Re: CORNELL HOCKEY ALUMNI LAUNCH CLOTHING LINE - 18 years ago
ftyuvkroseI can't wait until they discover HTML, so I can see what they're trying to sell me. On the one hand, you have a point. On the other, if you're so outdated or off-the-beaten-path that you don't have Flash installed, you're probably not in their target audience. Ha, yeah, what he said. I was initially going to go with a comment about how Kyle doesn't put gel in his hair...by atb9 - Hockey

I'm thinking Windows users are more of their target audience...by atb9 - Hockey
Re: Mel Kiper on Kevin Boothe - 18 years ago
Mel Kiper has repeatedly said today that Kevin Boothe was a steal for Oakland in the sixth round.by atb9 - Other Sports

The laser by Seibold over the left shoulder of the goalie from 8 yards out to make it 3-2 at the end of the 1st was beautiful.by atb9 - Other Sports
Re: Homer Call of the Week- Holy Cross Announcers - 18 years ago
DeltaOne81Anywhere we can hear it? Just the call (mp3 - approx. 30 seconds) The segment (mp3 - approx. 7 min) Edit: I'll leave the files up until April 7.by atb9 - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: Homer Call of the Week- Holy Cross Announcers - 18 years ago
Working on it... Will have the 30 second call and the 7 minute segment with Keith Olbermann up shortly.by atb9 - John Spencer Is Dead
Homer Call of the Week- Holy Cross Announcers - 18 years ago
The Homer Call of the Week on The Dan Patrick Show is going to be won by the Holy Cross announcers doing the call of the game winner against Minnesota. The call is passionate and hilarious and it really puts the Minnesota announcers to shame. I'm guessing Dan will be playing the call over and over for the next 45 minutes.by atb9 - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: Any word on McKee's nagging injury? - 18 years ago
RitaWell, apparently McKee's "nagging injury" was not to the hand he uses to sign his name. . Ha! Wasn't his hand bandaged up in Albany?by atb9 - Hockey
Re: [MLax] new poll, 3/27 [poll pasted in] - 18 years ago
I know UAlbany doesn't fit the profile of our opponents (I doubt we recruit the same players) but their sports programs are rapidly improving.by atb9 - Other Sports
Re: USA Hockey National Championships - 18 years ago
Very cool--congrats to your cousin! I don't know how the Youth hockey system works outside of the feeder leagues for Cornell. Would you mind filling me in on Tier II? A quick google search didn't do the job. It looks like Tier I is taking place in Rochester. Does Tier I designate "East"?by atb9 - Other Sports
Re: Poll (yay) 3/27 - 18 years ago
Jeff Hopkins '82God. Talk about irrelevant. (The poll. Not the post) I doubt it's irrelevant to recruits... It's nice to be ranked ahead of Minnesota.by atb9 - Hockey
Re: Interesting thoughts from Adam Wodon (USCHO Chat) - 18 years ago
RedARAgreed. I see fans screaming "SHOOT" when there is no shooting lane. A blocked shot from the point can easily turn into an odd man rush. It would be much more productive if those fools that yelled "shoot" yelled "move!" instead. Often times it seemed like Topher and Moulson got stuck in a two on two mini-game on the PP while the other guys, three on two, wereby atb9 - Hockey
Re: ECACHL Officials - 18 years ago
I thought that Bellemore, Hagwell and their families were sitting at the table and standing in the tunnel behind the away goal. I was sitting at the bottom of 128, in the second row right next to the table. Bellemore's contact info is still on the ECAC(HL) website: (BTW, I love how Hagwell's email address is "shagwell" What is clear though is that people really hate Cornell.by atb9 - Hockey
Re: Dan Fridgen has resigned from RPI - 18 years ago
This past weekend most of us were talking about Fridgen resigning; I believe he was the only ECAC coach not at the awards banquet. Good luck RPI! The league keeps getting better and it is vital for the non-Ivy league teams to be strong since they represent the majority of our leagues out of conference games.by atb9 - Hockey
Re: preparing for CC - 18 years ago
billhowardIs there a premium content area of cornellbigred.com where you could, say, get a Webcast of what Schafer really was saying to the team? It's probably more inspirational then what he told the Journal. I can't wait for eLynah Extra...by atb9 - Hockey
Re: preparing for CC - 18 years ago
nyc94I wonder if TBone (the RPI fan) is the same person that posted here as "Ted Donato". Based on the IP address, I'm guessing that "Ted Donato" is the Union fan that got a ton of unfair abuse from young, drunk Cornell fans (PM me if you want to know who it was... ) in Pagliacci's after we beat Colgate. The guy seemed like one of those quiet types that was smart enough toby atb9 - Hockey
Re: Pepsi Arena - barely occupied for ECACs? - 18 years ago
The hockey capacity is slightly under 15,000. 6,489 showed up for the Championship in 2004 between Clarkson and Harvard. It is clear that Harvard does not help attendance. The Albany River Rats have averaged slightly under 4000 fans (3984 in 2005, 3971 in 2006) and they are changing affiliates for next year.by atb9 - Hockey
Re: Stupid PWR tricks - 18 years ago
RedARAccording to Moy, who is in Albany, the reason that USCHO placed Cornell in Worcester is as follows (if I understood him correctly): There is a 3-way tie between Miami, Cornell, and UND. Cornell beats Miami, Miami beats UND, and UND beats Cornell. But, because UND has to stay in Grand Forks, UND was taken out of the mix, so Cornell beats Miami. Therefore, Cornell stays in the east. jtw,by atb9 - Hockey

Re: Albany Sign Ideas - 18 years ago
BTW, on the back of my sign was the "Go Danes" cut out from the Times Union sports page. If Albany had beaten UCOnn in Squeekball? What an upset that would have been! I can see it now...over turned cars set on fire on S. Pearl Street...too bad.by atb9 - Hockey
Re: Cornell - Colgate Post Game Thread - 18 years ago
Jeff Hopkins '82Here's an interesting one. Y'know how they do a profile on one of the seniors for each school in the program every year? Cornell's player this year? Louis Chabot. Good for him. Nice factoid. I'm really happy for him, he has played really well this year when he has been needed and he has looked really focused the times I have seen him practice. I can't say it was always lby atb9 - Hockey
Re: Pre-game...post game??? - 18 years ago
krk6Im driving up to Albany this afternoon (can't believe I missed last night)... where are we pregaming??? Also, without jinxing it - where are the post-game festivities??? -Jeremy If it happens, it sounds like post-game will be at SkyLine, right across the street from Jillian's because they let people in over-under. However, they charge a $5 cover so we'll see how popular that is. Last nby atb9 - Hockey
Re: Albany Sign Ideas - 18 years ago
Jason Lfrom uscho.com: A Big Red fan near the glass held an "Abajo Colgate" sign, an homage to the "Abajo Fidel" signs popping up around the World Baseball Classic I'm pretty sure they plagiarized that from College Hockey News. From CHN: A sign from a Cornell fan reading "Abajo Colgate," in reference to the controversial "Abajo Fidel" sign dby atb9 - Hockey

128-108 were Cornell (although some would say 126 and 127 were Cornell too). Dartmouth had the second most fans. I couldn't find a single SLU(T) fan...by atb9 - Hockey
