Re: 2007-08 fan wishlist - 17 years ago
As far as intermission entertainment goes, I'd settle for just having someone in the helmet-with-the-blast-shield-down trying to get to the Subway banner on the ice again. And I can't believe that Cornell can't find anyone in the Ithaca community who is a decent skater and is willing to wear the suit. I miss the striptease by the bears, too. martyI enjoyed seeing the UND team celebrate! I guess I am sick of seeing the Goofers win this season. Every damn week on Fox. It was nice to see them lose when it counts. It would've been sweeter yesterday.by Will - Hockey

BigRedChsHdWell, it was embarrassing enough to get them calling for our heads...check out this USCHO post--"Only One ECACHL Team From Now On, Please..." The guy couldn't even properly insult our conference. "EC-Easy"? It's "EZAC", moron. (Or possibly "EZACH" now.) No worries. Nobody takes him seriously.by Will - Hockey

BeeeejRoy 82I wouldn't put too much blame on him. After prolonged periods of time, syphilis can begin to affect the brain. Okay, guys, come on - seriously - that's really enough innuendo already. There's a limit to these things, and you're just taking it too far. I mean, who'd believe he has a brain? I'm sure all the babies he ate had brains.by Will - Hockey

Cactus12Anyone else think it is a reasonable idea not to respond to these posts and let them fade into non-bumped eLynah obscurity? (yes, i know this response is therefore hypocritical) Probably a good idea, but since this is an internet message board, it will never happen.by Will - Hockey

Ice Meets MetalHow’s that for use of capital letters, before you edit it. You forum Nazi. Funny. That’s what I like about a free society (free speech, or it is freedom of the press, or is it an uncensored Internet) anyway, being able to give one’s views even tough it is contrary to the masses. ftyuvRichHCongrats to the Knights and the Saints. Let's Go North Country!! I know we're supposed to fall back on conference loyalty and all that, but why'd it have to be the North Country? I think I'd even rather P-ton make it, and their license plate has a turd on it. *grumble* It was bound to happen sooner or later, as Clarkson and St. Lawrence have both been historically strong programs wby Will - Hockey
Re: Bracketology, '07 edition - 17 years ago
Dpperk29the reason SLU gets to stay east is because they are the 11 seed and would play the 6 seed, SCSU. However, in the 6-12 game... BC would play maine... intraconference matchup which the committee hates. So they simply flip slu and maine to avoid this. take it as the committee has a bias against cornell if you want to, but it is the same procedure that the committee has used for severalby Will - Hockey
Re: Bracketology, '07 edition - 17 years ago
RitaAdam mentions that in 2003, they went straight to the pairwise (except to avoid 1st round matchup issues). Isn't 2003 the year we got Mankato State (a #14 seed?) in Providence when our seeding indicated we should have gotten an "easier" (15/16 seed) opponent? It got switched around so that the other 1-seeds wouldn't have to face first-round intra-conference matchups.by Will - Hockey
Re: You Are The Committee - 17 years ago
ursusminorI thought that games against RIT do count which is waht JTW sttes in his script. If I uncheck that button, SLU is 18th. Counting RIT, whom SLU beat, is a big effect. As I understand it, RIT is a Team Under Consideration who was never actually under consideration. In other words, games against them count, but RIT doesn't get the benefit of being eligible for the NCAA Tournament.by Will - Hockey

The only thing that really bothers me is PUTTING THE TITLE OF THE POST ALL IN CAPS LIKE THIS, as if one's specific intention is to grab attention. BCrespiBMac * Kevan Melrose - Matt Nickerson Award, Least Respected Opponent. "Dexshow." I just plain don't like him. Will Carter-Moore: Mark Dekanich I find it interesting that this guy managed to be nominated for both the most respected and hated opponent award. That said, I'd probably lean more towards the Nickerson end, though he is an impressive goaltender. To be fair, I'mby Will - Hockey

To make things more interesting, the Chargers played all three games of the tournament coming from behind to win in their one and only head coach's final season: Beyond ECACHL teams, I'm definitely rooting for Alabama-Huntsville in the tournament.by Will - Hockey
Re: Quinnipiac @ Cornell, Game 2 Postgame - 17 years ago
Pete GodenschwagerOatsah67I thought Mugford played a superb game tonight. And yes, even when he led the charge that started the huge fight Mugford sprinted in and pulled a swim move through 3 Q guys... as Davenport stood and watched quietly from the crease. You really want our starting goaltender, arguably the most important position in all of team sports, to risk a game DQ by getting intoby Will - Hockey
Re: Who will you root for in Albany? - 17 years ago
As bitter as it tastes to me now, I'd like Q to win. If we're going to lose, I'd like it to be to the eventual champions. If Q just falls flat on their faces in Albany, this weekend will be just that much worse.by Will - Hockey
Re: Injured Q-pac player - 17 years ago
BladesOfGloryGood, we need all the help we can get. That's a little tasteless. I want Cornell to win as much as the next member of the Faithful, but I'd rather not have anyone on either team get hurt along the way.by Will - Hockey
Re: Quinnipiac at Cornell post-game 1 - 17 years ago
DafatoneI thought we looked pretty good yesterday. Many of our struggles seemed to be Quinnipiac playing well, as opposed to us sucking. Sure, there were some missed passes, but what game doesn't have missed passes? Q did a great job pressing us when we were in our own zone, causing turnovers and stopping our offense from getting much going. At the same time, we did a good job against theby Will - Hockey
