Re: The current ELynah poll - 19 years ago
I don't think it's woofing at all. The "official" definition of woofing is as follows: Woofing is any outlandish, outrageous, inflammatory, ridiculous, unsupported, sophmoric, or otherwise brain-dead commentary or predictions regarding a specific team, player, or athletic event. from: It's not a conservative pick, but it's at least thought out and supported by arguements in tby Pete Godenschwager - Hockey

Also there was an interview with McKee this past weekend on CSTV. You can see the video here:by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey
Re: Crowd at lynah this weekend - 19 years ago
Did the games start at 7:00 or 8:00 then? I wouldn't be surprised if the stands were more full at gametime if the starting time was later. I still don't see why it's hard to get to a 7:00 game on time even if you do want to drink beforehand.by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey
Re: OT: Wouldn't it be fun - 19 years ago
Is the Ivy League the only basketball conference without a tournament? I remember the Big 10 didn't have one for a while, but that was a while ago (early 90's?).by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey
Re: Polls 3/7/05 - 19 years ago
your right minnasota state is real good. Denver lost to them and CC tied. Not too impressive Well, Cornell lost to Michigan St., and Michigan St. isn't exactly tearing it up this year. You can't take the results of one or two games to define a team's season. 14 games unbeaten is impressive. Is it better than going 10-4 against better teams? That's why there's a tournament at the end of tby Pete Godenschwager - Hockey

According to the CSTV website, semi-final 2 will be live, semi-final 1 will be tape delayed the next morning.by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey
Re: How To Be a Good Fan - 19 years ago
Schafer ranted and raved at him for no reason that anyone could tell. Sounds like you're just assuming that Schafer was at fault. I don't know the situation, so I'm not saying he is or isn't. But just because you couldn't tell what it was about, it must've been for no reason? Must be those piss-yellow tinted glasses.by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey
Re: How To Be a Good Fan - 19 years ago
Nor were the Steelers the NFL champions this past year. The NHL gives out an award for the best record. Do you see any Senators fans holding any parades for the ones that they won? Just because you won something doesn't make you "the champion".by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey

where's the "shoot spitballs at the opposing fans"?by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey
Re: Confusion about ECACHL championship tickets - 19 years ago
I don't quite understanding going to the effort to post a thread asking what the tickets are for when you could just look at them. While it's probably obvious to most of us, the tickets don't make it all that easy on those who haven't been through the playoffs before. The tickets don't have dates on them, just "ECAC Championships" on them. What's probably confusing is that on the scby Pete Godenschwager - Hockey

I think they'll be a little bit busy in March with squeekball I think CBS has exclusive rights to all the games, at least they have in years past.by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey

I think we definately outnumbered the BC fans in Providence two years back.by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey
Re: uniform numbers - 19 years ago
I have no idea if Cornell allows numbers over 31 or not, but I know some people frown upon having "higher" numbers. It's seen as promoting yourself instead of the team. I wouldn't be suprised then if Cornell discouraged it.by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey
Re: Polls 2/21 - 19 years ago
Looking at the USA Today poll, I had no idea Colorado had a hockey team. Go Buffaloes! On that note, didn't USA Today used to spell out the whole name of the university/college? They still do with Boston College and Dartmouth College, but the others are just "Minnesota" and "Ohio State". Edit: On the link above, to the actual USA Today site, the full name is notby Pete Godenschwager - Hockey
Re: Hobey Voting - 19 years ago
There has been 1536 visits today on elynah, if they had all voted Are those all independent people though? You can visit the site 100 times, and only vote once.by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey
Re: [OT[ ECAC trivia - 19 years ago
Although Jayson Moy and Co. did correctly predict both the outcomes and scores of all four games at the ECACs two years ago. That was nuts.by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey
Re: NHL + PA Still Talking - 19 years ago
and it decreases cheap shots because it there's accountability for what you do on the ice. Is there no accountability in the playoffs then? Players rarely fight in the playoffs, yet somehow the game manages to go on.by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey
Re: West Coast Fans and Broadcasts - 19 years ago
semifinal #1, which will involve the top remaining seed in the ECACHL tournament: Is that true? I thought the #1 seed played in the evening game, and the only reason Cornell played the early game two years ago was because Schafer requested it.by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey
Re: game worn jerseys avail. for sale - 19 years ago
When would you suggest I first contact the issue room? November? This year the white jerseys weren't ready until early December, that's when I got mine. Novermber sounds like a good time to start calling, though.by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey

Not only do they let PSP sell them, Lehman was even given a Big Red Wings jersey at his inauguration.by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey

Bettman also said the current offer is now off the table (obviously off the table since the season is cancelled but also off the table as a start for future negotiations). He also said he doesn't see a deal without linked revenue.by Pete Godenschwager - Hockey
