Albany Sign Ideas

The sign idea thread usually goes OT quickly but here were some ideas tossed out:

"Abajo Colgate"

"Welcome To The Ivy League Championships" (I think one could really slap Colgate with their Ivy League inferiority complex)

"Welcome To Lynah-Middle-East" (Mike?)

"Colgate: Not Our Rivals" or "Not Our Harvard" or "Colgate: Hotel Janitors" or "Where's Our Piccolo?"

Any other ideas that you would like to share?

I know people mentioned responses they had to what the Colgate students were yelling; those may make good signs if the Colgate fans bring theirs.

I'm planning on bringing the sign I made for Harvard@Lynah: "At Harvard, even this fish could get a 4.0" (accompanied by a picture of a fish)

I have airport layover time to make more signs, so any ideas are welcome.

Wherever Cuba has played in the World Baseball Classic, there have been signs saying "Abajo Fidel" ("Down with Fidel".

Yep, but if you saw it on tv during pre-game, Little Killer was probably holding it. And I give all credit for the creativity to my Duke friend, who came up with it from my instructions to brainstorm: something involving fish and/or grade inflation. She thanks you, I'm sure

Good think he's not a goalie ("Pull your Johnson!". When he gets penalized, we can yell "Johnson ... in the box!"

My old roomie watched the game on TV and told me that he saw both you and Somers (aka Little Killer) with the sign. All I got was a shoulder in the picture.

I like the above but for what it is worth, i had decent buy in from the crowd with

Lovejoy! Offers! Devine! Swallow!

This sadly leaves out johnson, which i feel is something of a crime, but the crowd seemed to have a harder time when we listed 30% of the Dartmouth team.

The problem we had at the game at Lynah last month is that Swallow seems to not get much ice time, and the cheers don't work out so well without him.

I still have the Lynah Middle East sheet from last year. If the seating is arranged so that the Stters are closer to the ice than the Standers, the first standing row could hold the sheet. Well, hold it or somehow attach it to their clothing. That should get around the main problem the users had with it last year, right Mike? I remember the main problem was the fact it was going to be free-standing and near the signs companies paid for.

BTW, on the back of my sign was the "Go Danes" cut out from the Times Union sports page. If Albany had beaten UCOnn in Squeekball? What an upset that would have been! I can see it now...over turned cars set on fire on S. Pearl Street...too bad.
