Awesome!!! I will get three, because I know two friends who will each want one.by cth95 - Hockey

Jordan 04 YankeeLobo Jordan 04 So we can be reminded how badly the Lobos got routed? I already acknowledged that on another thread. Oh, so we shouldn't mention it incessantly for the next 2 months like a loss to Penn? Considering the Lobos' early flameout, maybe they should be looking for a new coach. Seeing that it would be a step backwards for him, I highly doubt Donahue would be inteby cth95 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell NCAA Basketball - 14 years ago
YankeeLobo ugarte YankeeLobo They'll need some bigtime luck if they're going to beat Kentucky. I think Temple and Wisconsin were ideal matchups from the standpoint of team athleticism. Kentucky has 4 NBA lottery picks on their team and they have great guards which hurt Cornell in their losses to Cuse and Seton Hall. I guess it's remotely possible, but it would undoubtedly be the biggest upseby cth95 - Other Sports

If someone makes some good T-shirts with this quote, I would buy one. I have a couple of friends whom I'm sure would also buy one.by cth95 - Hockey

I'd say the team certainly was a soul-devouring juggernaut Saturday night.by cth95 - Hockey
Re: Cornell NCAA Basketball - 14 years ago
87-69!!!! Not quite like Princeton's style in the mid-90's- winning only if they kept the other team below 50 or so.by cth95 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell vs. Union - 14 years ago
Willy '06 cth95 The one advantage to not being there was seeing some of the interviews on TV. Greening and Scrivens were both very well-spoken and neither gave the typical cliched responses. Their answers were well-formed and inciteful. It is a pleasure to know that classy guys like these are representing our program. What were they inciting? Whoops. Uh, their teammates to play better?by cth95 - Hockey
Re: 2010 NCAA Tournament selections - 14 years ago
sah67 And a rematch with UHN it is. 3rd time's a charm? Barry Melrose is speaking very highly of us right now. Says contrary to popular belief Cornell really can skate. He likes us in the bracket. He also corrected the other commentator who thought Chevrie is the best goalie in the nation. Barry likes Scrivens and put up Scrivens' stats to back himself up.by cth95 - Hockey

Awesome pictures and great commentary. I watched on TV but wasn't able to be there this year. I appreciate you sharing the experience with us.by cth95 - Hockey

Whoo-Hooo!!!! My now 2 1/2 week old good luck charm keeps her streak going for us. Maybe we will see her out there in 18 or 19 years. What a game. The women looked great. They looked much faster than they did against Harvard even though the score looked like a blowout last week. Go Big Red ladies!by cth95 - Other Sports
Re: Albany Roll Call - 14 years ago
andyw2100 cth95 I want to go, and I have been to every Albany game Cornell played. I can't make it this year, though. We have a new good luck charm whom I would have loved to bring next year if the tournament wasn't moving to AC. The Cornell men and women are both undefeated against Harvard during my little girl's lifetime (all two weeks of it) and she slept on my lap while I kept track of tby cth95 - Hockey

Re: Opinion Piece: A Little Perspective - 14 years ago
I guess we are just fitting in with the rest of college hockey this year. From INCH's weekly Rankings Outrage: "It’s further proof that dominant theme in college hockey this season is mediocrity."by cth95 - Hockey

RichH Learn from the kings. Oswego. It wasn't quite this much, but I have a picture very similar to this I took right after the blizzard in March '93. I think it was on the top of the hill near the sheep farm. The snow had drifted about 10' high and a loader had broken a path through it.by cth95 - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: Review of Lynah Rink - 14 years ago
"Seating 2/10" I don't know what he is talking about here. The seats are perfectly adequate for taking a break during intermissions. Seriously, I much prefer the intimate atmosphere and ability to crowd more people in with the bleacher seating. I would hate to see this changed.by cth95 - Hockey

Re: North Dakota Postgame 1/22 - 14 years ago
I was only listening, but it sure sound like the team blocked a ton of shots in the last couple of minutes. Scrivens must have been spectacular, too, by the sound of it.by cth95 - Hockey
Re: North Dakota Pregame - 14 years ago
Then he definitely could have done Slapshot.by cth95 - Hockey
Re: North Dakota Pregame - 14 years ago
I think this NDak announcer is great. With his voice and energy, he sounds like someone you would have calling the game in a movie. He could definitely call the games in Slapshot.by cth95 - Hockey
Re: Poll: What is the most useless stat in hockey? - 14 years ago
I like knowing the scoring chances. Think of a game in which one team keeps sending shots in from the top of the faceoff circles to rack up 35-40 harmless shots, and the other team only has 25 but many come from cycling the puck in deep and finding open lanes for one-timers in front of the net. The box score could easily give the impression that the lesser team had the better game.by cth95 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 5 at UNH 2 (postgame) - 14 years ago
Thanks for posting the shift. It almost looked like a 5X3, let alone a typical powerplay.by cth95 - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the pros - January 2010 - 14 years ago
Josh '99 That kind of goes without saying, really, given that neither Thomas nor Vermont has ever won anything, doesn't it? I think winning a Vezina Trophy is pretty good. I don't remember what he was like in college, but this acceptance speech is pretty gracious and emotional. "I had been more worried about getting my name on a roster than about winning the Vezina Trophy,"by cth95 - Hockey
Re: Cornell team of the decade - 14 years ago
Not one many people know about, but the lightweight crew team has been tremendously successful in the last half of the decade with multiple national titles and two runner-up placings at the Henley Royal Regatta in England. (EARC's are equivalent of regional and IRA's are national since rowing does not have NCAA tournament) From the Cornell Rowing History site: "The program had anothby cth95 - Other Sports

Re: Did anyone else see this video? BU at MSG? - 14 years ago
ugarte Make yourself feel better by watching this, which I found in the sidebar. Thank you so much for posting this and saving this thread. The MSG video made me so dizzy, I couldn't even make it past the first couple of minutes to see the tying goal. I would have thought that, in today's digital age, people would know they need to move veeerrryyyy slllooowwwlllyyy when filming. At leastby cth95 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 2 at Union 2 postgame - 14 years ago
Great shots of the game and especially of Scrivens. On a side note, I love the custom paint job on his goal stick. I don't think I have ever seen that before at any level. I don't know how it was this year, but last year it seemed like people were constantly getting up and walking in front of the seats during play. I definitely prefer the concourse being behind the seats.by cth95 - Hockey
Re: Cornell-BU @ MSG postgame - 14 years ago
Kennedy's could be. I was at the other end, so I couldn't see how blatant it was. Brendon was right in front of me so it was very obvious and seemed completely unnecessary.by cth95 - Hockey
