Re: espn+ and cameras - 4 years ago
Trotsky I know I am in the minority but I liked the low cameras at Baker. It was different. There was no impeded view from fans so it was fine by me. The problem with the cast was the stuttering video and the occasional audio drop outs. OTOH I liked the Tiger announcers. The PBP guy was fair minded (although he blew Regush's name) and the color guy said some really interesting things. Iby Beeeej - Hockey

Re: Lynah Documentary This Weekend - 4 years ago
KenP Beeeej Okay, now I REALLY hope the weather forecast improves. We're planning to head up this weekend, but we won't if the expected snow is likely to cause a problem getting back to Brooklyn. Forecast is trending warmer. Mostly rain. Enough forecasts show sub-freezing temps during the rain over Saturday night that we're concerned about the drive back Sunday, and we're reluctantly cancelinby Beeeej - Hockey

billhoward The older you are and the bulkier of a parka you wear, the more food one can bring in, within reason. I sure wouldn't try that on Saturday night when they might be checking people for fish - even if you're old.by Beeeej - Hockey

Trotsky JasonN95 Zoom in on the white stripes. The player names are in the sleeves, the game results on the bottom stripe in back, and what I assume are the championships won on the front but having hard time making out on my phone. Well, fuck. 1970 Commemorative Jerseys/Hoodies - 4 years ago
For the Dartmouth game on Jan. 24, the team will be wearing special commemorative jerseys honoring the 1970 team, and those game-worns will be for sale afterward. In the meantime, these are available non-game-worn:by Beeeej - Hockey

scoop85 The Rancor Playing a neutral at MSG against a team we will play a minimum of twice per season anyway, seems like lazy scheduling. I'd think the big Western schools, Big 10 and Hockey East would be clamoring for a chance to play in New York. Someone pointed out to me that the problem with the power 5 hockey schools is that they often have football games Thanksgiving weekend so it could bby Beeeej - Hockey

CU2007 Swampy scoop85 Swampy I'd also point out that Andreev and Cairns didn't play in Las Vegas. (Has Song, one of our NHL picks, played at all this year?) So our fine results there might have been even better. (I.e., by kicking the shit out of Providence.) upprdeck i thought the cheer was the same thing. used to count the goals, say its all your fault. then end with sieve sieve sieve. Nope - count goals, say "sieve" a few times, then "it's all your fault." I'm pretty sure that in my 33 seasons it's never been the other way around.by Beeeej - Hockey

bandit What is up with the D III schools on the schedule? I believe Elmira has been added as well? You won't improve playing less then talent...coaching 101! Unless trying to pad the W column. Guaranteed, there's someone at Towson and/or Penn State asking what's up with Ivy League bottom dwellers on the schedule. Re: Las Vegas Roll Call - 4 years ago
French Rage Beeeej They'd better not change the schedule on the fly a second time - I think people sort of understood this time, but a non-zero number of Cornell fans legitimately missed the championship game and they simply cannot afford to lose that sort of goodwill again, potential participant schools talk to each other. At least that won't be an issue for the Frozen Four. Honest question beby Beeeej - Hockey

French Rage RichH But I had a good time, because I know my comfort areas, and can get away from the overstimulating noise. It also carries some nostalgia for me. On top of that, it was a well run tournament overall. Ushers were friendly and left us to sit where we pleased. They provided bands, which shows they kind of “get” what the college game is about. Re: Las Vegas Roll Call - 4 years ago
Swampy Can we all just agree the tournament would be greatly improved by eliminating the "professional" cheerleaders? ... But as far as I could tell, these cheerleaders just stood on the stairs and wiggled. With FloSports in particular, the cheerleaders really detracted from the enjoyment of watching the game. Swampy Trotsky I'll bet the 1970 team's SOS was awful. Turns out they don't withhold the trophy for that. Then we played Clarkson for the ECAC championship and then again for the NC$$ NC, so Clarkson must have been pretty good too.
