurile little exercise. He obviously expects to get a rise out of us. The best reaction is not to give it to him. It's possible that they just haven't posted the comments yby Pete Godenschwager - Hockey

Re: Cornell 1 @ Dartmouth 6 (post-game thread) - 18 years ago
We lost away November Dartmouth games in 02-03 and 04-05, and I think we ended up pretty good. Both those games were hard fought one goal games though (the 5-2 loss in 02-03 had 2 ENG). You could come out of those games with the feeling that even when the team was "off" they were still in it until the end. Still, it is just one game in November.by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey
