Re: Tournament Info by Conference - 17 years ago
DeltaOne81jtwcornell91RIT, in their second year of probation, is ineligible for the NCAAs. AH was apparently afraid RIT might win the AH tourney and deprive the league of its auto-bid, so they didn't let them into the league tournament. Are you sure they weren't just ineligible for all post-season play in general? And is the NCAA really cruel enough to say that if an ineligible team won the toby Will - Hockey

RitaI'll leave it to others to comment on "siouxnami's" slamming of the Cornell hockey program. I'm just amused that one fan felt so insecure about NoDak's academics that he had to quote articles stating how good the school is in certain areas. Then again, maybe I should just be glad that someone out west remembers that, in the term "college hockey", "college" comby Will - Hockey
Re: game-worn question - 17 years ago
WinnabagoWhat time of year are they generally available? The FAQ doesn't mention it, I always thought it was at the beginning of the season, around Red/White, but there have been a few posts lately about purchases made now. If I can go the next time I'm in Ithaca, that would be good news. Generally, they become available once the new jerseys arrive, and thus the old jerseys are no longer neby Will - Hockey
Re: game-worn question - 17 years ago
I think Chris is right. It could be Krahn's 2002-03 jersey, but if he never dressed for a single game that season, then the presence of the marks is strange. I guess it could be a 2001-02 jersey, but I don't know how it would differ from 2002-03 and 2003-04, if it differs at all.by Will - Hockey
Re: ECAC playoffs - Cornell 4th, first round bye - 17 years ago
billhoward2000 2nd (lose 3-2 in OT to St. Lawrence) Another mistake here, unfortunately. In 2000, Cornell actually finished 4th in the ECAC Tournament. At Lake Placid that year, as the 4th seed, Cornell beat Clarkson in the play-in game, then lost to St. Lawrence in the semifinal, and then finally lost to Colgate in the consolation game.by Will - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Dartmouth postgame - no energy on eLynah - 17 years ago
jtwcornell91ryeguyCTUCK1 Way too much reliance on a bunch of guys who are just not getting it done. In past years, we've always made it further than our talent would suggest. This year the reverse is true. I think you have to chalk at least some of that up to coaching. Agree with this. After losing McKee, O'Byrne and Pokulok, most of us expected a downturn based on the talent. We have aby Will - Hockey
Re: HARVARD SUCKS - 17 years ago
jtwcornell91KeithKI hate to say anything nice about Berkeley, but it is a big deal when you beat your top rival regardless of the circumstances. We'd certainly celebrate after a one goal win over Harvard in Lynah. even if we were undefeated in Febraury and they were in last place. Amen. It really pissed me off in 1993 when I was at Franklin Field for the 100th anniversary (and 100th game, asby Will - Hockey
Re: Eating @ Dartmouth - 17 years ago
mhaI would have had trouble coming up with the name of Everything But Anchovies if you asked, but that's where we had a great pre-game dinner a year and a half ago, last time we were in Hanover. I thought it was great, and I don't remember there being a major problem getting in and out. But, as with the Nines, we made sure to get there early! Re: Cornell 6 at RPI 1 post game - 17 years ago
BigRedBrouhahaFrom what I've heard through rumors and the like, I thought that RPI gives out one thunderstick (which is not considered a noisemaker) then sells individual thundersticks inside. This way they get around the restriction. Has anyone else heard this, Or mi talking out of my ass here?? Re: Playoff early line - CU vs. Harvard, Clarkson, SLU? - 17 years ago
Bill, your post is dangerously too close to woofing for my tastes. That said, Harvard coming back to Lynah would be awesome...and fitting, since in the previous 11 seasons of Schafer's tenure, Cornell and Harvard have met in the postseason 8 times. This includes 6 times in the last 7 years.by Will - Hockey

evilnaturedrobotredhair34evilnaturedrobotWillRThe crowd did love it so i guess it worked out OK for us. It was pretty funny. While I realize that etiquette and Colgate do not usually go together in the same sentence, unless preceded by the word poor, didn't Colgate violate band etiquette of not playing over one another? Do tubas not count as a band or is it just a lack of class? -WillR Notby Will - Hockey
Re: Hockey poll Jan. 29 - UNH No. 1 - 17 years ago
cth95Thanks for taking the time to look that up. I'm not surprised, but I still would have thought we stayed at least in the top 20 that year. January 2004 was a rather lean month for Cornell, with a record of 2-5-1. Granted, it wasn't as lean as January 2007, but I'd say that's enough to drop Cornell out of the top 20.by Will - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Colgate postgame - 17 years ago
French RageThis has nothing to do with this weekend and is just a random observation, but the team that beats Colgate in the semis has lost the last 3 ECAC finals. At this point, I'd be happy if Cornell could just make it to the semis.by Will - Hockey
Re: Cornell-BU - proof of game - 17 years ago
billhowardCornell has apparently been reluctant to confirm to the Cornell Daily Sun and others that the Cornell-BU game exists. In case there's some question, here's the card (attached) given to the 600-plus alumni at the Cornell class meeting last week in Philadelphia. Is the date and time actually set in stone for all parties involved? I would imagine, if anything, that's the chief hold-up.by Will - Hockey

DeltaOne81I took ice skating for PE my senior year. I would always avoid skating through the crease as much as possible, for some reason it just felt like bad luck. Re: Webcast Pricing Poll - 17 years ago
Al DeFlorioftyuvI wonder if they could set up a sort of declining balance thing, then. You buy $10 or $20 worth of credits, and then apply them on a per-game basis. Re: Higher Glass in Lynah - 17 years ago
